Pretty much done with this place. Been coming for years, but the food has been slipping, the last time I was in they charged $2 a fricking cookie ($24 a dozen????) and at some point they switched from half and half to Coffee Mate (the absolute worst crap you can put in your body!)Just the Coffee-Mate alone makes it clear they are saving pennie's on my food at the cost of my health, which makes me wonder what else they are scrimping on in the kitchen. Then this morning we stop in ... still fricking serving coffee mate ... and when my wife asked for V-8 she was told "we discontinued V-8". What F'ing breakfast restaurant worth their salt doesn't offer OJ -and- V-8 ... they have a damned bar in the restaurant for God's sake! You telling me they don't have tomato juice on that bar????But was tomato juice offered in place of the V-8??? No, and when I told my wife to ask, she was already upset and said no, just forget it.So we're done. There are other options in the area just as good if not better. Try Kim's just down Walker at Ball, you won't be disappointed and it will be our replacement for Gourmet Pie.PS - As I am writing this our French toast and waffle shows up ... and for butter? It's those individual cups so small you have to use 6 of before you just get tired of digging around in the cups .... Ice fricking cold.

This is a Cypress staple. Delicious breakfast and even better bakery. Food: all breakfast foods are super yummy and hearty. I recommend their Gourmet omelette and the berry pancakes!! Bakery: Pies are the BEST!!! Their boysenberry cream cheese is their most popular and delicious pie. It's a hit at any party I take it too. The pie is light, fluffy, and super flavorful. The sweetness does not overpower. Location: it has a small parking area. it's get busy on the weekends so be prepared to look for parking outside on the street. Service: great and attentive service. They get super busy, especially on the weekends, but they do their best to seat you as fast as possible. I never feel rushed when eating.

Was worried when I drove up to meet a friend here because there were some people waiting outside the restaurant and the parking lot was pretty full. Luckily, I found a parking spot in the back and as many people as there were waiting, my wait was less than 15 minutes. Went on a Saturday morning at 8am. My friend ordered the eggs Benedict. She said it was cooked to perfection. I ordered the country steak and eggs and it was surprisingly yummy. I've had it at many other places but theirs was pretty good. I ordered mine with Country Mess PotatoesWhich consists of sautéed ham, potatoes, onions, green peppers and topped with cheese. It was soooo good. A lot of seating with booths. Our waitress was friendly and fast. Love when I go somewhere for the first time and everything was perfect! 10/10 will be back!

I've been here countless times since it's my old stomping ground, and it never disappoints. The food is always hot and delicious, and the service is exceptional. I especially love coming here for breakfast. While I wish I lived closer, it's always a top choice whenever I'm in the area. The pancakes and omelets are amazing, the coffee is perfect, and my companions couldn't stop raving about the mimosas.Make sure to try their pies, deliciousness. 12/27/24

Ordered a few pies online for Christmas eve pickup. Although the online system only indicates you can pickup your order ASAP, you can write your desired day/time of pickup in the notes section. Pickup with a breeze. There was a table just outside the restaurant doors where you let the staff know your name and they'll bring your order out in a few minutes. No additional pies were available for purchase the day of, so I'm definitely glad I placed my order ahead of time. The French apple, banana cream, and key lime pies all were tasty, but my favorite hands down was the banana cream (smooth, creamy, and filled with banana deliciousness). All three pies had a nice, flaky crust to them. Each pie was packed with delicious filling, which you could tell included fresh ingredients. Loved how they weren't too sweet either!Parking lot is somewhat small, so you may find yourself parking all the way in the back or waiting for a spot. Definitely worth the wait, though, for some tasty pies!

I have been looking for a good chicken pot pie that will fill you up and not make you wishing you had a side dish. I found it and I'd come back again for it and dessert. If I had the roomLocation: On Katella Avenue located next door to an empty looking former car dealership. Service: Was a bit slow, but the servers were hopping as it was close to New Years and people were celebrating with family, so I couldn't be upset at them. I still got my pie in a timely manner and it was piping hot.Food: I came here for one thing only: chicken pot pie. This review is soley for this and no other dish. I was hungry (no breakfast) and this pie was BIG and very filling. The chunks of chicken were just as big, the filling not skimpy, the crust flaky and buttery and it came out piping HOT. I mean hot enough I nearly burned the roof of my mouth. I couldn't get dessert even if I wanted to unless it was to go, but I wasn't going straight home, so that was out. Summary: If you love chicken pot pies, come here. You won't be sorry. I still think of that pie even a couple weeks later. I can see why people come here instead of the chain restaurants for their meal. I couldn't get a side bread of anything even if I had wanted to, it was that filling. Dessert will have to be another time, but I'm betting it will be just as good, although the holiday pies will not be available any more, but you can always ask. Parking lot is private and should be okay on a regular non-holiday day. Price was about what I expected and I'll have come back later for maybe a meal and dessert. Happy eating!!

Yummy, yummy, yummy! 3 yummys for 3 delicious desserts. We came here after dinner with some friends to they could keep drinking and we could get some dessert. I ordered the Coconut Cake which was light and fluffy. It was not as good as the Coconut Cake at Cedar Creek Inn in San Juan Capistrano. That cake is the best I've ever had. I would go just to get a slice of it To Go when I lived there. But the restaurant changed hands, the slices got smaller, and now it's closed. :( Sad story. This cake was pretty good though. My husband got the Chocolate Cream Pie and then the lovely waiter brought us a free slice of the Boysenberry Cream Cheese. Wow, that was so flavorful and creamy, just heavenly. We all tried to not hog it, taking little tiny bites, trying to be polite. I'm definitely getting that as my own slice next time so I don't have to share.

Gourmet Pie is a solid local diner. It's great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's a cozy and friendly atmosphere with decent service. For breakfast, I recommend the boysenberry cream cheese pancakes. Very sweet, but super tasty! They offer dinner specials each night of the week, which is a pretty good deal. For about $20, you get a soup or salad, then quite a big main. We've tried the turkey dinner and the country fried pork chop. You can even add a slice of pie for a few more dollars. Surprisingly, we love their pozole. I also recommend their boysenberry cream cheese pie.
