Vegan berry danish

Went to check this new cafe that opened in the Courtyard between City Hall and the Port of Long Beach admin building. Long Beach Bread Lab operates from this Container Cafe. It was opening day. Whilst the drink menu is limited, it was even more limited as to its availability. Of the lattes, they only had brown sugar syrup, so none of the other flavors were available. Loved that they had oat or almond milk options. Definitely earned a star for that. EXPENSIVE. $$$ compared to the existing coffee options within walking distance. I got a latte and a pastry. $14 off the bat, without tip.$5 for the pastry. Granted it was vegan and absolutely delicious. Still, it's nearly $2 more than the danish sold at Starbucks... literally across the street. $8 large brown sugar latte with oat milk. Starbucks sells the same for $5.95. I went here with high expectations, especially with their pricing. Okay, so I paid a bit more, so I expected the coffee to be divine. However, they messed up on my order or coworker's and used whole milk. She's a vegan so I let her have the drink that had oatmilk. Which one of use got screwed? Who knows? Drinks are not identified by the name of the person who ordered or by any order number. I don't drink whole milk, so my latte was not of my liking. Many coffee options across the street from the LB Civic Center in all directions, so unless you cannot cross the street, this place will do. Aroma di Aroma and Cafe Cabinet are great alternatives across Ocean. There is Starbucks, Coffee Bean (inside the courthouse), and Panini on Broadway. The Long Beach Bread Lab operates out of the Container Cafe. The City should have checked out their reviews as part of when considering their bid for the Container Cafe since they have an existing location on the Long Beach Memorial Hospital campus.

The folks working the container "Long Beach Bread Lab" are very nice and courteous. I ordered a regular black drip coffee and a chocolate chip cookie, came out to $7.38It's very pricey, and I just cant' justify making this location a daily visit let alone weekly. The 2 stars is strictly for the price point. The coffee itself was fine, nothing exceptional to warrant the high price
