El Cabo Pepe's - Pepe's Red Tacos

We came here today after a walk around The Pike. Carmen is who pulled us in! With her friendliness and thorough explanation of each item we asked about.We ordered the bone marrow, the birria ramen, the molitas and birria tacos. Everything was absolutely delicious!! They provided seating and were playing music the vibe was definitely different and fun. I highly recommend checking these guys out!

Tasty BirriaLocation had outdoor seating which was nice. Staff were quick with the food. Salsas were tasty too.

We had just came back from the aquarium and a little shopping, so came to check out the food trucks. We ordered here because my cousin and I decided to share the Sample Platter and they had burgers and hot dogs for the kids. The Sample Platter came with two Quesi Taco, a Taco Suave, and a Taco Dorado. It was all good, just wish we had more of their hot sauce. The kids liked their burgers and hotdogs, but the hamburger buns were a bit over-toasted. Service was friendly.

My favorite thing to do when traveling for work is to sample the street food in the area.Pepe's Red got me off to a great start. I enjoyed the Birria ramen and the taco suave a great deal.The horchata was nice. Although heavy on the nutmeg.Very happy with the lunch they offered!

It's a chilly, rainy Long Beach evening, so I wanted something close, and birria sounded perfect. The food is top-notch! Lots of meat and cheese in a soft tortilla, with a crunchy fried tortilla on the outside. Not cheap, $22 for three birria/cheese tacos with a small side of rice, beans, salsa and consume, but it is California, so...yeah.The service was quick and friendly, and the meal came with a bag of onion, cilantro, radish and limes.A delicious, filling, entirely satisfying meal for a wet, chilly evening. Perfect.

Just a few things to remember... CALL before you go. We were originally going to go-to their DTLA location but the only one open was in Long Beach this past Sunday. Also, remember that this is a food truck so there are no places to sit and eat. The hubs and I ordered a few items to try. We got the birria ramen.. 5/5... So freaking good!!! Just get it! The broth was rich and delicious! And the kicker to this was that their chili oil... Yes they had their own chili oil and it gives some Chinese restaurants a run for their money! Lol it was better than their salsa to be honest. And it added a delicious heat to the ramen. Then we got a quesitaco... Yes quesadilla and a taco rolled into one. It was very very cheesy but in a good way. It definitely needed a squeeze of lime or rather lemon. I definitely prefer lime over lemon but that was all they had. To be honest though, the way that the silly chain is right now though... I give them props for having lemon. This one was ok. The hubs loved it but for me it was a little too greasy. We also got the dorado tacos which were the crispy tacos. These were good but definitely needed the consomme and the salsa to give it more flavor. They also had aqua frescas and they were great! They let you try it before you buy the aqua frescas. The cucumber one was FANTASTIC! I would recommend this. The horchata was ok at first but as you drank more, it got sweeter and sweeter... Which meant that after about 5 sips I had to throw it away. :( Overall, I recommend this place but call before you go to make sure that the location that you want to goto is open. The website is outdated as well so don't trust it. Just call them and ask where they are. The people were friendly but if you speak Spanish, it's a plus. There was only one guy that could speak English so if you know Spanish it helps. And as far as I could see, everything looked as clean as it could be as it was a food truck. Lol but that's part of the charm of going to a food truck you know?

I was feaning for some bone-marrow taco, and this HIT THE SPOT. Its a beef birria truck, this is the original truck that used to be in East LA on Olympic. I talked to the worker since we went looking for it one day. He said Olympic is saturated with birria trucks so it makes sense.The truck is across the street from the Pike(Aquarium Parking, in front of the Outlets, so parking sucks. Most likely will have to pay for parking.We got the Huesi-taco, which is a big cooked Bone Marrow with a side of crunchy taco. Comes with onion/cilantro, salsa and broth. You basically scrape the marrow on to the taco... omgaaawd so damn good. Only thing stopping it from getting 5 stars is no where to sit and eat, they give lemon instead of lime, and the salsa did not have much kick. Still so good tho

Truck was scheduled to attend and event in Downey and did not show up. The truck was unresponsive the day of the event.

Top tier quesabirria tacos. Must get the spiciest salsa to get the full flavor experience. Ordered 2 and with how delicious they were probably would've ordered more for later. Must stop by for a quick bite. We were the first ones for the day and the food was fresh and quickly made. Would stop again when around.

Phenomenal service and life changing food at a fun location. Highly recommend the sample plate.
