This place is a place I've been coming to as a kid. So many memories and it's crazy some of the workers are still there after all these years. All the workers are nice and sometimes the cashiers will do small talk with you. It may be a small place but you can find good food there. You got to have the carnitas, so bomb. You'll find the price higher than a grocery store but I'm going to support this local business.

Menudo is so good, but you better get there early before it's all gone. The carnitas are also delicious

Super expensive! Went in to buy carne asada and it was like $9 a lb. WTF lol I got a pound and a pound of chicken breast. I went home to cook them and the meat was BAD! I had to throw them out and didn't even eat it. The cashier, who was very nice, was not able to communicate with me :( since I only speak English. Be weary of the quality and freshness of the meat you are purchasing.

Take my opinion with a grain of salt, because I'm a white guy rating a Mexican meat market, but this place gets my 4 stars for the simple fact that it has just about the greatest chicken marinade that I've ever tasted. I've searched everywhere trying to find it's equal in any meat market and have not had any success. When this chicken is grilled, it comes out tender and full of flavor. As for the market......well..... It's a typical meat market that you'll find anywhere. I wasn't blown away by any pricing, but I don't go there to buy the tortillas. All I want is the chicken. I hope this helps you out.

This market is at least as good as La Venadita in Carson on Main street, the pollo asada is really tender, they have 2 types of carne asada, they are both good, or you could just get the unmarinated meat but they could give you the chile/salt/spice for you to marinate on the spot. The most important part, we drop in on La Venanita on Memorial day the line is out the door, so we tried Guanajuato and there is no line!!!

This Wilmington location has the same five star carnitas that the location in San Pedro sells. The difference between here and the SP location is they don't sell hot food here (i.e. burritos, tacos, etc.) hence the four stars given. Other than that the grocery store and all the products are the same. The storefront doesn't face Avalon boulevard so it can be a little tricky to find if your not familiar with the area.

Great place to get ready to eat carnitas. Also very good meat for a carne asada. Get the aldia carne asada. A lot less fat than the ranchera carne asada. They also have a little area to get things for the carne asada that you might be forgetting.
