Hungry Harold's

Chilly cheese burger with chili cheese fries. Nothing really was wow just your a little above average chili, pattie was average, fries was good.

Its a sad day in the hood. I drove by here the other day and noticed a piece of paper in the window. So i came back to see what it was. Sure enough there is a demo permit in the window.Man im hurt, i grew up in this place with their breakfast sandwiches, burgers and chili cheese fries. This place is a hood staple.Ill definitely miss it. The lady inside was always really nice. Not to say that sometimes it cant be dangerous to come here but sometimes it was worth the risk. I hope to make it back again before they are gone.

My homie stayed right down the street. When his mom would make vegan meals we would dip to Harold's. We'd spend our change at Slauson donuts. Won't miss them, but glad to see they're in a spot across the street in Woody's lot.

Couldn't take a pic cause it was gone before you knew it! It has been a LONG time since i've had this place and was nervous given other reviews saying it was going out of business (?). But i'm here to tell you, ITS NOT. I ordered 1 cheeseburger combo, and one cheeseburger by itself (it was a long day). While the fries never withstood the test of time they did satisfy me (not crispy, under salted, still good to me). The two burger came out fairly quick, given there were no other customers. ONly about 5-6 minutes. They were fresh and i like the onions and other ingredients they used. The patty WASN'T a smash, but it was thick like a hockey puck. Great quality burger, glad I got two. My order came out to about $15, will be back. CALL IN YOUT ORDER!.

Today I took it back OLD school and had a taste for Hungry Harold's I don't know why because I haven't had it since I first moved out here from Chicago in the late 70's!!First I had to navigate through traffic from my house on Centinella and LaBrea to Crenshaw and Slauson which was definitely a mission dodging 5 o clock traffic, in a Monday, a hour before game 4 of a possible Laker playoff elimination playoff game!So the pastrami was a little from what I remembered I could've had 2 and I forgot they add chili it wasn't what I remembered and could've left this memory in the past, it wasn't bad it was just so so not what I'm used to having.

I used to come here when I was younger and the same items are served but management has changed... that means smaller portions and of course higher prices. I would usually go for their bacon and egg sandwich or their pastrami sandwich. I recommend driving up and looking at the menu IF you want to try it or have questions. If you call with questions, the asian woman that is usually there can be a bit rude over the phone. She does not like to provide information on prices or details or the menu.I love supporting small businesses because it keeps home in the neighborhood but sadly they lose sight of customer needs and only focus on the money.

Service was prompt and food was good. Good hidden gem. Ambiance was fine. Prices were fairly reasonable as well.

I've driven by this place idk how many times but just never pulled in. Was in the mood for a pastrami sandwich, so I called in my order, asked to have my pastrami grilled and bread too. Let me just tell you it was amazing. Not a lot of places do grilled pastrami but it had the perfect amount of mustard & pickles..... the little peppers that came with it were so FIRE, had my tears flowing n nose running. Yummy shoe string fries with generous seasoning salt. Can't wait to go back and try something else. Hope you enjoy too.

I've had many burgers across the United States and nothing beats Harold's. Glad to have been able to grow up eating some of the greatest burgers ever!
