FishBonz Casual Seafood Grill

I haven't been to this place in a while as I haven't been in Torrance but I'm delighted to say that it was as good as ever. I opted for the Ahi Bowl and got mine with greens (a generous portion of salad greens), grilled long slices of zucchini and grilled corn. Then topped with Ahi! Delicious. As the name implies the place is casual. One orders at the counter - heads up SENIORS - they offer a discount. Head to a table and listen for your number. Indoor and outdoor seating. Ample parking.

Note :: FishBonz is closed on Mondays. Nonetheless, I have been patronizing this restaurant since it opened for business. Between their beginning and now, I think they have streamlined their menu; however, as I tend to order the same items over and over again, I can say that their cooking has always been consistent. The price relative to portion served has always delivered value.

This is one of my favorite places to come to in torrance. Just good freshly cooked fish... We always order their fish and chips. Good portions and we just love coming here for it. I also like to order their plain grilled white fish in their lemon garlic butter. It's simple, clean, and perfectly cooked. If my two little children can eat it - it means it's good. We also order clam chowder depending on the mood. It's a hit or miss with that one. It hasn't been consistent enough for us to always order it. There are indoor and outdoor seating. If you get lucky, you can grab a table near the water fountain outside for the kids to be entertained while they eat.

This is one of my top ten Southbay's favorite places to eat, everything you order it's good! To show why they are one of my top ten, there was a BOGO deal one of those apps where you can order food. I ordered the white fish with grilled zuccuni and white rice for order number one, since FishBonz had a few other BOGO choices, I coudn't pass on that deal and also ordered a second dish.... the battered fish and chips with fries and white rice. I didn't have to worry for tomorrow's lunch and dinner anymore! Food was amazingly delicious and fresh! The white fish would melt in your mouth, didn't even need the wedge of lemon to add flavor. Battered fish was so crunchy and really tasty. The tartar sauce doesn't have the strong flavor sometimes some do, this one it's just perfect. These four orders for only $27 with its BOGO deal. Let's just say that today's catch, was a great catch!!!

Cute location, "interesting" service, and food was only okay. I came here to try something new. The food looked amazing in photos online, and seemed to have a similar offering as Crazy Fish, one of my favorite spots.The service was weird. They give you a "number" that you typically bring to your table because that's how the server identifies your order. However, they don't bring your food. They call your number out on the speakers. So it's completely pointless for them to give out table holders with your number on it because you have to go to the counter to retrieve your order yourself. Makes zero sense, and the primary reason a tip wasn't left on the table.As for the food, it was underwhelming. I ordered the maine lobster tail with rice and corn on the side. The rice and corn were probably the most bland sides I've had in my life. There was absolutely nothing seasoned or special about them. The lobster tail was good, but the garlic sauce was extremely salty. The roughy was okay, but quite dry!I will admit, the crabcakes were DELECTABLE! They were fried to perfection and just tasted AMAZING! I would actually return here to get the crab cakes "TO GO" and nothing else. It truly made the meal worth having. 10/10 crabcakes!

I have been looking for a place that serves Clam Chowder Bread Bowls because my family loves them and they are kinda hard to find (unless I'm just not good at looking for one). This place serves such a great option at a reasonable price and my guys think it's delicious...and we'll definitely be return customers. I had the Shrimp Po' Boy sandwich and it was SO tasty, served alongside well-seasoned crispy french fries. I will definitely be trying their other sandwiches and switching up my orders when we make our numerous returns.It's a casual dining, order-at-the-counter situation. There is a station for various sauces and salsas, ketchup and what-not. The service is friendly. And the dining area is fairly large although I can see it getting pretty crowded and busy during peak times. Highly recommend for a casual seafood experience.

Went here for lunch and it was generally a good experience. We ordered a salmon bowl with rice and grilled zucchini and a grilled ahi tuna plate with rice and zucchini. What we didn't receive was a bowl of clam chowder. I ate half my meal and had to ask where was the clam chowder and the server looked at a guy stirring a pot and he said it would take 4 minutes. So they sold me a bowl of chowder knowing it was not yet cooked. I asked for a refund. The service is not the friendliest but at least the restaurant was clean and plenty of tables inside and in the patio. It was pretty cold outside and the wind blew inside every time someone opened the door. Overall, we enjoyed the food and the salsa bar. The service could be better for what you're paying. It's moderately price and we spent $50 for two people for lunch. Looks like a lot of people had clam chowder in a bread bowl. It's too bad that I can't write a review about the soup.

I don't know why this place has any reviews under 5 stars because it always hits the spot!! Everything I order here has always been delicious but my nonstop orders recently have been the fish n chips and poke salad. The fish n chips here are the best I have ever had. The poke salad is also a good combination with the fish n chips because it's fresh and refreshing. There's plenty of indoor and nice outdoor seating as well. It's a casual seafood spot but I definitely recommend for really good food. The servers are always kind and helpful. The sauces are self-serve so you can get plenty of tartar sauce!!

I've found myself passing by Fishbonz so many times but it wasn't until recently that I tried this place out during a lunch with my mom. We chose to get a Build Your Own Combo Plate with a Battered Fish Taco, Pan Seared Filet Mignon Taco and sides of grilled zucchini and rice. We also got a Clam Chowder sop and a side of Battered Zucchini.Overall was definitely impressed with the portions. The Combo Plate was perfect for splitting and I was impressed with how much Filet Mignon they gave in the taco! I definitely want to get more tacos from here in the future. The taco was quite fulfilling and tasty.The one thing I was disappointed in was the side of Battered Zucchini. I love fried zucchini and it's definitely one of those once in awhile indulgences that I like enjoy when I see it on a menu. The Battered Zucchini here was nicely fried and I did like the crisp texture. What I didn't enjoy however is the saltiness of the zucchini. It was way too salty! My mom similarly made a comment about the Battered Fish and that it too was too saltyOverall I do think this is a good place but I think they may need to work on that salt they add in their dishes.
