I've been missing Japanese food ever since I got back from Japan a few weeks ago so dragged my husband to try it here for dinner on a Monday night. You order from a kiosk, so it's self-service, which I thought was nice but would def be better to add a second one but that's okay. The place is really cute with some authentic Japanese decoration and Japanese snacks to purchase. Our food came out quickly, my husband got the ramen and yakitori and I got the tempura udon with mini tendon bowl. I love how they have different condiments to spice up your order and self-serve water to the right of where you get your order. We really enjoyed our food! The tendon bowl was delicious, would def get a regular size bowl next time we come back. We can't wait to try more items in the menu! Definitely recommend this place for pretty authentic Japanese food!!!

An introvert's heaven -- order at the kiosk and pick up at the counter when your number is called. Seat yourself and bus your tray when you're finished. Super cute decor, it definitely gives Japanese street market stall vibes.Surprisingly good for a fast-casual cafeteria style place. My katsu was perfectly fried, and the various fillings were all tasty and well seasoned. The potato croquette was like deep fried mashed potatoes -- crispy, creamy, fluffy. I was also pleasantly surprised by the baby octopus katsu which was not at all rubbery. The curry flavor was intense and the consistency was on the thicker side, which is what I prefer. My partner's ramen was also solid, broth was rich and deep. Egg was perfectly jammy too. Gyoza and takoyaki appetizers were also good.

A local ramen HIRO has easy Access from Beach Blvd. Plenty of parking and accessabily space. The preparation of the two dishes were quickly served. Thought the ramen and udon were served up quickly, it was very tasty and cooked to perfect. Their counter has both a clear signage for pick up and plated service pick up for those patrons dining in.We had the Niku (beef) udon bowl and Miso ramen. Both beautiful presentations and delicious meal with generous portions.A definite add to a new favorite for me.

Really enjoyed this place! Nothing overly fancy about it, just good old fashioned bowls of ramen. It's not the best I've ever had but it absolutely hit the ramen craving just right! I was in the area and glad I stopped in. Would absolutely rec a meal here any time if you're in the area and craving ramen :)

Came here for some delicious ramen on a cold, rainy night after dance practice with some friends. It was so easy ordering from the kiosk. The hard card is deciding what to order. Everything sounded good, especially on a cold night. I went with the spicy miso and added fried garlic + fried onion plus a side of shrimp tempura. Wow oh wow, it was the bomb! I went with the regular size and I'm glad I did because it was a huge portion already. It didn't take long after ordering for the food to be ready wither which is a major plus. I would definitely come back!

Super cute decorations and ambiance. You feel like you're eating at food stalls on the streets of Japan. The ramen broth is flavorful and comes out piping hot, but all the ingredients were cold. We tried the katsu curry, curry ramen, beef rib ramen, and tsukamen. At $17 an entree, it was pretty pricy for what you get. Everything is self ordering and self serve.

HIRO Ramen & Udon is my favorite spot for some bomb.com yummy udon. Omg... I wish this place was closer to me, but unfortunately it's not. So whenever I'm in SoCal, I have to come here at least once or twice.I love the U2 Niku Beef Udon. It's perfectly flavorful, delicious, and just food for your soul...and belly. :D It's perfect. I have not tried their ramen, but I'm pretty sure they're good too. I'm just really hooked on the udon. What can I saw.. I'm committed to it. Hehe.. It's really easy to order through the touchscreen, and the service is pretty quick and friendly. I love the self-serve additional things that they have such as the pickled radishes and crunchies. The place is decorated beautifully with the Japanese touches. The bathroom is clean. They have chill music playing. I just simply love this place. I can't wait to come back again the next time I'm in the area. :D

If you're looking for good Japanese food in the Buena Park/Fullerton/La Mirada area, this is hands down the best spot! It's rare to find a Japanese operated Japanese restaurant, many are Korean owned (nothing wrong with that) but you can defiantly taste the difference.Food: Amazing! Savory and delicious, I got the HIRO ramen with a curry bowl add on. Very filling! Portions are great! My wife got the Spicy Tonkatsu Tsukemen and I honestly liked it better than my ramen! They have a variety of items so you can get non-soup related dishes!Ordering: They do not have any servers, it is all kiosk operated! It's actually very convenient and easy to order. The pick-up window has a staff that can assist and also calls your number for food. What I love about this place is that everything you need is right next to the pick-up window. Condiments, spices/seasonings, sauces, utensils, and to-go boxes/bowls.Seating: Very spacious and great for big groups! This is my new go to spot after church with friends!Interior: They also have a little gift shop with all kinds of stuff! Great for kids to look around and the interior design is gorgeous with Japanese decor and kimonos for a great experience! You won't be disappointed!

If you like minimal staff interaction this place is set up like the Japanese ramen places where you place orders through a kiosk and the food has a pick up area with drinks and toppings outside for customer use. Ambiance is cute and it feels like a Japanese establishment with Japanese refreshments. Wide variety in menu. My curry tasted possibly like box mix w/ additional spices which I appreciate or it was their own blend. Generous portions! Great deal considering inflation. I tried a teensy bit of fiancés ramen and it's ok mid tier good. I enjoyed my curry plate and the crunch was exceptional on the katsu.

My husband heard about this place from a coworker and decided he wanted to try it out for dinner. The place was spacious, clean, and empty. They sell a variety of Japanese candies like Popin'Cookin'. Their menu was pretty big. I got the shrimp tempura udon with a side of the garlic edamame. My husband got the chicken katsu curry udon with a side of gyoza and shrimp tempura. We also got 2 water bottles. After picking up our waters from the fridge, I realized they offered free cups of water. They also have a station for hot sauces and tempura flakes which they encourage you to put in your udon, which I did. My udon was delicious, I would have finished everything but the edamame and the udon noodles filled me up so I couldn't finish the broth. My dish came with two tempura shrimp and a fried veggie pancake. Both were amazing. We could both tell the shrimp tempura was cooked fresh. It was so light and crunchy. My husband said his chicken katsu was just okay, but he did love the curry udon!
