Second time visiting this lovely small business and I gotta recommend it, especially if you can stop in for the lunch special! (katsu curry rice for $12!) Great Japanese comfort food crafted by caring hands. Food (5/5) - Good portion sizes at a relatively high price that comes with quality. Perfectly fried/juicy katsu, rich curry that is smooth, sweet but with umami depth and sides that are flavorful like pickled radish, cabbage, takoyaki, egg, taiyaki, and others. Service (5/5) - The sweetest staff with quick service and a chef that comes out to personally ask us how the food was (always good)! Ambiance (4/5) - This location is tiny with just about 4 tables inside and no bathroom if i recall, and the parking can be rough battling korean market moms and coffee shop fanatics next door. Probably more focused on to-go/delivery since it can't seat many inside. Regardless, the interior is cute, clean, and provides a rational eating environment for what it is. Check them out!

I ordered a bento box here because I was craving katsu and wanted to try something new, and I'm happy to say that Gingko Katsu Bento did not disappoint. The box came with fried dumplings, rice, taiyaki, salad, edamame, tamago, takoyaki, and, of course, the pork katsu. I appreciated the cute touch of the taiyaki being shaped like a panda also. It added a fun and unique element to the meal.Overall, it was a perfectly balanced meal that I really enjoyed. While nothing in particular stood out as extraordinary, the meal was hearty, satisfying, and delicious. I'd definitely order from here again and maybe dine in next time.

Came here for spam misubi, that's literally it. So glad this place does not add bonito flakes, as that's not for me. Spam was $7.88 for two pieces, a bit pricey, but fantastic. Rice was portioned well. Seaweed was tasty. Perfect 5 out of 7. Will return.

Hungry after yelp elite event and went to this local mom and pop shop near where we live. Low key I was try to start a small celebration of my husband's birthday but he paid so I guess it doesn't count. We were the only customers when we got there. We got there at 8pm and they close at 9pm. Cute Japanese couple. The wife took our order and the husband cooked our order. The pork cheese Katsu hit the spot for me because I love cheese. However my husband thought it was too cheesy for him. His fish Katsu was good. Never had fish Katsu before but it was airy and light. It was fried well. Bento box of a must order if you like variety. You can even order curry sauce on the side for $5 but we didn't do that. Next time we want to try their curry Katsu! Will definitely come back. Also their drinks are pretty good. It nice and light not too sweet. Cute little looking can drinks made by the wife of the restaurant. At the end, chef came out to greet us to see if we enjoyed the food he made. We assure him we did. Nice courtesy couple.

This place is really nice and ran by a lovely couple. It's hidden in the back behind Cafe Da Vein, so you could miss it. The cheese pork bento box and fried fish bento box were good. The breading was light and airy. Would come back. So great we decided to come here. The fish sandwich looks good will have to try it next time.

Chicken is moist unlike most places served dried and over cooked. Takoyaki is very authentic. They serve with a smile making it a nice experience.

This business deserves all the hype in the world, and I'm here to forever support it while I'm in Southern California. It's run by a sweet Japanese couple, and trust me, they serve some of the best katsu, and it's not greasy at all. I stumbled on this place randomly while craving katsu. Katsu is my favorite Japanese dish, whether I'm cooking it myself, with cheese inside, or with curry. I loved their bento box, which comes with Gyoza, Takoyaki, Egg Omelette, edamame, and pickles. It's reasonably priced and offers a variety of food to try. If you want only some of these items and want to keep it simple, stick with the regular katsu dishes with cabbage and rice. You need to try this spot! Parking is also easy, although it is in a crazy busy shopping center.

My bf and I were in the mood for some Katsu and this place was near my house so we decided to give it a try. Boy we're we satisfied, the owners are so nice and welcoming when I got there to pick up my order. My bf got the pork Katsu and I got the chicken Katsu burger and it was very much filling and delicious. I also got their white peach oolong tea and everything came out to $30 for 3 items. Can't wait to try more of their foods next time

The workers here were very nice. I thought the bento was so cute with the little chocolate chip panda waffle. -Literally got the bento because of the cute panda waffle but it was VERY mushy lik when you bite into it and the dough sticks everywhere in your mouth but I rather have that than it be dry so I didn't mind it too much it was still very cute haha. -the pork katsu was crispy but kind of dry. If it wasn't for the pickled veggie that they had and the sauce it would've been too dry for my liking.- the gyoza/tamago/takoyaki were average like you'd get at the ready food section of an Asian market.Would I spend $18 on this again probably not in this economy lol but I'm glad I tried it again loved the lil panda. Wish the food was a little better

We visited Japan 2 years ago and the food was amazing everywhere. My friend brought us here for dinner and we felt like we were dining in Japan! My wife is Japanese and was talking to the owners in Japanese before the food arrived, so right there we already had a high hope for a treat. We order Chicken Katsu Bento, Yakiniku Beef Bento, Udon Noodle, red bean dessert, and red bean ice cream. They were so authentic and delicious! We sat next to a young couple who is a repeat customer. They were from Huntington Beach and did not mind driving to Garden Grove to get their authentic Japanese Food Fix! We will be coming back to this place for sure!
