One of the best and recommended places for Northern Thai food. I can see why the lines are so long outside. Their meals are so fresh and crisp. The overall vibe of this place is heartwarming, they have so many different food options on their colorful menu and I can't wait to come back to try more. The only downside is that this place is so popular so their waitlist takes about an hour until you're seated. Parking: There's no established parking lot, only parking at the front of the store or side street parking. Portion is on the bigger side. So if you can eat, you can finish one dish. I wouldn't recommend ordering more than what you can handle. Crab curry: It's a soft shell crab in yellow curry. My favorite dish between the two was ordered because the crab has a light to medium batter coating and crunch. I don't know how they do it, but the crab still retained its crispiness after it was sitting in the bowl for 5 minutes. Khao Soi Noodle Soup (Medium Spice): Egg noodles in Khao Soi curry. Khao Soi curry is made up of coconut milk mixed with curry spices. It's a light broth even though it's made with coconut milk. If you're a spicy eater then their medium spice is like eating Shin ramen noodles, it just has a slight kick at the end. The soup was very full in flavor not salty, so I had to keep grabbing my water cup because the flavor was overwhelming me a lot. Thai Iced Green Tea: Tastes more like green tea than Thai tea. The drink is more milky than caffeinated. Beer Large (Singha): Light carbonated beer drink. It's an Asian beer so it's slightly less bitter earthy compared to American beer. I would recommend it if you want a refreshing carbonated drink to pair with something fried.

Love coming to Chiang Rai for authentic Northern Thai food! The menu is large so I get some dishes that I love every time but also try new menu items each visit. Some items I get almost every visit is the papaya salad, khao soi noodle soup, and midnight chicken. This visit, I added green curry, thai fried rice, and pad thai stir-fried noodle. For drinks, got the thai iced green tea which I enjoy more than the thai ice tea, however the thai ice green tea can be quite sweet so I started asking for more milk to make the drink less sweet.Highly recommend Chiang Rai for amazing thai food!

A fun and colorful Thai spot that's been on my list for a while, we finally came with our friend and had a very tasty meal!Dishes included their chicken satay, signature khao soi with ribeye, dry khao soi with chicken, pad see ew, som tum kai tod, and mango sticky rice.I loved the khao soi's vibrant curry though the noodles were a little thin and soft for my personal preference. The som tum's flavors seriously popped while the 'wok hay' in the pad see ew was just as memorable (turned out to be my favorite dish of the evening). Other aspects like the satay's portion and the slight dryness in the chicken wings have room for improvement. Finally, the mango sticky rice was actually a first for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the temperature contrast in addition to the mango's ripeness.Service was top notch and we especially appreciated how welcoming the staff was to our toddler son! We'd happily come back to explore more of the menu.

So glad we finally got to try this place. There's a line out the door for a reason. We lucked out and only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. The menu is extensive and it was hard to choose because everything sounded good. To start, we had the midnight chicken which also came with sticky rice. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. My husband got the khao soi noodle which was fantastic. I got the Wagyu boat noodle, which was good but a little too spicy to handle (I asked for medium). We also got the sweet roti for dessert which we both enjoyed.

Overall good experience & food. Although there was a 25 minute wait, the service was super quick once seated & attentive to your needs. Would come again but maybe order pick-up. Food: Khao Soi noodle soup (with rib eye) was delicious. Super flavorful broth and perfect textured noodles. The rib eye was a little chewy for my preference. The medium spice wasn't too bad for someone who doesn't do spice. Roti with Curry & fried chicken -- I could've done without this. It was good but not for $20. The chicken was very crispy but not much flavor. & the roti had an off flavor like fried oil stuck on it. The curry was fire tho! Ambiance + Logistics:Packed on a Wednesday night Cute Thai decor all over the restaurant that is very vibrant and beautiful. Although very crammed. Plenty of parking on Anaheim

Came for dinner on a Wednesday night. It was pretty busy, and we had to wait 20 minutes for a table for 2. The inside is nice with lots of colors and cultural artwork and there are many tables - but it is small. We ordered the Crispy Roti with Yellow Curry, Khao Soi Noodle, and Pork Pad Khra Pao - mild spice. All the food came out quickly, even though they were busy. Our waitress was helpful with the questions I had about the menu items and with us trying to decide what spice level would be good for our preferences. The dishes itself were full of flavor and good portions. Overall, a great visit to this establishment. A little far from my area but I would come again if I found myself around here.

We were seated quickly on a Wednesday night around 8pm, despite the place still being pretty busy. The roti with the yellow curry was delicious though a bit greasy (to be expected for anything fried and crispy). Khao soi was so flavorful and I love the two types of noodles in it, egg noodles and crispy fried noodles. The pineapple fried rice was good, didn't stand out too much. Cute interior and very friendly staff!

Our favorite Thai restaurant in Long Beach! The khao soi series is a particular favorite of ours. The roti and curry and midnight chicken is also fantastic. I will note that it's a bit pricey. However, the quality of their dishes does merit the price point. Lunch specials are available and certain dishes are offered at a discounted price. Also note that regardless of what time you are coming, they are quite popular and there is often a wait.

Had a very delicious lunch here. Sweet little spot, great selection of dishes, and a warm atmosphere. We tried the combo appplatter, chicken sauté, crying tiger, seafood soup, pad see yew with shrimp, pork belly, and Thai iced tea. Not a bad thing on the menu! Staff were very friendly.

added as our go to spot for authentic thai food in LB areaYou can't go wrong with any of the items on the menu. We've tried their midnight chicken, roti with curry, pad thai, kha soy, Tom kha, crab fried rice, green Thai tea and regular Thai tea.Every single dish was delicious, but the top winners were:- Roti with curry: so much flavor for such a simple appetizer! The roti is freshly made and the curry was rich yet flavorful. Get this with the midnight chicken! You won't regret it- Midnight chicken: crispy, flavorful, and juicy! I absolutely love this with the curry sauce that comes with the roti- kha soy: sooooo much flavor and sooooo delicious. It's not heavy at all, and I'm not usually a big fan of kha soy. If you do ask for spicy, just know, it's actually SPICY. No American spice level here so beware!- Thai tea: perfectly made. Most places make it either too sweet or too creamy, but they made it perfectly balanced here. They have lunch specials that come with an egg roll, rice and Thai tea. I believe this is on weekdays only. Their service is top notch- everyone is super sweet and friendly. I feel super welcomed when I come here! Their food is a bit pricey but I promise, it's worth it!! Highly recommend!
