Vanessa F. "Had a little bit of trouble finding it so make sure you go to the water side of the restaurants and shops. It is a small place. Had to give props to Ryan, who was so awesome when we visited. We originally came to take advantage of the Wed cruise offered when a meal is purchased during the summer. Unfortunately, we did not know we had to call and reserve in advance for this. Ryan was very nice in apologizing it was all sold out, but we wound up buying food anyway since the kids were hungry. He did approach us bc he had a cancelation, but our party was too big. We still appreciated the gesture. Thanks Ryan for the friendly service!"

Alex L. "Wow. If you find this pop up stand anywhere - immediately get yourself a quesadilla. These are not your typical quesadillas. They are packed full of flavor and are humongous and was served with some homemade salsa as well as a fried onion. So darn good.I also added mac and cheese for $4.99 and the way they grilled the mac and cheese right on the grill where you got that crusty cheese cover with the gooey mac and cheese inside was incredible. 5-stars all around. Friendly, but to be prepared to wait a bit if there are a lot of orders ahead of you; there was only one owner working when I went, but it made for an INCREDIBLE beach snack on labor day!Hope to find this stand again; they were popped up on the Cherry/Ocean Long Beach Alamitos Beach on a weekend."

Peter C. "Angel's is the go to taco stand, and I've been blessed to live by one for the past 3 years from the Eagle Rock location to Long Beach. I love trying new places, and I've tried all the nearby taco stands. No one else comes close! Everything is made fresh and by hand. The salsas, guac, pickled onions and grilled onions are always super flavorful and packs a punch. My wife and I usually go with the Al pastor potatoes and they are hefty! It always takes us two sittings to finish them. Go with what you like and try the potato if you haven't! It's a game changer."

Stephanie S. "I went a few weeks ago and was shocked when my total was only $6 for 6 tacos, until I realized it was Tuesday and obviously got more! The tortillas here are handmade along with all their salsas, and the meat is juicy and flavorful with just that right amount of grease making it such a great taco. They're located on the corner of Lomita Blvd. and Normandie Ave. in Harbor City, which is perfect for Southbay Los Angeles folks. Not sure if they'll be there today since it's Christmas Eve, but definitely make sure to save this place for your next Taco Tuesday spot! It's hard to find places that are truly $1, which is why this place was packed. We probably waited around 20ish minutes to get our food but it was worth it. High recommend stopping by!"

Lou H. "This little gem is located by the main bus stop in the heart of Long Beach. Offering a hot dog lunch to include chips and a drink for only $4, The Dog has the best lunch deal in the area. One might wonder, "well what's so special about a hotdog" or even think that is they've had one hotdog they've had them all, but I assure you that this will be the best hot dog you've ever had. First boiled, then split and barbecued, the hot dogs are full of flavor and offer a smokey taste in each bite. I highly recommend giving them a try, even if you're not usually into hotdogs, you won't be disappointed, especially for the price. That's this critic's review, until next time I'll be eating."

Adanma N. "Okay...so hear me out. I was VERY VERY apprehensive to hire this company after reading these reviews. VERY apprehensive. And I knew I was taking a HUGE risk hiring them. But I saw the price and I thought to myself "Well...I can always order pizzas if it doesn't work out".It's literally so cheap. The initial conversation also made me uncomfortable as it was hard to set up the contract and get everything set up for the first day. I was even able to pay on PayPal which I was going to refute the funds if they never showed (if that was the case)But after that? Everything ran smoothly. The day of my event came and I was very nervous. But lo and behold, they called me and set up was a BREEZE! I didn't have to do anything. He even ran to the store to buy me disposable pans for all the leftovers. The food was DELICIOUS and my guests enjoyed. I think with all the bad reviews maybe they were in a rough patch but now it seems like they got it together. I would definitely work with them again. Thanks Tony and Frank!"

I was reminded when I typed "hot dog" in the search function for Long Beach. They were a staple for me and others in the office way back in the day. Turkey was my dog of choice with ketchup and mustard. I wasn't such a fan of mustard growing up but it's interesting how palettes change as one matures.I truly miss this basic, no nonsense hot dog cart."

Anna S. "Hmm... had to drop it down a star because I bought a half chicken with the last of my money and it was definitely on the dry side. Service was great as always, but for 6 bucks, I was not as happy with my purchase since the chicken was incredible the first time. I think it was left on the spit for too long. I will give them another chance, but if it is dry next time, the star rating will drop to 3. Consistency is big in my book, but I will give them a chance for now."

Dev R. "I wanted to interact with my guests, and thus have a hands-free dinner. Bingo for that! They took care of entree, sides, drink, and eatingware.I wanted good chow, at an economical price. After pricing several Yelped caterers, I settled on Carlos and Crew due to his prompt responsiveness. Glad I did. I'm always wary of never having interacted with a caterer though. Can they cook? Do they use quality foods? Are they sanitary? Etc. Well, check, check, and check. I barely got to down a quesadilla before my guests started to arrive, so I didn't really taste the food until the day after (The crew left plenty of food to nibble on!). Yum to everything!I got: carne asada, chicken, fish, and veggies. Yes! Great choices! I might opt for al pastor versus asada, but the chicken, fish, and veggies were on point! I also had quesadillas, but later found from my guests that this option was not offered them upon ordering. As a matter of fact, they thought there was no cheese, so I put my own out. One star off! I opted for strawberry agua fresca. Seemed no one liked it but me; good thing I'm the birthday girl! The rice is delicious. Apparently, you have to specify refried beans? No one ate the whole brown beans. The crew was timely, efficient, and friendly. They verified address, scoped the spot, set up, and went to work. I thought it'd be Carlos, and wasn't notified it'd be crew, but it worked out. They were friendly, one speaking Spanish, and the other bilingual. The set up was great; they got permissions as warranted. I wish they had a menu, or had offered the fish/veggie/quesadilla options, as I have many friends fitting into those categories. It's only while mingling that I found they didn't know these options were available.I like payment via secured site versus a cash settlement. Carlos and I had difficulties with setting up initial payment, but it all worked out."

Smitcha B. "Email: [email protected] now, Roy Taquizas is strictly catering only. They DO NOT have a store front or a "truck." Our company recently contacted them to cater to one of our events. They showed up promptly and started cooking right away. You do not have to do anything except have space for them to set up their equipment. With your catering items of choice, they will provide you with Mexican rice, beans, macaroni salad, 1 big jar of aqua fresca, variety of salsas and condiment bar, plates, cups, napkins, and utensils. Truly, you do not have to do anything except pay the man. We chose the option to have the beef (carne asada), chicken (pollo), al pastor (marinated pork), and chorizo as our meat selections for our tacos. The tortillas are small and made out of corn. Your guests just line up and can order whatever they want. Everything was cooked right in front of us and the line although long at times went by swiftly. You just add all the toppings and condiments on your own. Our plates were tipping over by the time we were done scooping all the goodies onto or next to our tacos (wherever there was space left on our plates). In addition to the tacos mentioned, they also can serve up bacon wrapped hot dogs, quesadillas, pupusas, birrias (Mexican meat stew), and veggie burgers for you non-carnivores. I also believe they have meat options for your tacos upon request, but you should probably contact Roy and find out.As for pricings, it's really not too bad. From their menu: 50 people for the four taco meat selections: $350, don't forget it includes all the stuff that comes standard with it. For 75 people: $390. There are more options to meddle with but you need to contact them to find out exactly what you need and how much you're willing to spend. As for the quality of the food, it was fresh and got our taste buds kicking. Personally, I enjoyed the chicken tacos the most. The Mexican drink they provided was a nice touch and almost like a dessert drink. Everything was quite satisfying overall. So if you're looking to cater your next taco party, consider Roy's Taquizas to do the work for you. I think they're based out of the Long Beach area but they seem like they are willing to drive out for the job."
