Chema's Place

We ordered chicken quesadilla, chicken tamale and chorizo breakfast burrito. The chicken quesadilla is so good! The chicken tamale is the best tamale I've had in Long Beach, BUT I've only tried a few places. It's not overwhelming spicy, but it was a little dry. Still so very good and has a good flavor. My husband enjoyed his burrito, but wouldn't call it the best he's had. Total was about $30. The quesadilla was about $12, which I think seems like a lot but it was good, I would pay that again. It's a walk up and order, small corner place that shares limited parking with a mechanic business. They have a good variety of Mexican food entrees. The service was friendly.

Great tamales, very reasonable, can get crowded but worth it. Also offers menudo and you can bring your own container. Outdoor only.

Old school place. Bring a pot and they will fill it up to take home for the family. One of the best menudo spots in the area.

I am not sure why this place has such great reviews. I ate here one time and that one time was plenty. I got the tamale and it was soooo dry and it was all masa. Perhaps the other things on the menu are better but I can only speak for the tamale.The tamale was also very small in size and there was little to no chicken.There are so many other places to get a decent tamale but here at Chema's Place.

Refered by a coworker to this restaurant for lunch. I've lived in Long Beach forever and never stopped in to eat at Chema's Place. Not fancy on the outside but the food and service was amazing! I ordered a chicken burrito with no hot sauce and a Jamaica to drink. My order was made quickly and perfectly. The meat was seasoned well and the burrito was tasty. The Jamaica was flavorful. My total order was $14. I will definitely go back.

The food is always good and fresh tasting. I enjoy the burritos and the Menudo mostly which is usually what keeps bringing me back

I got the red chilaquiles $11. cents . They were good nothing special, kinda spicy. They missed to add sour cream and onion, kinda disappointed cus that gives the chilaquiles more flavor. Rice and beans were good. Carne asada not included that was an additional $4.
