"I personally did not eat any of this I am leaving the review for my husband (he is older) and already in the middle of eating called the restaurant to tell them it was the best meal he had eaten - I just laughed and told him to leave a review he said I did I called them. He had the pork chop dinner with corn, Mac and cheese & cabbage."
"Not one thing is bad here, people, vibes or food. I can't even show you my plate because unfortunately it didn't make it home. I got the red snapper dinner that comes with 3 sides, in which I chose collard greens, yams, and mac n cheese (my favorite in that order) and 2 cornbread muffins. Fish is crispy and made fresh to order, collards greens are sweet n tangy, yams are sweet with cinnamon and nutmeg on point, and mac n cheese is cheesy. And thank you lord the cornbread isn't dry! Behind the counter were 2 of the sweetest ladies! Tip them when you go because that food is made with love! Scheming now to figure out when I'm coming back!"
Favorite. Served with your choice of 3 Venni mac's side dishes and cornbread muffins.

"I've been ordering food from this place since I was a kid, they've moved locations a couple times but it's always delicious. Recently, I ordered from them on uber eats and there was a mistake with my order, the woman on the phone was so kind, and she fixed the issue and sent the order our way. Appreciate the staff."
"Delicious homemade food in an efficient takeout storefront. Had the greens, red beans and rice as side. Super yummy. Such a nice owner, too."
"We were just heading home from DTLA and decided to yelp restaurants. @this place on Tuesdays, they have a $5 meal 2 leg and 2 sides - I ordered that to try it out and boy it was good for a simple meal. Hubby ordered the pork chop dinner plate and it definitely satisfied his hunger . Enjoy their colorful Koolaid lemonade to make the experience even better. Service is simply 5 stars for us. SHANAE so sweet to serve us. This is the only place I have been where customers were chatty and happy and excited to pick up their orders . We have 3 boys at home waiting for their chicken cause we ordered for them to go !"
"Went in with my family on 7/26/24 and let me tell you the food is so Damn good! So good you'll wanna smack your Mama, your Daddy and your baldheaded, Granny. Order chicken ,Mac n cheese, French fries , Ox tail, fried catfish n shrimp, rice chili beans, green beans and corn bread. I'll tell you what Bobby Hill if you don't bring your ass here at least once in your life , you'll die with never Experiencing the true joy of life . We went up to the counter and was greeted by a friendly cashier sweetheart truly. Above and beyond service. You'll have to be a lil patient because food is freshly made and worth the wait. Can't wait till I return... I dream about the food since I ate it . Only thing is no AC other then that place was very clean. P.s if your a cheap ass and don't want to pay for Quality food keep your ass at home Teeee Heee ;)"

Good soul food with great service. If you're used to your plain salt and pepper pork chop, then get ready to get your mind blown. R Kitchen's pork chop is seasoned with love and fried to perfection, it's truly a festival in your mouth. At $14, the portion is rather small, but it's cooked perfectly that you can work it out with plastic spoon. The potato also amazing. Truly a soul food experience. They come only with a cup of hot sauce, making you kinda want some gravy or sauce, but it packs enough flavor that it kinda can getaway without gravy.

Best soul food in southbay area. I love their oxtails and braised short ribs. all their sides are so tasty. My kids fight over the mac and cheese. Portions are large and usually two or 3 entrees will feed my family of 5. 3 growing boys can eat but the portions are really big. Wish there was one in my hood but carson isn't that far away when the craving hits.

I've lived in Los Angeles off and on for the past 10 years. I love soul food but haven't found a place that I LOVED until now!!! WOW! I ordered the wings, macaroni and cheese, potato salad and the greens.... It was perfectly seasoned and so fresh. I couldn't stop eating! 10/10 is my score and I'm super picky as you can see in my history of reviews. Great job to the owner and the team at D's!!! I will be back and will order more this time.... I had the rest for breakfast

Was worried based off all of the bad reviews... I got the catfish breakfast (eggs with cheese and onions smothered potatoes) my bf got the red velvet waffle chicken special. We're both pleased. Catfish is fried perfectly & he said the waffles are wild. Called and placed the order via phone, ready in 20 minutes. Would order again.

The smothered pork chop was probably my favorite in terms of flavor, but everything else was delicious as well. The pork chop and fried chicken are savory, the collard greens are salty, macaroni cheesey, the rice with gravy has a mild spicy heat and the cornbread is sweet - so the combination of it all works well together because of the variety of flavors. The staff working there were also friendly and nice. The main reason the review got 4 stars instead of 5 is because it is a little pricey for the portion of food, the parking lot is also small and there wasn't air conditioning. They did, however, have a large fan blowing and provided us a pitcher of ice water... which helped out alot. There is plenty of seating in the restaurant, but I would imagine people probably take food to-go partially due to those reasons. If you are extra hungry, I might recommend maybe going for the hungry man portions. Our mini dinners, however, were sufficiently filling without any leftovers.

So nice, had to do it twice! I grabbed food from here last week and today and both times, everything was so yummy! This time I got the smothered chicken breast which wasn't dry and the gravy was 10/10! The mac n cheese was perfectThe mashed potatoes with gravy was AMAZING! I am in love with their gravy. I also got their banana pudding to try and it was a delicious dessert treat! I will say, parking can be a nightmare. The parking lot is tiny and there's cars everywhere blocking other cars. I suggest driving behind where you can do street parking without breaking a sweat.

"So I randomly found this bbq place on yelp after calling the place I usually go to & freakin out because they were sold for the day. Grrr!! So anyway, very impressed by Wrigley's! The bbq sauce. Bomb! I got the rip tips which could have been a lil more tender but they were good nonetheless. The fried cabbage. Bomb!! The bbq baked beans were good too. I hope this is not a hit or miss place because I most definitely will be back to try their mac n cheese, yams & greens! It's easy to find..sits on a corner and there's street parking. I didn't even notice if you could sit down to eat but its pretty small. The young lady that answered the phone and was at the cashier was very nice but would benefit from some additional training, specifically in customer service & phone etiquette."
"Dear Delicious Southern Cuisine restaurant, I have personally witnessed so many people who love what you do! From bringing out the big platters of budget-priced takeout and offering reduced prices for catering services during the pandemic, to your Juneteenth service for the whole community, it will be my mission to bring my friends and family here till you own the five star average you so sincerely deserve! (ALWAYS PUT THE MISSION FIRST!)Delicious Southern Cuisine is a family-owned restaurant with great service featuring delicious Southern, Cajun, Creole and Soul Food at affordable prices. If you rated this place less than three stars, I urge ya to give her another try! This restaurant offers catering, delivery, takeout and dine-in options.Located steps away from the metro with free parking in the rear. Plentiful ready-made meals, snacks and drinks available for easy purchase make this place a great option for takeout on-the-job or on the way home.Everything I've tried here is good. The barbequed ribs are melt-off the bone tender. The smothered chicken is a crowd favorite and very tasty. The seafood gumbo, my favorite dish here, is made to order and worth the wait! The small sized portion of seafood gumbo is big. It's a decadent stew with okra, onions, carrots, and a savory caramel rouix and a really generous portion of fresh crab, shrimp, fish and other shellfish. My family and I compared it to famous restaurants in Louisiana as we enjoyed eating it.I found this restaurant thanks to posted pictures online from grateful customers who ordered big platters of takeout food during the pandemic. Delicious Southern Cuisine restaurant offers catering services for large events and big trays of Soul Food for budget prices.Gumbo has a long beautiful history. It is America's national soup! The name Gumbo originates from the west African word "ngumbo" which means "Okra". Okra was brought to the United States by enslaved west Africans who carried the seeds in their pockets.Native Americans introduced sassafras and file to Gumbo. Spanish and French chefs added rouix, "the holy trinity" and peppers in their versions. Louisiana-style gumbo is known for combining the contributions of many cultures.Southern Louisiana style gumbo originally featured a rich combination of seafood and shellfish with plenty of okra, -similar to the gumbo here.Check out the featured prayer, awards, plaques and beautiful family photos on the wall behind the register as you pay for your takeout. Read the signs about supporting black-owned businesses as you enjoy your dine-in meal on the patio.Yesterday, on JUNETEENTH, 2023, I picked up takeout food for my beloved family member's birthday dinner. It was a great day to see this restaurant serving customers and the community.During the parade and JUNETEENTH celebration I watched hands giving fist bumps, reaching out to pull up people from the sidewalk and pushing elderly people in wheelchairs to this restaurant.Live music and DJs performed as thousands of people danced through the street.A weathered American flag waves in the wind perfectly centered across from this restaurant for everyone to view on the cute patio tables in front.I overheard lots of compliments about the food while I waited in line to order from many happy restaurant guests.A famous gumbo chef and great Lady, Leah Chase said every problem can be solved by sharing a bowl of gumbo. Leah's seafood gumbo recipe looks a lot like this restaurant's version.African American contributions are the star of America's national soup. I tried to recreate this dish at home with love in tribute and it came out pretty good!My favorite bowl of gumbo in Los Angeles and the world. I feel very fortunate to have found this restaurant and to share it with my friends, family and honored to recommend it to you."
"Delicious down home type souls good and fried fish. The food was ready quickly, served hot and fresh. I found them on Yelp and they did not disappoint. I will definitely be back."
"Finally stopped by to grab a few burritos. Cliff did not disappoint us! They're huge, filled with good ingredients and Cliff actually came out to greet us. My 20 year old daughter was blown away by that- as was I! I'm not sure why there are negative reviews when they'll gladly hear your complaints and make your order again. They're really nice people. We will be back and highly recommend you check them out too. The burritos are enormous too btw and I had a regular."
"over the weekend I had the pleasure of visiting gotta have it grill and when I say not only was the food amazing the customer service was great. I am a chef myself and this food was perfectly prepared not overly seasoned or salty but seasoned to perfection with flavors through and through. I had the fried salmon and honey hot wings mac&cheese and greens we also had the fried shrimp and lemon hot wings. I can't wait to come back and try the spaghetti and catfish We drove all the way from Palm Springs to try this place out and it gets 10/10 from this Chef fyi: dine in and relax or call ahead ...because this is not fast food great food takes time thanks"
"This restaurant needs to close it's door's. I have never had a restaurant identify as SOUL FOOD, but serve you horrible food out of a can. If you've never been, I suggest you don't waste your time. I ordered a catfish meal and paid for a few extra sides and it was a complete waste of my money. The potato salad tasted horrible, like a 3 year old made it. The yams were undercooked and looked like it was right out of a can. My fish was not fried crispy like a requested, instead it was falling apart and soft. I was beyond annoyed. I called back and explained that my food was not cooked properly and the preparation was horrible, and I was told I should have checked my order and looked at the fish before I left. Then said thank you and slammed the phone down. Never offered to refund me my money or even a portion of it. Or at the very least could have offered to discount my next visit (although I'm never going back there again) as a kind gesture. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. You'll be highly disappointed."
"If a leaf eater (folivore) is a euphemism for Southern Italian people that's good company. And Bf does qualify, however I am the winner in the vegetable loving contest. So let me tell you, the collard greens here were stupendous. I wish the smallish $3.50 serving was more generous but I believe the craving for their rendition of collards will bring me back to McDowell's. Reading previous review sounds like one takes one's chances for getting the good chef/bad chef. There was praise for the peach cobbler but the soggy, underbaked and flavorless dessert was not worth $8.50. They're not selling hospitality here, might be nice if they did. I'm giving three stars because of that cobbler but I suspect other items might be worth returning to try also."
"Saw the Yelp reviews and the very affordable price. The gentleman on the counter saw me looking at the menu, and told me that he doesn't feel like cooking. I understood where he was coming from. I didn't feel like cooking either, that's why I went here to get something to eat. I appreciate his honesty. I will come back and try his food. I'll probably call ahead to see if he feels like cooking."
