I love their fried chicken, I also love their Mac and cheese although it's not extra cheesy however it still doesn't lack flavor. Overall, this place doesn't really let me down.

So nice, had to do it twice! I grabbed food from here last week and today and both times, everything was so yummy! This time I got the smothered chicken breast which wasn't dry and the gravy was 10/10! The mac n cheese was perfectThe mashed potatoes with gravy was AMAZING! I am in love with their gravy. I also got their banana pudding to try and it was a delicious dessert treat! I will say, parking can be a nightmare. The parking lot is tiny and there's cars everywhere blocking other cars. I suggest driving behind where you can do street parking without breaking a sweat.

I was not impressed with this place. I had fried chicken (leg & thigh). Both were dry. But the skin was very good. Ribs. They tasted boiled with bbq sauce no seasoning. Dressing was dry and sweet. I'm not a fan of sweet dressing and the greens which were sweet and tangy. Needless to say it was a waste of $39.00. I will not be back.

Dear Delicious Southern Cuisine restaurant, I have personally witnessed so many people who love what you do! From bringing out the big platters of budget-priced takeout and offering reduced prices for catering services during the pandemic, to your Juneteenth service for the whole community, it will be my mission to bring my friends and family here till you own the five star average you so sincerely deserve! (ALWAYS PUT THE MISSION FIRST!)Delicious Southern Cuisine is a family-owned restaurant with great service featuring delicious Southern, Cajun, Creole and Soul Food at affordable prices. If you rated this place less than three stars, I urge ya to give her another try! This restaurant offers catering, delivery, takeout and dine-in options.Located steps away from the metro with free parking in the rear. Plentiful ready-made meals, snacks and drinks available for easy purchase make this place a great option for takeout on-the-job or on the way home.Everything I've tried here is good. The barbequed ribs are melt-off the bone tender. The smothered chicken is a crowd favorite and very tasty. The seafood gumbo, my favorite dish here, is made to order and worth the wait! The small sized portion of seafood gumbo is big. It's a decadent stew with okra, onions, carrots, and a savory caramel rouix and a really generous portion of fresh crab, shrimp, fish and other shellfish. My family and I compared it to famous restaurants in Louisiana as we enjoyed eating it.I found this restaurant thanks to posted pictures online from grateful customers who ordered big platters of takeout food during the pandemic. Delicious Southern Cuisine restaurant offers catering services for large events and big trays of Soul Food for budget prices.Gumbo has a long beautiful history. It is America's national soup! The name Gumbo originates from the west African word "ngumbo" which means "Okra". Okra was brought to the United States by enslaved west Africans who carried the seeds in their pockets.Native Americans introduced sassafras and file to Gumbo. Spanish and French chefs added rouix, "the holy trinity" and peppers in their versions. Louisiana-style gumbo is known for combining the contributions of many cultures.Southern Louisiana style gumbo originally featured a rich combination of seafood and shellfish with plenty of okra, -similar to the gumbo here.Check out the featured prayer, awards, plaques and beautiful family photos on the wall behind the register as you pay for your takeout. Read the signs about supporting black-owned businesses as you enjoy your dine-in meal on the patio.Yesterday, on JUNETEENTH, 2023, I picked up takeout food for my beloved family member's birthday dinner. It was a great day to see this restaurant serving customers and the community.During the parade and JUNETEENTH celebration I watched hands giving fist bumps, reaching out to pull up people from the sidewalk and pushing elderly people in wheelchairs to this restaurant.Live music and DJs performed as thousands of people danced through the street.A weathered American flag waves in the wind perfectly centered across from this restaurant for everyone to view on the cute patio tables in front.I overheard lots of compliments about the food while I waited in line to order from many happy restaurant guests.A famous gumbo chef and great Lady, Leah Chase said every problem can be solved by sharing a bowl of gumbo. Leah's seafood gumbo recipe looks a lot like this restaurant's version.African American contributions are the star of America's national soup. I tried to recreate this dish at home with love in tribute and it came out pretty good!My favorite bowl of gumbo in Los Angeles and the world. I feel very fortunate to have found this restaurant and to share it with my friends, family and honored to recommend it to you.

Is The Food Consistent?I'm still eating here ya'll. I live in San Diego, CA and make a special trip here each month. I fast the day prior because I'm going to get the 'itis'. I don't deviate from what I order. Fried sea bass, collard greens, yams, cornbread, barbecue chicken, potato salad, meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, cactus cooler and a slice of sweet potato pie.HAS THE QUALITY OF FOOD CHANGED?I'll be honest the macaroni and cheese will not be included in my next future meals. They can do better. They have also shortchanged on the sea bass size filet. The cornbread muffins are not necessarily delicious by themselves, but they are perfect when you smash them in the greens and the pot liquor.I DON'T LIKE THE WAY THE OUTSIDE LOOKS. SHOULD I EAT HERE?I think it's time to upgrade the outside aesthetics as well as inside. Because you're in the hood does not mean your food establishment has to look hoodish. There's enough economic flow for this to be improved.ANYTHING ELSEYes. Always tip the food handlerd. Never an attitude, they make the portions right. Dey not trippin' off of nada.PARKINGParking can be a challenge. I usually come between 2-4 PM. I call in the order and it is ready to be devoured. Accepts cash, card and food delivery services

The best definition of average. I've eaten here a couple times over the years. Breakfast, office catering and lunch today. The Po Boy I ordered took a little longer than usual to get ready so I watched other customers, order pay, then carry-out while I waited. I got it with a side of Mac & cheese. The sandwhich wasn't bad. I like Tatar sauce on my fish which they did not have. Luckily I had some mayo in the fridge of the office which I had to squeeze on every bite. The sammich could've used some pickles too. Mac was just ok. Service was ok but it's not the most welcoming spot on the block. Bottom line: it's aight, for a decent price. I remember their fried chicken being good so maybe I should just stick to that.

My friend treated us to dinner here and it was a solid choice for soul food. If you are familiar with Dulan's this is on par with that. It's the cafeteria style for serving as well. Here's what we got:Smothered chicken - The gravy was good. But the chicken was tough to me. Maybe it's from sitting for a while. Fried chicken - well seasoned Baked fish - good flavor and tender Candied Yams - I'm not a fan of yams. But I did taste a little and it was good and sweet. Mashed Potatoes and gravy - the potatoes were fine, but the gravy is good as I mentioned before. So this was good. Mac and cheese - I thought the flavor was ok. My husband didn't like it. But the texture was a bit mushy which of course happens when it's been sitting for a while. Cornbread muffins - These are on the sweeter side. They were moist and the perfect size to accompany a meal. Collard greens - These were my favorite thing from there. They were a little sweet and tangy with a nice smoky flavor. I didn't see any meat in the portion that we had. I'm not sure if meat is used to make this. The texture was perfect too. All in all this place was solid. I'd go again if I was in the area and had a hankering for some souls food.

The first time I went here I loved the food! It's expensive, and they really don't give a lot of food for the price, I paid $35 for 4 oxtails that weren't even whole oxtails it looks like they were cut into quarters, it came with rice and two sides. The past 2 time I went I was absolutely disappointed! I ordered the short ribs (plural) with two sides for $27, but when I got home it was only 1 short rib (singular) and it was salty. For these prices you should receive more food. I won't be ordering from here anymore, I will take my business elsewhere.Check your food before you leave to make sure you have a decent portion of food.
