Between Taco Bell and Del Taco, I don't think you can go wrong with one or the other, but know that neither will five star wow you in any way, shape, or form. However, if you want tacos on a budget, I would recommend Del Taco over its arch-nemesis as they do taco specials on days that start with a T. Yes, that includes Thursday even though we usually associate tacos with Tuesday, but you definitely can't go wrong with Taco Thursday either!This Del Taco is located at Long Beach Town Square on the southeast corner of Cherry and Carson. Same plaza as LA Fitness and Ralphs, but Del Taco is on the opposite side of those two, just steps away from Carson.What the Cravings Value Menu is to Taco Bell, the 20 under $2 is to Del Taco. You get more budget-friendly choices at Del Taco than you do at Taco Bell, but I believe you'd get more bang for your buck at Taco Bell instead. That's not to say Del Taco is worse, but I personally believe the 20 under $2 is geared more for snacks instead.After you make a purchase online or through the app, Del Taco will send out email surveys, and if you fill them out, you'll get a coupon that will save you $1 when you spend $3+. So going back to the 20 under $2, what you could do is purchase two items that barely exceed $3, and then use that coupon to get two snacks for just over $2. Or you could get enough tacos, either on Tuesday or Thursday, and essentially spend just over $2 on three tacos. Just throwing some suggestions out there, but definitely use the $1 off when you get a chance!On my most recent visit, I used the $1 off when they had a special going on for two Grilled Chicken Stuffed Quesadilla Tacos for $4. Normally, they would be $5, so saving $2 on those quesadilla tacos was a pretty nice deal! And the quesadilla tacos weren't bad either, though they were missing that secret sauce that my taste buds strongly desired. Guac perhaps? You do get sauce packets upon request, but I think they could do one better. I don't know if I'd call it that healthy, but I did feel pretty good after eating these hearty tacos, which are topped with lettuce, cheese, and even tomatoes.The drive thru, unfortunately, can be a little slow, so this is one location I would recommend going inside to pick up your order. I don't do this often for Taco Bell because in their app, you have to specify a time for pickup in store. For Del Taco, you simply hit the check-in button on your email to indicate your arrival, which would then prompt the kitchen staff to prepare your order. I prefer checking in, especially if I have to be somewhere else beforehand, and I don't know how long it would take before I can make it to Del Taco.Another drawback with this drive thru is how small the immediate lot is between Del Taco and Carl's Jr. If the drive thru line gets long, the parking situation in that immediate lot could get messy. Your best bet would be to park at an angled parking stall closer to LA Fitness.Overall, it's not a bad Del Taco to go to if you want something cheap, but from my experience here, I'm speculating that this location cranks out orders slower than the other ones nearby.

Located off Carson St. in Long Beach. Parking is shared with all the other businesses in the center. The place is clean inside. I did a mobile order for the first time it went pretty smooth. I got the jumbo shrimp tacos, red burrito and cheddar quesadilla. Everything was fine however my quesadilla was a little below average I do get this from various Del Tacos this one was a bit on the harder side meaning the cheese was not as melty. I also got the strawberry lemonade which was good. Overall it's Del Taco had a good experience and it's nearby work so I have this as an option for lunch as well.

Overall - it's what you expect - fast food. Most things I've had here are good. The strawberry shake was NOT what I expected - it was so delicious! Berries in the shake. Yummmmm!I actually came today for the birria Ramen which is quite the rage in the LA food scene these days. (Not from here, just in general.) I actually threw the Ramen away without eating it. It was not good. The noodles were gummy. The broth was salty but no other real flavor. Bleh.

I give 5 stars because their menu is affordable!! They still kept the size of servings. A burrito is still a huge burrito! Not like Taco bell that a burrito Supreme looks like a taquito now!Stayed true to their customers. Other then that this place is ghetto. You get what you paid for! The great ambiance.Again Cheap affordable meals.

There was good and not so good. I got a cheese quesadilla. It tasted good. But it was a complete mess. The cheeses and green Chile's were everywhere. I got a green bean and cheese burrito. Tons of beans and hardly no cheese or sauce. Maybe they used it all on the quesadilla! I got a cheeseburger and it was not even warm. A homeless guy was sitting in the drive-thru on a curb. Super uncomfortable.

Kinda find it's unbelievable that I couldn't order multiple orders while in the drive thru. I work with mental disabilities people, and the drive thru cashier stated they couldn't do that. Stopping me and my team from ordering food for our outings wasn't so friendly. I don't know why it was so hard to take more orders if that's your job. Very disappointed customer service. Even tho it was cheap, I wouldn't return because that was just rude and unnecessary.

I had two ground beef soft tacos and two hard shell tacos. Normally I love Del Taco, but this time it was disappointing. The two.soft tacos barely had any meat or cheese. Also the two crunchy tacos had stale shells. Not very good.

I am convinced this location intentionally does not give you your entire order at the drive thru, pocketing millions in savings for food that was paid for, but not made. This is the only answer. They "forget" to put something in the bags more often than not. Almost every time. Even if they tell you what's in each bag as they hand it out the window, don't fall for it. Check the bags. I usually drive to the DT on Willow in Signal Hill (who never messes up my order, btw), but sometimes I need to be able to quickly get food from the one closest to my house. As I type this, I'm eating my fry-less dinner because I didn't check the bags.
