Golden Star Family Restaurant

Staff is incredibly sweet and every takeout order included a sweet present with a note. The Golden Californian Chicken Sandwich is by far one of the best chicken sandwiches I have gotten from a restaurant. Chicken sandwiches are not my go to but every bite I would take from my husband I finally stopped fighting it and it has been my go-to order. The sandwich is massive and we have yet to finish it in one sitting. We each always tend to get the zucchini fries which has always been very tasty from here and don't forget to enjoy with ranch!Also, their chili cheese fries are by far the best I have tasted! The chili is slightly sweet but has been consistently delicious! Help keep a small business alive and enjoy good customer service again!

Big Hit and then bigger Miss...1st time food was awesome....country fried steak & gravy delicious....wife's salad was very great....service is slow but thorough, I know, weird.....but great food meant a return trip...forgot the cost but remember tipping 20$...2nd time everything was garbage....food nasty, service poor, ugh....glad my kids paid not me....This place is roll of the dice.....Ambiance is rated by the quality of your meal...if you enjoy your food then you tend to appreciate the decor, but if your food is terrible then you realize this place is a dump....that's been my experience...Sorry no pics

Food was pretty good. Pictures might not look like it but it was pretty good. I wish the gyro had a few more veggies in it but it definitely was not dry. I decided to try the chili cheese fries again since it had been 2 years since I last had them and surprisingly I enjoyed it better this time around. Would definitely order those again. Next time I'll try something not Mediterranean and maybe their pasta or a different burger. Nonetheless pretty good for its price and staff was super friendly. Establishment still remains clean too!

For being breakfast this is the spot! Good diner food, no lines and truly a traditional breakfast spot. Has something for everyone. It probably has over 100 things on the menu!!! The servers are fast, simple and straight too the point!!! Thumbs up!! Pancakes with nice portion!!!Waffles, eggs and bacon!!!Vanilla Milkshake was huge and a true diner type!! Yummy!!Eggs, has browns and some crispy sausages..Huge menu and super delicious! To me it's the best breakfast spot in Long Beach.

I've been to this restaurant several times with a friend. He's a regular. He always orders the Triple for breakfast and I usually join him. The food is not fancy but it's comforting. It comes the way you want it to. No surprises. The staff is always friendly like you are at home.

Tried this place for the first time. Pass this place all the time. Basically a old style cafe. Interior is classic but clean. From what my husband ordered, the food was good. What you would expect from a place like this. Service was great friendly staff and very attentive. Our drinks were filled constantly and our waitress was always checking in on us. Will be back ... may be a go too for quick bite.

My salad was very freshThe service was fantastic quick everything I needed was brought to me or better yet it seem like they knew I was coming that's pretty goodIt was very calm they had music but it was just perfect low tone The best way that I can describe is, it felt like I've been coming to this place for a very long time because it puts me back on a special time when I was growing up. When you went out you got good service good tasting food and great value. That's what America's all about. You have to come and try it out it definitely is worth the drive.

I havent tried the rest of the menu. The breakfast bacon burrito 100! Decent size and worth the price. Nice staff came in to get a to get a to go order was out in 10min. I will be back forsure.
