Foretti's

We can't believe we haven't discovered this place earlier. Fun-&-lively on a Friday night! With the main dining room's tables in close proximity to each other and seated in a high-traffic area, I focused on keeping my elbows at my sides and limiting my arm movements. We started with a strong-&-tasty Negroni, a glass of wine (generous pour!), their Caesar Salad (with anchovies -- we'd never been served anchovies as large as these!), and San Daniela (tender and tasty on a refreshing bed of arugula).Our entrees:Pappardelle Lamb Ragu ($28) -- savory, full of flavor, and the pappardelle was a nice width and texture, cooked al dente; andLinguine Black ($32) -- a flavorful tomato sauce with a tasty-&-attractive variety of seafood (although 3 of my large clams did not open).The energetic, knowledgeable, and attentive staff -- including the host desk -- provided wonderful customer service, despite being visibly busy! We look forward to returning to experience more of their menu items ... very soon!

The food is outstanding. We were a group of 5 and had a variety of dishes. Both Beet and carrot salads were terrific. Golden beets salad had beets sliced like carpaccio and dressed perfectly w arugula. Meatballs were perfect. Marinara sauce perfectly seasoned. Eggplant and veal parm both tasty. Veal Marsala wasn't our favorite. Veal had funky flavor. Healthy salmon pasta was a generous portion.We were unfortunately seated by the restroom, in the future we would wait for a different table. Our waiter was distracted and got 2 of our 5 entree orders wrong which had to be remade. Half guests had dinner while others had no entree. Is Robert new? He spent a lot of time chatting with other guests while we waited for things we requested.

We arrived on a busy night with reservations and were seated very quickly. The owner is lovely and he really takes care of the customers and staff. The place is like home, and everyone genuinely appears to like working there; no doubt due to the owner. The food however was just okay. Nothing bad. Nothing exceptional. The pizza was just good but didn't stand out. The pink bow tie pasta was probably the best out of everything. The Caesar salad was good. The octopus was not what we expected due to a photo I saw on yelp. It was actually thin sliced and really good but extremely tiny portion with a ton of arugula on top, with no dressing, disgusting the portion size. The soup was extremely flavorless. Their white lemon sauce on the shrimp was great which leads me to believe the chef is a sauce connoisseur because the sauce on the pink bow tie was also great. Overall I'd be back because we live nearby and maybe we just want Italian but not for anything specific. I would come back to maybe try more items on the menu. Yelp still doesn't allow for half stars - sigh! Foretti's is a solid 3.5 but not 4 so I had to round down sorry!). But I would say if you want pasta give them a try. You'll enjoy the cozy, homey and lovely staff.

I came here recently for the first time and was very impressed. The service and ambience was very nice. The quality of the food and prices were excellent. It's a small venue which created a feeling of being in someone's home. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We had a lovely experience here! The parking is a little tricky, but the staff let us park in a spot that was reserved which was really kind of them. It may be a good idea to give yourself a little bit of extra time just in case parking is limited. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. The restaurant smelled delicious and you can see a big pizza oven from the dining area. The restaurant is pretty dark inside and has some seating on a patio with heaters. I had the short rib pasta which was excellent and kind of similar to bolognese as far as the taste of the sauce. It was wonderful and the noodles tasted freshly made. The gnocchi was equally as delicious and had a creamy brown butter sauce. The gnocchi melted in your mouth and were so yummy. I would come back here in a heartbeat and I am so excited to try the pizza sometime.

The food and service here are always spot on. Fast, efficient and very friendly. They make you feel like it's home away from home. I tried their special seafood of the night which had salmon, branzino and a scallop. The salmon was my favorite. I ordered it medium rare so it was perfect for me. Also tried their calamari. Crispy and tender pieces.

Rigo is the best waiter in town! Owner Thad does an amazing job. Great Italian food and delicious wines. Love the vibe and everything we have ever ordered has been so yummy! Must try when in town for anybody looking for authentic Italian cuisine and fresh seafood.

We so enjoyed our evening at Foretti's. We were looking at Yelp after attending an afternoon get-together at Crystal Cove and decided to try them. We were warmly greeted and then seated quickly in the open air section. We enjoyed the ambiance and the music was nice but not too loud. Roberto was our server and he was terrific. We told him we were new and he shared with us some of his favorite dishes. We had the short rib pasta and the healthy salmon pasta. Both had a lot of flavor! We also loved the bread and the pesto & EVO for dipping. Yum! Between our terrific server, the ambiance and the food, we'll definitely return.

This place feels like the local restaurants I used to go to when I lived in NY. Authentic food. Good. Service is good. Ambiance is nice and warm. Salads are good. Anything we order has always been good.

First and foremost , the Food is always Amazing ! From the ownership down to the management, servers and cooks ....Everyone is wonderful! Highly recommend!!
