Caló Kitchen + Tequila - El Segundo

I'm a long time fan of Calo, but wanted to share my feedback on 2/15/25. My family and I knew it would be a busy night because of Valentine's Day weekend, luckily we were able to get a last minute 9pm reservation. I was very impressed that as we were checking in we noticed one of their chefs interacting with the guests waiting for their table, explaining the menu and taking orders for their drinks. Loved seeing the hospitality.Once we were seated we continued to see him checking in with staff and guests all throughout the restaurant. Loved seeing everyone work together and be so kind on such a busy night. Thank you! Will continue to be a fan of Calo!

Amazing! Amazing! Walk up on a Valentine's evening during rush hour and we were seated within 20 minutes. Our server was who made such a great impression, Samuel (Sammy). He made our first experience there so great. We went with all his recommendations and it did not disappoint!!! The food tasted like we were on an island. So flavorable and tasty!!! We started our experience off with margaritas...I highly recommend the blackberry margarita. Then had their shrimp taquitos..which blew our taste buds away!!! A must have!! I had the steak fajitas and hubby had seafood trio. We could not stop raving about how amazing each bite tasted. For our first experience, we had a good time. We can't wait to start planning our date nights there. By the way the customer service is PERFECT!! We were so impressed with our service there. Thank you for a great time.

The restaurant is nicely located. Very nice inside . Plenty of parking available. A private room upstairs. The bathrooms are always clean and super nice inside.They offer parking at no cost.The bar area has plenty of seating, but you must come early. The staff are awesome, very accommodating.The bar tenders are the best , Gonzo makes the best margaritas. They always remember you and your preferences.The chefs and cooking staff are also nice and will accommodate you as mush as they can. Food is always fresh and delicious. The prices are affordable. My favorite are the beans and chips with the guacamole. They always prepared it special order since I don't eat garlic. The staff are super nice and always happy .

Ufff... the bean dip is a must! I actually just come here for the bean dip and the drinks! Can't never go wrong with a margarita. An appetizer like the ceviche and fresh guacamole! If you come here on the weekend for dinner, expect a 1 hour wait line.

My second time eating here. The first time I had the shrimp and crab enchilada for take out. Very tasty. The second time I came with a friend. The reservations for the night was full, but they have a waitlist that you can sign up in person or via Yelp. I used Yelp and by the time we got to the restaurant we were 1st on the list (about 30 min). The restaurant is very nice for families or a date. It has indoor and outdoor seating. Service was fantastic and very attentive. We had the guacamole, salsa, and black bean with chips for an appetizer. All were great. For the main course, I had the Tampiquena de Carne Asada which was also delicious. Overall this was an outstanding dining experience.

I was on the waiting list yesterday? I don't mind being in a waiting list, if Calio' abides by their own rules of their waiting list. It's says must be within 5 miles away to be on their list. I got on the list at 530 pm. Not worried until we get near my waiting list time. It removes my name and we had no reservations? I tried to call them? Well, no answer. I really disappointed in their poor customer service. You should take down your Yelp waiting list. Warning to all folks wanting to eat here. You might get bumped from the waiting list. This doesn't happen with other restaurants. They honor their waiting lists. I rate them a 3.

This place has great margaritas, I had the smoked pineapple and Chile margarita that was great. The alcohol was masked and it wasn't too sweet.I ordered the halibut tacos. They were tender and grilled well. No fishy taste and the sauce and red onions went well with the taco. I didn't care for the beans or rice as it was just ok. The staff was very attentive and helpful in deciding what to order. The vibe was cool, moderate music and upbeat.

The food was amazing and to top it off, our server SAMUEL was amazing! We couldn't of asked for a better experience. I would highly recommend this eating establishment!

Excellent food and service, chimichanga was delicious and the night was made delightful by our server Samuel. Look forward to coming here again.
