...I come here more frequently than for just for my husband's favorite Prime Rib on Fridays, but there's no doubt this is one of his most favorite dinners. In fact, he called me at work today to request it. Today, cooked to perfection accompanied by a fluffy baked potato and side salad substitution (upcharge $3.99), he's a happy guy! I'm happy to see a close to full house here, close to a full bar and the restaurant loaded with regulars at 4 pm. Always happy to support local and Aaron, the owner, is a very respectful, friendly and pleasant example.

The Hangout HB is bigger than the one inSeal Beach but it's not quite as good. Some dishes are equal---sliders and sides, but mostly the flavor is gone on others. We ate burgers last night (a hangout favorite) and it tasted like three day old meatloaf. It had so many fillers it didn't even taste like beef. Last time we came it was for their signature omlets....Breakfast left us with that "Denny's" taste in our mouth. And it cost waaay too much. Still healthy portions but I think we are over being overstuffed restaurants. Get back to real food quality, especially with the new Inflated prices.I've been eating at this location in HB for about seven months. Maybe it's the trend of prices and cut-backs but going for dinner isn't worth the high price now. $65+ no appetizers and two beers. For meatloaf tasting burgers? I'd rather eat at In-and-Out. Sorry Hangout, still love your ibe, service, appetizers and beer but meals are just too iffy to pay that much.

Coming here on a weekend morning for brunch, I remembered seeing this place across from the Starbucks on Bolsa Chica that I used to study in. I always wondered how this place was. Well, as luck would have it, my friends and I were planning to have a coffee hangout at Sweet Elles, however, they did not open yet, so we went here to Hangout Restaurant. Walking in, I like the atmosphere of a surfing-themed environment, appropriate for the City of Huntington Beach. It was very crowded... a good sign. We sat at one of the booths where I ordered chicken fritters for breakfast. I know... chicken tenders for breakfast? It's because I usually attribute how good a restaurant is by how well they did their chicken fritters. That is to say, they were okay. The batter that they used to fry reminded me of a beer-battered fried consistency. I remembered that it was piping hot with steam coming out with every bite so be careful! Overall, I liked the environment and service. The food was okay but I'm glad I went for the experience. I finally unlocked a restaurant in HB that I was always curious about.

Really enjoyed this place. It's right across from the pier in seal beach. There was about a half hour wait for lunch on Sunday, which gave us enough time to walk the pier. Service was really great. I had the fish and chips which was a large portion, the fries here are great and the tater sauce was a little different than normal tartar sauce, but I liked it a lot. My fiancé had the buffalo chicken sandwich, which was also really good. They have a really large menu with a lot of different options. They also have specials during the week along with a happy hour.

Super comfortable to Hang Out, as the name implies. Good drinks, better food. We had the OG Mai Tai and it was delicious! Not too pineapple-y and perfectly rum-delish. lolWe were lucky enough to come Fish-Fry Wednesday, so the friend fish tacos, fish & chips, fried fish sandwiches are 50% off with the purchase of a drink. And you know I'm gonna purchase a drink! Ha! So I got fried fish tacos, but I added pineapple pico de gallo instead of the regular pico de gallo. Yum! Service here is laid back, friendly, personal, and NOT RUSHED. if you know anything about me, you know, I can't stand being rushed when I eat. So many restaurants today rush you to get in and out, they just want your money. But this place is so comfortable to hang out. The house made chips are fantastic! We will totally be back here for more yumminess! Side note: my partner just said I didn't like his singing. Such bullpoopy. They have good old classic rock music playing here, and I think everybody should be singing!

Walked by this place before when we stopped off at the sushi restaurant here for a date night. Today we came back during the day after running errands nearby. Our hostess was super cool, the one with the tattooed sleeve, too bad she wasn't our server. We got a younger chick who didn't really help with not giving us the option that we could order something beyond their regular fries. I just happened to want onion rings so I asked for that but it wasn't until after we ordered that we hard a male server tell the other tables he served by us that you can choose from garlic Parmesan fries and sweet potato fries as well. What the crap?! Bf said he would've ordered that in lieu of the regular fries he got with his burger if he had known, oh well. I was feeling bbq'y so I got the bbq burger that came with a side of little cole slaw that was aight, while my son ordered the veggie tacos with choice of flour or corn. Servings are plentiful. Really filling. Go here hungry. I felt like I needed a siesta when we walked out. Didn't finish the other half of my bbq burger so I took that to go for lunch the next day. Would come back, but not often, because it's pretty heavy comfort food. Parking is easy, which makes for a stress free experience in my book, but minus the 1 star because if the lackluster server we got.

Hangout is the closet equivalent to a.neighborhood pub! Not fussy and very friendly! The food is almost gastro pub but with comfort foods thrown in the mix so there's something for everyone at a reasonable price. I love the double Smashburger on the Happy Hour menu. My aunt loves the sliders and I hear the Prime Rib is supposed to be wonderful- haven't seen that on menus in years - but I'm glad it's making a comeback! The wine list is actually impressive for a neighborhood joint with some great Napa selections. The long bar is what you want to see when you're hankering for a good cocktail and it adds to the ambiance. The cocktails are straight up top notch with Hendricks gin in the Ocean Air which is my favorite combination of gin, mint, cucumber and lemon with some club soda. Kari has been our server the two times we've been here and she is such a gracious hostess and makes you feel like you're a regular. Come make yourself at home here at the Hangout and don't miss out on their Happy Hour!
