Awesome service and the food is amazing with no MSG added in any of the food. Great vegetarian options too. The orange chicken is awesome. Garlic string beans, fish, are all great. This is the only Chinese restaurant I go to now. The service is also 5 star!

I arrived after the dinner crowd had dissipated. I was a solo dinner but the service I received was very attentive. Service with a smile. My water glass was always full and my tea pot was always replenished with more hot water.I was really hoping the food would have been more flavorful. I ordered 2 dishes: pad thai and shrimp with lobster sauce. I was disappointed that both were pretty bland. Originally, I was going to order a sushi roll instead of the shrimp but I guess the susbi chefs had already left because I was told that I couldn't order from that part of the menu.As a solo diner, I obviously didn't finish both dishes (although I could have as I have in the past). The server was very nice and packed both for me. I had finished my brown rice so I was only expecting the main dishes to be packed in boxes. When I got home, they had packed another serving of brown rice for me. Thay was really nice of them!Service: 5/5 starsFood: 2/5 stars

We've enjoyed this location before but today, Christmas Eve, was DISAPPOINTING. We placed our order online at 11 am to pick up today at 5:45 pm. When we arrived at 5:30, the food was not ready. We waited but there were 6 people ahead of us. Half hour after the order was supposed to be ready, we asked the staff where our food was, they mentioned it should be up soon. 1/2 hour later, the food was not ready. When asked again, staff said it would take an hour for ONE dish to be ready and another hour for the rest of the food. It would have taken 2 1/2 hours for food we pre-ordered. We saw the staff prioritize walk-ins, sitting them and serving them 1/2 hour. HORRIBLE LET DOWN FROM THIS RESTAURANT we were excited to eat at.

What happened to this restaurant? I took my wife to The Fortune Cookies Restaurant for her birthday lunch. It was her choice as she has gone there before and loved the eggplant -chicken. Today when we walked in at 11:30 am there was a strong unpleasant musky oder, the air redolent of dead fish scented that permeated everything? Tim noticed the table top was sticky and felt unclean. My wife said that was considering leaving but we stayed. She said when het order arrived that her food was awful. Her eggplant was inedible and she could hardly, well she could not chew the eggplant skin. I like an idiot ordered Pad Thai w chicken even after the waiter said they had no NAM PRIK , NAM PLA or crushed pepper condiment's . I then noticed there were no condiment's on any of the tables, not even soy sauce? My Pat Thai wasn't! No peanuts, no mung bean shoots, just noodles on an ample amount of chicken and a few green onion leaves covered in what tasted like canned Campbell's tomato soup?I suppose the fault was mine as I had ordered a Thai dish in a Chinese Restaurant? However...!?

It's becoming hit or miss. Today the Orange Chicken was so overcooked that I couldn't fully chew some of the pieces. The fried rice needed soy sauce. The only steadily good items are the egg flower soup and the spicy mongol beef.

This is my second time coming here as a little date with my love, the staff and service is always amazing. During the weekends it is a bit busy but the food is so worth the wait. We came today during the weekday and it was not busy and yet again the food is amazing !! 10000/10. The waiter is so kind and kept checking on us if everything was okay. Which we were more than okay! We was munching away this delicious food. The pictures can not do justice how tasting looking the food is. If your around this area do not hesitate to eat here(: I highly recommend it!

Step into Fortune Cookies for a surprising culinary journey of authentic Chinese flavors. Despite its modest exterior, the dishes inside pack a flavorful punch. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and promptly served our Mo Po Tofu, Honey Glazed Walnut Shrimp, and Thai Style Black Pepper Beef. Each dish surpassed expectations, with tender beef, crispy yet juicy shrimp, and flavorful tofu that left us craving more. What truly impressed us was the genuine taste of Chinese cuisine in every bite. If you're longing for authentic flavors, Fortune Cookies is a must-visit destination. Prepare to be delighted by the delicious food and attentive service.

Fortune Cookies in Fountain Valley is one of our go-to Chinese restaurants. We order take out around once every two months and have never been disappointed. Our normal order is honey-walnut shrimp, beef broccoli and orange chicken, standard fare from a Chinese takeout. Always delivered on time (usually early) and fresh and hot. We will continue to enjoy this restaurant in the future.

I think I might have found another gem in the OC as far as Asian restaurants go. Fortune Cookies makes delicious food and the service was awesome. My friend threw his partner a small birthday party here with my help. They were so accommodating and super friendly. They let us reserve a spot for 10-12 people, allowed us to decorate our reserved spot, store a homemade birthday cake in their refrigerator, and even let us stay after closing. The food was very delicious. I had ordered the rainbow roll as an appetizer and the kung pao chicken as the main course. I wish the white rice wasn't communal because there were a lot of people at the party that had bigger appetites and it wasn't enough for all of us. We definitely had to order more but I think an individual portion of white rice would've been better to control the amount each person has. The pricing was a little steep. For a rainbow roll, kung pao chicken (not pictured), white rice, and 2 refills on drinks cost close to $50 including tax and tip.Food was delicious, service was awesome, pricing was moderate but I'm always glad to help out a mom and pop restaurant. If I'm in the area, I will definitely come back to Fortune Cookies.

My family and I had the worse dining experience today. The waiter was very rude. He took our order and didn't repeat it back, something waiters usually do. So for that reason, I received two orders of the same thing. As I was speaking to him about the mistake, he cut me off and said "no that's what you ordered" and walked away. We received no apology and he stopped waiting our table. I had to flag down another employee to service us and correct his mistake. This is unacceptable. If he didn't want to wait our table anymore, at least ask someone else to take over. This does not represent the restaurant well and changes need to be made so that he doesn't do this to someone else in the future. I shouldn't be paying for something that I didn't ask for. The food also didn't taste good. We got the orange chicken and kung pao. The soup was also very salty.
