Danny's Hamburger Stand

This little food stand is on the Marina Boardwalk next to the fountain that is in front of the LB Aquarium. They also have an ice cream cart off to the side of their grilling/drink/snack cart.DH and I needed a hearty snack while on our daily walk, but didn't want to spend a lot of cash or time sitting in one of the restaurants along the marina. So we tried Danny's Hamburger Stand. It was a good call.We both ordered the cheeseburger combo, which is a cheeseburger with your choice of bagged chips and your choice of drink (soda pop in cans or bottled water). $6 for the combo-CHEAP!I expected the meat was going to be precooked and removed from a "warmer" unit, but NO! The ground beef is cooked from fresh on a grill in the back of the cart while you wait. It took about 7 minutes or so and our burgers were wrapped in paper (like an In-and-Out burger), ready to eat while on the go.The burger is just a little thicker than a standard McDonald's hamburger, but it had really good "grill" flavor. I opted for the standard toppings offered: Grilled onions (perfectly cooked, BTW!), generous amount of crisp lettuce, large tomato slice and Thousand Island dressing.Mayo, ketchup, mustard and relish packets are also conveniently available if you so desire.This was a very satisfying burger and just the right size, too. Not too huge to get into your mouth, but not skimpy and wimpy like McDonald's.Good, fresh, tasty ingredients! Try it, you'll like it! :-)
