Great "locals" spot! Stopped by Friday night for date night dinner with my husband, we didn't have any reservations, but the wait wasn't bad and the staff was very accommodating. Sat at the bar area.We tried the biscuits, the order comes with two biscuits, butter and honey. They're amazing. We also have the short ribs with coleslaw. Also amazing.. My husband had trout and I was also really good. They have a full bar. There's TVs playing sports. By the way,I did not know that in the front of the open kitchen area, they have first come first serve seating, bummer next time.. now I know.The sitting at the bar area is so reserved. You can't just go in and sit down. They have a beautiful patio area to dine as well.

Every time we drive through Newport Beach we stop at Gulfstream as it has never disappointed. This visit was no different.First, before heading into the restaurant, you can arrive early and enjoy a cocktail in their outdoor area sitting in Adirondack chairs around fire pits or at their energetic piano bar. We started at the bar with two dirty martinis, ice cold. Spot on.For dinner, our server Devyn was professional, courteous and proficient.We always order the grilled artichoke if in season. It was seasoned perfectly. The sauce is delicious.For dinner I ordered the beef ribs with mustard sauce. Fall off the bones delicious! So good! They come with a delicious Cole slaw. The slaw is a mayo base which is my preference.My husband had the salmon which he said was absolutely perfect. It came with broccoli. We ordered fries as another side which comes with a spicy mayo and catchup. The fries were thin and crispy. Gulfstream is a Hillstone restaurant if you are familiar with the restaurant group. I've eaten at a few of their restaurants and have never been disappointed. They are always solid in my experience. Gulfstream is one of my favorites. Give it a try if you are in or around Newport Beach, CA.

There's a certain kind of place that thrives in Newport Beach--slick, polished, not effortlessly expensive. Gulfstream is one of them. Not trying too hard, not exactly phoning it in either. I've been here plenty of times, usually after work, perched at a high-top in the bar with a drink in hand, or at one of those coveted kitchen rail seats where you get to watch the controlled chaos unfold.The drinks? Above average, which in Newport is saying something. Nothing overly fussy, nothing that requires an MFA in mixology to appreciate. They won't light anything on fire or carve a single, hand-cut ice sphere, but they also won't disappoint. Solid execution, no pretense.The menu keeps it tight--no sprawling, ego-driven, 20-page disaster--but you've got options. If I'm ordering an entrée, it's the trout. No regrets. My wife swears by the salads. The food? Good, sometimes very good, but not the main event. That honor goes to the people-watching, which is Newport Beach at its absolute finest. Money, Botox, and real estate deals unfolding in real time. If you're in the market for a waterfront property--or just want to overhear someone closing on one--this is where you come.The tables are mostly set up for foursomes, and the outdoor patio, when buzzing, has that just-right energy. A place where deals are made, martinis are drained, and everyone is somebody--or at least pretending to be.

Enjoyable restaurant nice outdoor, tasty food and great service. It seems to be a safe restaurant that and you d and old can enjoy. Everyone will find something they like.

My recent dinner at Gulfstream Newport Beach was an absolute delight. From the moment I savored the heavenly biscuits (a must-try!), I knew I was in for a treat. The savory biscuits were elevated to new heights with a drizzle of fresh honey, creating a perfect balance of sweet and savory.The grilled artichokes were a standout, incredibly flavorful and surprisingly meaty. The ruby red trout was cooked to perfection with exquisite seasoning. And let's not forget the refreshing coleslaw that perfectly complemented the main course.To cap off the meal, I indulged in the decadent tres leches cake, which was truly to die for.Erin, our waitress, provided exceptional service. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and consistently courteous throughout the evening.Overall, my dining experience at Gulfstream Newport Beach was exceptional. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a delicious and memorable meal.

This place is great! My husband and I have been coming here for about 6 years. The food is good quality, the ambiance is warm, and the service is impeccable. We went today for a lunch date and we ordered the heavenly biscuits, the burger, and the chopped salad. I usually love the chopped salad but it was prepared a little differently this time... Sunday is usually a little off on their food game but the service makes everything better. Sarah was our waitress and accommodating. I appreciate their attention to detail and care for the customer. I highly recommend coming here. The wine selection is unbeatable and usually the food is spot on. Maybe try night or not a Sunday. Overall it's worth the price and is an amazing spot for a date. I also highlyRecommend the grouper sandwich (only Saturday thru Monday) and the shrimp appetizer.

Outstanding ambiance, service and delicious meals. The plates look amazing! Properly decorated and appealing. Well worth the modestly high prices. Drinks from the bar were numerous and well crafted.Well worth a try!

Food is amazing. The salmon app is Service was wonderful. Super friendly and attentive server and manager. Ambiance is part romatic and part trendy. Really pretty inside amd the outdoor patio is so nice when the weather is nice:

Biscuits were great as always. Caesar salad had some kind of mustard dressing that didn't resemble Caesar. Salad had one lone crouton. Quality was not up to par on the orders of the others at the table either. It was disappointing.
