I Got My Sound Chicken - Downey

The wings are amazing! The staff is amazing and the ambiance 10/10If you're a music enthusiastic you must definitely give this place a try!

My boyfriend and I checked this place out last night and wow--the chicken is incredible! Hands down the best Korean fried chicken I've ever had. They have a flavor called Gim Ballad (seaweed flavor), and it's absolutely amazing. Vinny, the server, was fantastic--super friendly and attentive. The whole vibe of the restaurant is so dope, with vinyl records everywhere, a disco ball, and even a traditional table where you sit on the floor. I could go on and on about this place. It's seriously one of the coolest spots, and the food is even better!

Today we tried out 'I Got My Sound Chicken', a new Korean fried chicken spot in Downey. It just opened, so you can tell they're still getting into the rhythm of things, but the staff was friendly, and the pricing was fair.We ordered a 9 piece traditional wings and were able to split it into three flavors, which was nice. The TNT had that Nashville hot-style heat, but the crunch on it was this was amazing! not just crispy, but like really crunchy in the best way possible. The Red Disco was that classic sweet chili flavor, they nailed the balance, sweet, a little spicy, and very flavorful. Probably my favorite. The Lemon Curry was the one that surprised us. Bright, a little tangy, and somehow just worked.We also got the anchovy fries, and I don't even know how to explain them. It's like the fries were fried in fish-flavored oil or something, and I know that sounds weird, but they were really good. Salty, crispy, and packed with that savory 'umami' flavor. Overall, the food was great, and once they settle in and smooth out the little kinks, this place is gonna be a solid spot. Definitely worth coming back to try more flavors.

This establishment used to be running chicks and it is located in the Downey promenade close to handels ice cream. I wonder if the name sounds better in Korean I'm not sure if it's a lie literal translation. The place is decorated really nice. I don't like Korean wings very much but the different flavors did peek my interest. It may be a little better than running chicks I guess there are not so fried and maybe have more flavor. I actually went because I saw the menu had anchovy fries. But it's just the oil and not much of it. They still were good. It would have been better with actual pieces of anchovies, but then again that's an acquired taste not everybody would like it. I on the other hand would have loved it!I may go back to try the seaweed flavor wings, I believe that's their signature flavor. It sounds very interesting.

Got recommendation from my friend and decided to try this new place. It was so good. Crispy and flavorful on the outside and juicy inside. They have 9 unique different flavors you can pick from. My favorite is the TNT and honey luv rap. For the fries, I would say the loaded samba fries is the bomb. Love it!!The owner is very humble and friendly. The service is amazing. She's really attentive and makes sure we got everything that we need. All the utensils and napkins are available on the side. They also provide a plastic gloves, so your hands don't get dirty. The restaurant is very clean and spacious. They have varieties of radio and black vinyl disc as decorations. It's like an old music theme restaurant. Even the placemat is from the black vinyl disk. Very cute.Definitely recommend this place for the Korean fried chicken lovers!!!

Love this place!!! My husband and I love Korean fried chicken, so we gave it a try on Friday night.The chicken was pretty unique; it was hard to decide on a flavor.The owner/manager helped us order. She provided us with lots of flavor options and explained the menu in detail. She was passionate about her business. Her hard work and dedication to providing good food impressed me.The food is absolutely amazing, very crispy, and flavorful.I would like to come here every time on my cheat day with my husband. Please give this a try, and you won't regret it.

Service was great! We took home 24 pieces with 4 flavors. Our favorites were the lemon pepper curry and the gim ballad. Gim ballad was so crunchy and the curry added a little extra something to the lemon pepper. They sold out of the topokki, but that must mean we just have to come back! The regular fries were soft but I like them that way. One thing missing is definitely needing rice on the menu, but that's just my preference. The inside was really cool and had stereos and records along the walls. They had 2000s music videos on their TV and I loved it.

The ambience is immaculate, super cozy and aesthetically pleasing! The servers are super nice and accommodating, allowing us to pick how many flavors we want for our wings, which is super cool! Will update with food review later :) Also, music choices are *thumbs up*EDIT: The chicken were so juicy and crunchy ugh my favorite has to be the honey one! My bf enjoyed the TNT flavor, great amount of spice! I got the poppin chicken original too and I enjoy the crisp of it. This is definitely going to be a new spot for us.

I visited this chicken place for the first time, and it was amazing! I tried the original flavor and the seaweed-flavored chicken (Kim-????? can't remember the actual name of it), and both were absolutely delicious!! It's a taste I've never experienced before--so unique and addictive, especially their "house dipping sauce" was the bomb!!!! I will definitely be coming back often. Highly recommend!

The wings were so good! Definitely will be back. Included pictures of the original pop and red disco flavors. SO yummy and crunchy! The sauces were also Can't wait to try more items on the menu. I'll probably try the tenders next and some sides.The service was great as well. She took her time to talk to me. There was a lot of picture-worthy walls cool ambience!
