A great italian place in fashion island. We dined here on christmas eve and the only option for reservation for our party was the outdoor patio. The great thing was that it's heated and we really loved the christmas decorations. However, it was quite dark. I understand the ambience works better with dim lighting but it was extremely dim to the point I had to use my iPhone flashlight to see the menu, and I never had to pull it out before. The food was great. We ordered the margherita pizza and the soppressata and fennel sausage pizza. Both were fantastic options. Also, we ordered the braised lamb and short rib pasta. I would definitely recommend those pastas. The meat was tender and the pasta was cooked well. I personally ordered the wagyu hanger steak as well, but I can't really recommend it. Meat was pretty tough. The service was okay, but it was a busy night so they were all working really hard. Would definitely come back for the pastas and pizzas. We enjoyed all the desserts as well.

Came here on a weekday for lunch. They had very cute Christmas decor & music playing outside in the patio. I'm pleasantly surprised why it's not packed here. The service was quick, and friendly. The server made such great recommendations & checked up on us during & after our meal. We had the grilled octopus which I truly enjoyed all the fresh basil, onions, tomatos that brought out such a nice aromatic that enhanced the dish. For the main course, we ordered the short rib mafaldine & soppressata pizza. The pizza was HUGE but was cooked to perfection. Flavors were exceptional & our server offered us chopped chilis & fresh Parmesan cheese without having to request it. The short rib mafaldine was very hearty and smaller portion... I wish there was a little more pasta in it but that's because it was that good! We finished everything and looking forward to bringing our family here to try!

An enjoyable evening at cucina in fashion island on a Friday night. I tried the Negroni riserva which when I asked from the server what the diff is from regular Negroni, she said it's just richer. It was good but like a normal Negroni. I have the burrata and pear salad and a bit of the meatball for appys. Both good but nothing special. For dinner I shared the burger and the cioppino with my wife. Burger was very indulging. The aside salad was soaked in balsamic and super sweet. Cioppino was good but hoped for a bit more fish for the price. Ambiance was great as the place was packed and buzzing.

My Newest Favorite Place in Newport Beach!Edgar H. was our friendly, efficient, and considerate waiter. Thanks to him and all wonderful staff, including the coolest manager ever...Anthony, our group of seven family loved ones, had a wonderful dining experience on their spacious patio.The food was great, including the baked chicken, fish with perfect clams on the side, with no parts broken off of the shells, and tiramisu! I recently visited this stunning restaurant. The first thing I noticed was the unique decor. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported into a world of elegance and charm. The attention to detail is impeccable--every corner is thoughtfully designed, with beautiful lighting, and unique artwork that perfectly complement the space. I love the pillows lining the booths throughout the whole restaurant. The atmosphere is warm yet sophisticated, making it the ideal spot for any occasion. Whether you're here for a romantic dinner or an afternoon lunch, the ambiance alone makes it worth the visit. The food was equally delicious, but the decor truly stole the show. I enjoyed an alcohol free strawberry ginger drink (can't remember the name) - it was so yummy! I can't wait to return and continue enjoying this beautiful space.

We are no longer looking forward to their Beast Feast of boar in January due to the condescending attitude of the management. I had sent them a separate email about our experience at the previous Beast Feast Crustacean dinner [because I wanted to give them the opportunity to address problems we experienced at the dinner without posting a negative review] but their response [weeks later] was to defend everything they did as correct and nothing I detailed to be lacking as true. Their indifference was truly astounding. So, we will not be dining at this location ever again. They should acknowledge that "the customer is always right".

Loved the patio as dog friendly.Nice hanging plants and flowers decoration and enough space with other people.Food was good but spectacular for me.Tiramisu was the best so far.My salmon was ok but a bit too greasy for me.I would come back as group maybe not so romantic dinner.Taylor or tanner?
