Chicken Troopers

Was around the area and looking for lunch, found this place on yelp and thought "why not try this place out". If you're going to try to look for the name on top of the building you won't find it as it's posted underneath. The sign on top says Uncle Fung Borneo " but it's Chicken Troopers. Walked in and greeter by the staff up at the front. Super friendly guy who instructed us where the menu is at. After reviewing the menu we decided on The Kimchi and CT sandwich, added the roosters fries to the order too. -Kimchi chicken sandwich: i was thinking this would be spicy but it wasn't at all, good amount of kimchi and pickled jalapeño, the sandwich it self is HUGE. Super juicy and crispy, very flavorful too. The kimchi flavor you get is from the kimchi itself as the chicken tender they put in the burger itself has a sweeter taste. -CT chicken sandwich - Sweet tangy chicken sandwich, juciy and crispy. - Rooster fries - this is a fries that you would share, the portion is HUGE, would like the cheese to be melted but it wasn't which wasn't a deal breaker. Would still order again. Let alone this is a great place for chicken sandwich, reasonable price and portion are HUGE. We ended up taking the fries home. If you're into a fast service as getting your food out and fast then you should order before you come here as there's a wait. They make the food when the order is placed so you know it's FRESH. Definitely will return back.

Chicken Troopers took over the spot for Uncle Fung's Borneo Eatery (rip for the delicious soups). They focus on chicken, with a small menu, but the quality is high. Chicken is prepared fresh, and cooked right so every piece has been juicy. Portion sizes are large, with some sandwiches being hard to eat. Sauces are tasty and generously coated so it does get messy, have napkins in hand to eat.Our go-to item is the Kimchi Sandwich. It has a giant piece of chicken and is sometimes hard to bite. The Original sauce flavor is gochujang, with jalapeño pieces added to boost spiciness. Very saucy, very messy, very tasty. I have not identified the kimchi component though I do see some of it in there. The pretzel roll is an extra benefit, I like them and it holds the sandwich together well even though it gets saucy. For the 3-piece tenders we like the Yuzu sauce. The description reads as if there is some spice, though it comes across as a citrus with a hint of sweetness. The chicken is moist, and the flavor is unique and not overpowering.The Rooster Fries are one item that was not as great as the others. To me it is a bit salty from all the many flavors. I think the Parmesan cheese is unnecessary, it has high salt content but is less detectable than the other ingredients. The house sauce probably also brings some salt, but I thought it was applied reasonably and would want to keep it.

I am sad to see Uncle Fung go but here to replace it is another Korean Fried Chicken spot.Here's what I ordered for myself:**C.T. Chicken Sandwich: Delicious! The piece of chicken was huge and every toppings complimented each other very well. Very flavorful! One of the best KFC sandwiches I've had. (5/5)**Rooster Fries: This is a huge order of fries with a generous portion of chicken on top. Everything is great especially the jalapeños on top. (5/5)When we arrived to order for take-out, there was a party of two right ahead of us. There was one person working at the time and he quoted about 10 to 15 minutes. Everything is made fresh to order so be patient! Food was done within the estimated time frame. Holdaak is definitely closer to me and was one of my favorites but Chicken Troopers tops their food just barely. For the price, it's a really good deal. Flavor is amazing. Service is even more amazing. I will definitely be back to try more of their menu soon!

BP! Chicken Troopers has arrived! Their originallocation is in Norwalk and they are well known for their tender and juicy chicken! I finally got a chance to try their kimchi fried rice and CT (Chicken Trooper) fries and they both delivered great flavor and generous portions. The owner and cashier in the front are very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a whole chicken and a half order of chicken and was able to try three flavors (original, special, and soy garlic) on my first visit at the new location. Every flavor was very tasty and delicious but my personalfavorite was the spicy special sauce. I know there are a lot of options for Korean Fried Chicken in the area but this is one of my top two spots.

I was sad to see Uncle Fung go, but when I saw that Chicken Troopers was in its place, my sadness went away and I was 100% okay with it because I love this place! We typically go to the location in Norwalk, but now that this one is closer, I'm going to live here now :)) All jokes aside, the food is just as good here as it is in the original location. There's always that fear that the new location won't be as good as the original, but that definitely isn't the case; they've definitely kept their quality. The service and food are top notch, the cashier/cook is a sweetie. The place is clean, has plenty of seating, and I love the iconic disco ball.

Uncle Fung's is unfortunately gone but fortunately, Chicken Troopers is here. Great food overall. My favorites are the Fried Chicken with Special sauce, Honey/Angry Charbroiled Chicken, and C.T. Chicken Sandwich. The French Fries (regular and gravy) are great as well (haven't tried the others).A big plus, there is filtered, self-serve water. However, watch out, drinks are expensive, especially the bottled, unsweetened Peak Ice Tea at $4.99, and $2.75 for 12 oz. can of soda. I asked the owner about the drink prices and he said he is actively looking for a new supplier with lower costs.Ambience: nice clean, modern look. Aside from the drink prices, Chicken Troopers has great food and I eat there at least twice a week.If you're looking for excellent chicken, this is a highly recommended place.

Will definitely be back because the chicken always comes out good. Great staff too. It's my 4th visit so far.

I'm so happy to have found this amazing chicken spot! I can't believe how tender the chicken is. Every bite was truly impressive and filled with delight. It's absolutely the best!

The entire staff was super friendly and helpful. The chicken is juicy and delicious. Highly recommend!
