This place is the best shabu place on the west side but it's more expensive than expected for the amount of food they provide. The price is on par with Hai Di Lao. For two, it came out to $120 including tip. Though I thought the meat is high quality and the vegetable platter was fresh, I'm not sure if I would come back often. It's a bit too expensive for what it was and I didn't leave feeling completely full. If you can look past the price, I'd highly recommend it! But for me I'd like to get my moneys worth.

Our first visit was last weekend.Service was fantastic. It was slow when we arrived, and they were great about always making sure we got what we needed and still gave us plenty of space to enjoy without hovering. We split spring rolls (yum) and each got the 2 protein combos and we both almost didn't finish them.I was so happy with the kim chi broth. The sake flight was fun and I learned that I love dry sake from one of the servers who gave me some helpful insights after asking me which varieties were my favorite. We will absolutely be back.

Came here for the first time and was so impressed with how many options there were with customization. The broths were so flavorful and all the ingredients were fresh. The fried quid legs were good! I can't wait to come back and try their other broths.

This tiny little joint has been open some time and I just discovered it. Service was really great and the ambiance was neighborhood feeling kind of a joint. Food was pretty good and felt it was a bit over priced. Me and my kid shared and after ordering a combo meat plate (comes with veggies). You can alway order more, we everything is à la la la cart. Their "kimchi" soup broth was tasty, especially after adding all the meats and veggies. After all said and done, sharing 1 Shabu pot and 1sparkly water, $82....

Shabu on a cold night really hits the spot and this is a solid spot for it.I'm a fan of the Prime Ribeye. There's also US and Japnese wagyu. Since normally I go with the konbu soup base, which is really mild, the ribeye has enough beef flavor while also giving me the fatty bite I want. The veggies are the standard ones you get for shabu spots. You can order ramen on the side and it seems like a lot do, but the included rice is enough for us. Sauce-wise you get to grind your own sesame seeds or the sesame sauce. Ponzu is the weak one for us out of the two - a bit too one dimensional. For the apps, we really like the squid legs kaarage. Typical beer and sake selection. Prices have been slowly creeping up like most places. We usually come on weeknights so it tends to be somewhat emptier. Service's solid and food comes out fast as well.

This was a great place to take a family. The service is fast and friendly, and the food is fresh and high quality. The make your own Ramen experience is entertaining, fun, and kind of rewarding to prepare your own food from a host of fresh ingredients. There are a multitude of broth options for the Ramen, and many ways to customize. I don't know if this brand is outside of California, but I would like to come back here soon.

Exec summary : I was pleasantly surprised how nice this place was 1- parkingFree lot behind the restaurant or plenty of street parking 2- foodThey have you crush fresh sesame to side in the dip. I've never even seen that in Japan. Pretty neat feature Plenty of choices of types of meat. Do not bother getting the large serving of meat. The difference in amount is t worth the price up Don't forget to save the noodles for last. In Japan, the being you a bowl with a small amount of fish sauce in it which you supplement with the broth from the shabu bowl. Here you just get noodles and the bowl 3- ambianceInteresting layout. The hot pots are over electric conduction heaters. The only problem is that it's a pretty long reach. The pots themselves are like nothing I've seen before. I thought they were steamers. Strange conical protrusion OverallBit of a strange location and layout. Not a lot of space for folks waiting for their seats. But some of the best shabu in the South Bay and my new "go to"

My usual go-to shabu shabu place had an hour wait, so we decided to try this place. There was plenty of parking and we were seated immediately. The place is clean, modern and has clear dividers between every 2 seats for COVID protection. As for the food, each entree comes with a set of vegetables (see picture), a bowl of rice, and a bowl of udon. Each entree comes with a meat selection, although I was initially confused by what each size ("medium" vs. "large") entailed. Our server kindly explained to us that medium is about 6 oz. and large is about 8 oz. We ordered kurobuta pork, wagyu signature kobe (signature cut), and added a side of angus prime short rib. The quality of the meat was great, and my personal favorite was the kurobuta pork- the meat was so tender! The angus prime short rib was also tasty- I highly recommend this as an add-on item to share with your dining partner. The assorted vegetables included spinach, napa cabbage, two carrots, one tofu, one mini corn, one imitation crab, one mushroom, one fish cake, two broccoli, vermicelli noodles and one lotus root.I had to deduct a star mainly because it seems like the menu is structured to take every bit of your money. For example, the regular konbu broth (which is just plain water with few pieces of seaweed floating around) is the default that comes with the entree, but if you want to add flavor, it was additional $2 to $3. If you want to order a combo, you can pick and choose your meat, but be aware that certain cuts are considered "upgrades" and you will have to pay more per each cut. I took longer time studying the menu because I didn't want to overpay accidentally. But hey, good food comes with a cost, I guess. I think our dining experience would've been more enjoyable if the servers explained to us on how to use the stove. During my meal, the server would come by to lower or raise the heat without telling me, and at the end, they turned off my stove when I wasn't looking. I wanted to cook my rice inside the pot at the end, but since I didn't know how to turn it back on, I couldn't finish the meal like I wanted to. This is just a minor thing and I understand they may have been shorts-staffed during peak dining hours. But I think this little detail can help their diners have a better experience in the future.

Closer to four and a half stars!I'm a fan of this restaurant, great vibes overall and a very nice interior. Even their plates and bowls looked more aesthetically pleasing than other restaurants I've been to. Our staff was nice and friendly to us.Cook at your own pace! Love this concept at hot pot restaurants. The presentation a this restaurant is A+ compared to other hot pot restaurants. I really enjoy the fact that they give you tongs, and a big spoon for you to place your meat in the broth and also grab broth whenever you want. So many other hot pot restaurants lack this. Quality was decent. And they gave a lot of veggies too which is always great! One main concern was they never came to refill our broths. Regardless that wasn't a big deal to us. If you're in the area, I'd recommend this place!

Been craving hot pot... I normally go to Haidilao in Santa Monica, but decided to try something new. FLAVOR (3/5):1. GYOZA: Yum!2. FRIED OYSTER: This was a test to see if I actually don't like fried oysters or if it was just the restaurants I've been to. My friends liked this, so final verdict is I just don't like fried oysters!3. BROTH (Tonkotsu w/ added spice, ribeye prime, and prime short rib): The broth didn't really taste like tonkotsu to me. It tasted more like pure spice. Most of the flavor came from the sauces (they have you grind your own sesame to make a sauce). I combined the soy and peanut sauce and added some chili oil. SERVICE (4/5):Service was good. You can't control your own heat levels which is a bummer. AMBIENCE (3.5/5):Casual bar seating with some limited table seating. Good for a casual night out. PARKING (4/5):They have limited parking in the back.TAKEAWAYS:Haidilao is still my go-to for hot pot in terms of flavor and options for sides/sauces. I'm not sure I'd come back.
