Small mom and pop type cafe/ restaurant located in a strip mall in Garden Grove near the Westminster area specializing in hu tieu - a noodle dish that comes with soup or soup on the side ('dry'). This noodle dish is popular in South Vietnam with Chinese/Cambodian influence/origins. This is commonly eaten earlier in the day or for breakfast. Came here when family was in town and although the space is pretty small, they were very friendly and accommodating for our relatively large party. I ordered the 2. Hu Tieu Mi Nam Vang (dry - soup is served on the side). This came with a combination of rice and egg noodles with pork, ground pork, shrimp, and quail egg. Such a delicious combination of flavors and textures... the noodles were also chewy and very well done. Such a treat, because I rarely get this dish when I visit family or go out. I also got the corn milk, which I liked a lot. Never had it before and it definitely had a corn flavor. (I love almost all things corn - I mean...this drink is almost like a paleo bourbon, lol)Parking was easy at the time because there's a lot and street parking in the area. It was also relatively early so not a lot of people out yet. Big fan of this place.

Something underrated in Vietnamese cuisine is Hu Tieu, and I'm glad this place specializes in that! There are several noodle combos to choose and it's such a simple meal that's delicious and filling. I came in with my group of four for a weekend lunch. It could be confusing to figure out what to order so we asked what was most popular and they told us any of the hu tieu options are mainly the same, it just depends on what type of noodle and if you want broth mixed in or on the side. When I eat Hu Tieu, I prefer my noodles dry. A typical bowl comes with shrimp, pork slices, ground pork, garlic, green onion, and more bits of deep fried pork. The soup comes with two quail eggs and a soup wonton dumpling. To garnish you can eat it with Crown Daisy vegetables for more greens and their Chinese fried dough stick. The taste was great, however, use of metal bowls made the soup quite cold. The portion sizes are also on the smaller side, but just enough. Great discovery on Garden Grove!

Hu Tieu De Nhat serves up solid bowls of hu tieu noodle soup in Garden Grove. Remember to bring cash. Hu Tieu Mi Nam Vang: You need to make oan important decision. Do you want soup in the large metal bowl or do you want the noodles dry with soup in a small accompanying bowl? The egg and rice noodles provide nice texture and flavor contrasts. The clear flavorful broth is great, flavored by the tender sliced pork belly and minced pork. The bountiful bowl also contains shrimp, fish cake, cracklings, and a couple creamy quail eggs.In addition to some great sambal chili sauce and pickled jalapeños, there is a jar of pickled garlic slices.Dining Area: When you arrive, write your name on the clipboard as the 10 tables inside full up quickly. There are also a few tables outside. Parking: The strip mall lot is small.

Although we had to wait a bit it was so worth it. Omg sooooo delicious! We got several hu tieu nam vang. Some with soup and some with soup on the side. Everyone devoured their lunch. Totally hit the spot. Fast service good portions. Can't wait to go back.

Tried this place with some friends and thought the food was good but probably wouldn't come back. I liked the dry egg noodles with the combo toppings but found the portions to be really small. Also serving hot dishes/soups in stainless steel really ends up losing the heat too fast so it becomes a cold dish. Cash only, long waits during peak times are another downside.

Hole in the wall that hits the spot! Cash only though so be prepared. I tried the #2 and was given the option to choose between chewy rice noodles or the classic white rice noodles. I went with the chewy one which I'd never seen before, and decided to try it. I ordered it dry with the soup on the side. The dish was packed with flavor with crispy bits. They offer pickled garlic, pickled jalapeños, and hot sauce on the side to elevate your meal.

Hu tieu, an underrated Vietnamese dish that is simple and satisfying. I love a good dry noodle dish and I really enjoyed their hu tieu. I opted for number 20, dry, which was bbq pork with clear and egg noodles. A small bowl of soup comes on the side when you choose dry. It was flavorful, meat slices seasoned well and plentiful, and a good portion size for the price point. A very small restaurant with only a little more than a handful of tables so there was a bit of a wait for a party of two. Write your name and party size on the list. Food came out fast albeit our one to go order took awhile. Cash only. Parking available in small lot shared with other businesses.

We got a bowl of Hu tieu mi nam vang, which comes with rice noodles and egg noodles. This is the "kho" or dry version where the soup is served on the side.It was really good as the rice noodles were able to soak up the sauce and had a lot of flavor. The soup was rich as well. They also had pickled garlic in a jar on the table, so that was a nice addition by adding a refreshing kick to the dish. Note: this place does accept card if purchases are over $20.

Been looking for a good hu tieu place for a while now. This restaurant is quite small so if you head there during rush hour there will definitely be a wait. We ordered 2 dishes, one is the egg noodle mi Nam vang and the other one was the dry (kho) chewy (dai) clear noodle Nam vang with the broth on the side.Pros : Broth was clear and good. Noodles were fresh and springy. Protein ratio to noodle was plentiful. Overall a good bowl of Nam vang soup.Cons : They skimped on the side veggie platter. For two bowl of noodles, we could have gotten a little more bean sprouts.Over all, a solid bowl of noodle. Not amazing, but solid.

This spot specializes in Hu tieu, hence the name. We got the Hủ Tiếu Mì Bò Viên(Rice & Egg Noodle with Beef Meat Ball) and the Dai Mì Nam Van (Chewy clear & egg noodle with pork belly, ground pork, shrimps, fishcakes, and quail eggs) and added extra bbq pork. Both dishes came with herbs and lemon slices on the side. The broth and noodles were flavorful and delicious. Towards the end of our meal we got a soda Xi muoi and soda chanh muoi! The drinks were refreshing, but needed more preserved plums.
