China Gate

Weakened by a psychic reading that had me reeling "five years down the wrong path" and leftover cornbread in almond milk and a chocolate pancake - playing the bongos in my midsection - I had given up on the pursuit of consuming mere French fries alone. Open China Gate - the busy spot with its fast, friendly and flavorful buffet, was a warm and welcome alternative. Sandwiched between Burger One & Northgate Market the busy hot serve shop made my percussive duo into a quintet with fried rice, chow mein and stir-fried vegetables (broccoli). With two vegetable egg rolls it was $11-something. So being a spiritualist Lyft driver as foretold, to the exclusion of my "bought the dreams of others" entrepreneurial endeavors - would have to take a backseat.

I've been coming to china gate since middle school (31 years old now) and it's my preferred Chinese fast food spot! Chowmien noodles are always tender and sweet. Beef and broccoli also tender and beef is so delicious. Orange chicken is the "BOMB"! Can't comment on the rest of the food picks because these are my usual picks besides the fried rice, of course. I have tried the teriyaki chicken and potato with chicken, it's really good. Customer service is always a pleasure. Always welcoming. And of course enough chairs and tables to sit with family and friends to enjoy your meal. Reasonable pricing as well. I always spend less compared to other places. Thank you china gate for everything you've done!

Great, authentic Chinese/Cantonese style food. The only criticism I have is that it does not hold up well for leftovers the next day, so finish the meal while it's fresh.

The cook needs to reassess his cooking. The food taste is ok, however the food is over cooked. The rice is dry and the chowmain is over cooked. It's just way too cooked and soft and it will not fill you up. I've eaten in many Chinese restaurants and the chowmain is never this over cooked. Hopefully the management speaks English and takes the criticisms to improve the store, because it has potential. I'm sorry but they need to improve the cooking or they will close down. Sorry, but I wouldn't come back.

My must go to whenever I'm back in my hometown! Hands down the best egg rolls bbq pork and beef&broccoli!! Every option is just utterly delicious from teriyaki chicken to the jalapeño chicken, chop suey, orange chicken you name it and it's good! Lol there's no place like China Gate!

One of the best local Chinese food places you could eat at. Have been eating here ever since I was a kid & still has the same great taste!!

I have been coming for years. As of lately, food quality has gone down. Last time I was there, might be the last. Lots of oil on the food. I have never eaten at the restaurant.

Food was disgusting, taste like it was burn and old, Service was bad the ladies in the front were both in bad mood, didn't even ask if I needed my receipt, I asked her for one and she completely ignored me, definitely not going back.

Food is delicious. Chow mein is really good. Jalapeño chicken is very good. Good service. Plenty of tables to eat in. Very similar to the chinagate maywood had back in the days.

This is the best place for you if you want Chinese food! Although it doesn't have a really good rating, but I still tried and it did not disappoint me! I have always been to Panda Express before coming here and let me tell you, everything is fresh! especially the orange chicken, and the portions are much larger than Panda Express for a cheaper price! The food's always fresh and hot as they keep cooking these dishes time to time to make sure it is fresh as you order! Just make sure if you want receipt you need to tell them because the machine they have does not automatically print the receipt out. Definitely recommend!
