Dash Dashi Sushi & Sake Bar

10/10 experience at Dash Dashi! The team here was so kind and accommodating. We brought a group for a birthday and they were so excited to help us serve the cake at the end and even gave us candles to use because we forgot to bring some. And they were able to accommodate a large and growing group! The restaurant was not too busy on a Monday night, perfect for an intimate dinner. The menu was robust and creative, with the basics as well as speciality items. All the food came out quick and very fresh. We ordered 2 "surprise" rolls, which basically means they are unique every time and you won't know what is in the roll before it arrives to the table. She didn't give us any hints but did take requests/preferences! And the rolls came out beautifully and so good. The style of them and quality were comparable to their other intricate speciality rolls. We were also pleasantly surprised by the prices which were reasonable for the area ($5-8 for basic rolls, $14-19 for speciality rolls, $5-15 for apps). Definitely check them out in Manhattan Beach for a nice sushi spot!

We walked right up to the sushi bar and it was so nice to be greeted and helped right away!Their plum wine is very sweet yet solid and the Sapporo on tap brought my husband back to life after a long work week. We got the Hot Wave, Hedgehog, and Philly roll (love a basic Philly roll). The specialty rolls are very thoughtfully produced and attentive to detail. The rolls were refreshing and filling. We wanted to order more but were so full after 3 shared rolls! Their prices are very affordable and I hear that they have a great happy hour.

Great restaurant & location with friendly customer service!Food: We ordered 6 different sushi rolls and shared them. The quality was 7/10 average. But for the price (we went during happy hour), it was 100% fair and good. I enjoyed the 2 special rolls we ordered - one had shrimp tempura and the other one was a spicy tuna special roll (which was the best one)!Location: Located right by Manhattan beach pier. There's no direct view from the restaurant, but it's right by the beach which made for a really nice view after we finished eating. Service: Super friendly staff. The 2 ladies that served us were very attentive and kind. Atmosphere: Clean and posh inside. Not good for a big party, as space is limited, but would be super nice for a friend get together or with 2-4 people! We really enjoyed this restaurant and can definitely see ourselves coming back! Thank you especially to the 2 amazing servers!

Visited Manhattan Beach and found this pretty good Sushi spot. Food was delicious, place/decor was simple but very clean and service was friendly. I'll definitely be back. 5/5.

SO fun! What a wonderful experience. The food is delicious and the waitresses Winnie and Nan were so amazing and made it unforgettable. Highly recommend.

Really good unique rolls! If you're feeling adventurous and want to try bold flavors in sushi, then this is the place to go. They also have classic nigiris and sashimis. It's nice and quaint inside but you can tell that it's clean. Servers are also nice.

My new favorite sushi place. The quality of the fish is truly amazing for the price. We got the jump scallop and bluefin toro nigiri, a spicy edamame, a sashimi platter petit, a hot wave roll, spicy tuna on crispy rice, and house sake.Everything was so fresh! I've never had a spicy edamame where the flavor was that good. It didn't taste like chilis/sauces just drizzled onto the edamame. It was sautéed with more unique flavors that really made the dish for me. The platter came with a salad and soup and even those were soo good. The only thing I didn't really like was the house sake but it was cheap (around $7 for a small hot sake), we just wanted to try out, for fun. I've already booked my next reservation. This place is truly soo good!

WOW! What a fun restaurant! Our server Winnie (win-ee) was very charismatic and fun! She treated us to an adorable "Dashi Bear" for dessert: which was this cute little orange cut into the shape of a teddy bear. The restaurant was very clean and modern. Not too dark though! The perfect ambiance for our first date. As for the food: we tried a LOT of items. The Uni was unbelievably Delicious! So fresh and buttery. Imported fresh from Japan! The oysters were also fresh and delicious as well! Perfectly dressed with a little sauce. We enjoyed every appetizer we ordered. As for the sushi, the best fish was certainly the toro and the yellowtail. Sadly, the rice was not very moist or fresh!! Maybe because it was the end of the night, but that was the only part that fell short in our meal. The staff made this such a fun and delicious experience! Grateful for their recommendations and friendly service! Hope to come back here when I'm back in the area!!

Had reservations on a Sunday evening here and the waitress was so rude that we just left after ordering some green tea. I asked for green tea initially and right after, the waitress remarked "that's it?" And when I asked her for recommendations, she told me to look at a board I couldn't see or find. She also rushed the ordering process, stating there was a "big party" that would be ordering so that we would be delayed. When we got up 5 minutes later, I looked over and there was no big party in sight, just some parents and a baby. Will not be back!They could also stand to clean the tables a little better.

Come for the happy hour! M-F 5-6pm and Sat-Sun 3-5pm. Prices are very affordable and more importantly, their service is great! Cocktails are 50% off (win)! Super closeto the pier. Definitely coming back again :)
