Honu Poke and Grill

I am re-loving this place again and again. I'll run around think I'm gonna find good sushi or poke here or there- go somewhere I get grossed out at, or is just neutral at best and come back here over and over for their poke combo and this tea or their kalbi ribs which were yo die for the other night. I want to try the Kailua pork and the lau lau and Musubi. but I can't break out of my necessity proteins that are to flavorful and satisfying.... Save your money guys- I've spent it for you at Gen, and lots of other places all over Lomita - this place has IT. The Hawaiian factor altho I've never been to Hawaii, I've heard about the good.

The poke was suuuppper fresh. It's the closest to poke you can get in Hawaii that I've had in LA imo. My ranking of the poke I had:1. Salmon spicy mayo 2. Tuna Hawaiian limu3. Salmon spicy garlic4. Tuna shoyu Friendly service. It's in a strip mall with tons of parking. Just a chill environment. But surprisingly the star of the show was the beef ribs. Perfect marinated seasoning. Definitely should be a go-to place.

Three times in one week. Poke is addicting, reminds me of hawai'i. And affordable, I can't get over it.Galbi plate is my fav Ribs was amazing but a bit heavy for me (maybe on the day). Will be getting it again when I crave it.Sweet spicy and spicy mayo salmon poke Chicken adobo is juicy and falls right off the bone.Happy eating!

Was craving some Hawaiian bbq and was so happy to have found this spot on yelp! The beef rib was so tender and full of flavor. It paired well with the side of rice with sprinkled furikake & macaroni salad. I also ordered a small portion of the garlic poke and wooooooooow it was so delicious and fresh! I will most definitely be back for more of it. Service was very friendly and the inside was clean and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Honu bento with Katsu chicken and teriyaki chicken. $14.95 ordered it to go and it didn't come with Katsu sauce or a scoop of Mac salad. The Katsu was just dry. Needed Katsu sauce. The teriyaki was much better.The shoyu poke needed more shoyu, and onion it landed a little flat. I might try it one more time, might have been an off day

Ordered a plate here with the shoyu tuna and sweet spicy salmon, and both were really good a fresh. The sweet spicy salmon was my favorite, but not spicy at all. It's a very traditionally Hawaiian poke spot, and I do wish they had more side and toppings options, but overall it was a really good meal.

Nice Hawaiian spot for lunch. Poke was good. Kalbi was a little tough but they give you a good amount. Some dine in tables; casual eat and go. Staff seemed pretty on top of stuff

Honu Poke & Grill is easy to find, if you're looking for it. I mention this because Lomita Blvd has become a transit corridor; and if you're driving quickly, you're liable to miss it.On this occasion I ordered the kalua pork. The kalua pork is served on top of steamed cabbage. Unlike some Hawaiian restaurants which serve steamed cabbage (only), here they mix shredded onion into the cabbage for a little extra taste. The plate also includes a scoop of rice, with flakes of dried seaweed and sesame seeds sprinkled on top, and a scoop of macaroni salad. The meal was filling. The taste was good. Pricing was reasonable.The shop itself is really humble. But the small dining room is clean and reasonably comfortable, if you choose to eat on site.

My cousin told me this was the best hawaiian spot here in the South Bay, but i was pretty skeptical given the quality of options around here (Aunty Maile's, King's Hawaiian, Shootz, etc.). I decided to order the beef ribs and my friend tried one of the salmon poke options. I'd have to say that the ribs were AMAZING and the poke had really good flavor (and i don't even like eating raw fish). My friend even said this was the BEST poke they've had so far in LA. Definitely excited to come back and try this place again.

First time trying, got the katsu moco and shoyu salmon poke. They have great service and great food! This is a must try!
