"I tried returning some stuff at this location and the cashier was not authorized to do so, and told me to talk to the manager. I said fine, alright I found her by the meat section and told her I had to return a lot of these dessert mix boxes that were bought by my mother with cash. On the way to her little office (?) or something, she kept lecturing me not to do that again, saying it was bad business or whatever. Like what the heck? I was just trying to return, I have no clue why my mom wanted it returned, I just wanted to get in and out, not get a freaking lecture! They were so rude and inhospitable I literally held my tongue and just agreed with what she kept saying. I kept saying I seriously don't know why my mom wanted to return everything she bought but the manager was so freaking crabby about it. Never coming back to this place ever again. And if you ever plan to return things you bought from here, I hope you never ever experience the rudeness that me and my friend experienced. Worst service hands down, and if there were negative stars on yelp, I'd give 'em ten. Also -- check if the items are fresh before buying as well as if the expiration dates of the products are present."
"Every fish I've had here and every sauce has been amazing! I used to pop in once or twice a week, but just haven't been craving fish as much. First place I've ever had swordfish and theirs is always great. The kabobs are amazing when they have them available. It's a little loud sitting outside, but at least they have a good sized patio! The staff is also super nice here."
"I will start by saying this. I have been going to family fish market for YEARS..as far as I can remember. At least for 25+ years. I would always go with my grandmother and she would order the same thing I order now Fried Catfish tail dinner fried hard with 2 sides. Actually, I prefer to come to this market instead of going to Anne's fish marked down the street because FFM almost always have catfish tail in stock and when Anne's would have it, they would say "oh we can't sell you the tail because we have a customer that likes to buy the catfish whole" (crazy. I know)Anywho, Family Fish Market used to be so flavorful and delicious however after my purchases in the last few months and most importantly, this week, I don't think I will be purchasing from there any longer. I ordered by phone a Fried Catfish tail dinner that came with 5 pieces (that's a lot and I love that part) and I asked for it to be cooked hard which means fried a bit longer, maybe 5 minutes longer. Then I was told it would take about 20 minutes. Well I arrive to pick up my order 35 minutes later and it's not ready. Ok, no worries because good food takes time right? Cool so I wait...and wait...and wait and I don't end up leaving the store until at least 45 minutes after I placed my order...ridiculous. With my catfish, my sides were French fries and macaroni salad. I promise you everything was bland as if salt never touched any of my food. Not the fish fry, not the French fries and not the macaroni salad. Nothing had seasoning which is disappointing because the fish was fried to perfection! But who is eating fried fish with NO seasoning in or on it?? Certainly not me!Family Fish Market has dropped the ball with the quality of their product as of late and it sucks because going here brings back so many memories from when I was a child. Do better."
"One of the cleanest markets around town! They a good selection of fresh produce and their shelves are always organized. From the entrance, seafood is on the very left and meats are on the very right. Depending on the crowd, it can get a bit tight. At the time of my visit, their prices for corn-beef were lower than the competitor just around the corner. The butcher was helpful when I was looking for salmon. Only con is the aisles get tight when it's busy but that normal!"
"We came across this place by accident as we took the wrong turn! Sometimes you come across places you never seen or heard of. So we went inside and asked if they had calamari. Yup they did and since we found what we wanted we said what the heck let's eat some lobster. Best call of the day! My wife had the carne asada quesadilla.. the lobster plate was delicious. They carry blue fin if you order the day before just an fyi!"
"Really good food. I tried crab, fish, ceviche and they were all good. Definitely recommend giving this place a try. Make sure to get some hand sanitizer or wash your hands after eating because they get sticky. The view is great because you can see the boats and people walking by."
"Megan at the Dry Dock Fish stall is a staple of the Larchmont Farmers Market. Every Sunday morning we make Megan our first stop. From FRESH ahi, albacore, salmon, halibut to fresh shrimp, clams, mussels, oysters to whole branzino, and rockfish - it changes but it's always top notch. And just ask Megan which fish is sushi grade, or how best to cook, and she'll answer with knowledge and a smile."
"Buy it, clean it, split it, prep it, then chug it! If your feeling brave you can also bite it! This is a seafood market and my 1 reason I come here is for Oysters. Full boxes, 1/2 boxes, or get them by the dozen. Host that party and get a dozen or more. Prices are reasonable and the sizes very. Customer service is good, they have workers that know what they're selling. You have some questions go head and ask you'll get your answer. As you walk inside you will feel odd cause a lot of the product is not in a display case. You mainly just ask for what you want. It's a mom & pop joint. They were a hit!! Good flavor these oysters. Not hard to open at all (small hint use flathead screwdriver.) My guest were eyes wide open when I flipped open the ice chest. Looking to add a twist to your menu at your next party. This will do the trick. Maybe you'll swing on by get some and enjoy. I know I did and I know I'll be back."
"Still open for business. Called just now and they are in business. People should call the place before making such inaccurate information about a business is closed for good.Great friendly staff. Lots to buy... they have uni and fish skin dumplings."
"I love fried fish ! This is def a lil gem in Compton as the front may look a lil run down to others . This is not a dine in establishment, this is a pick up your food & go location. I called my order in and when I got there it was ready. I went with the 2 fish/6 shrimp lunch combo .. I picked the red snapper .. YUMMY . The seasoning & fry was on point ! Didn't care much for the slices of bread they provide but there for the fish at the end of the day. If you like lemons make sure to ask for extra extra they only game me a lil slice :( LOL . The fellas in here were super nice ! Not sure if they have a parking lot but I just parked right in front & went right in . Most def will be back here when in the area ."
"TAKE PEPPER SPRAY WHEN ENTERING! Anyhoo, If you could get over the scummy dudes standing outside asking if you need fake social security cards, go right in! This market is really really really a hole in the wall. Everything looks wrong in this place. It needs new paint, new floors, smells bad, looks bad but I haven't got sick yet so I'll keep on going back! Here's why I love this place. You go in, pick out what fish you want, give it to the dude behind the counter, he weights it, gives you a receipt, you go pay, in the mean time the dude is frying up your fish. It come out SOOO good! They season it up with god knows what (and i don't care) and throw some onion-cilantro stuff on it! It turns out beautifully! I always get the baby octopus, fried and talapia. Is the fish fresh? Who know! Who cares. My taste buds know what they like, and they like this place!"
"Pretty good pickings for a market on the outskirts of DTLA. It's a Korean supermarket with a hot food section, fresh seafood section, sushi stall, Asian bakery, and little restaurant that serves a mix of Japanese and Korean fare. It's no HMart but definitely is up there as far as offerings go. I like how much organic products they have here. I like that I can buy Natto, Thayer's toner, tteokboki, and mochi products from Fugetsu-Do in one place. Personally not a fan of their marinated meats. They have good sales listed every week. I got a 4-pack of Korean canned tuna for 8 bucks so that was nice."

I have been coming here for around 10 yrs for there fried fish. Today I had a altrication with the supply guy and the fish cleaning guy. 4 fish at 2.29 a pound is around $9.20 . He told me that it was for 3 fish and $4.58 for 1 I told them I would not be taking there fish and they could keep it while doing some calculation The cashier said all 4 fish was 3 pounds . With frying add a pound 4 pounds at 2.29 adds to $9.16 . I was getting charged $14.00. I am not paying for old fish. Thank you NO Thank you. Went to SEA FOOD CITY got me some Fresh Tilapia . They also fry there fish. I am a new customer to them . Bye Bye.

We went to an event in San Pedro and couldnt find a restaurant to eat at by cruising around on our scooters so I googled and we ended up here! I was SO pleased with where we ended up!! I ordered the grilled sea bass with garlic butter sauce, white rice and black beans. All of that was $14.95!!! When my dish was received, I had a large piece of sea bass in front of me with perfect grill marks! Honestly, this was one of the best pieces of fish I've had in far too long. I always feel like nice restaurants over do it with fish (ie, crusted macadamia) and never let the fish do the talking!! Well, this piece of sea bass was simple and fresh! I live in North OC and would absolutely drive out to eat this again. My wife ordered the shrimp tacos and I didn't try them but she said they were delicious, they did look amazing but I had so much food on my own plate that I didn't want to waste any room in my belly. The white rice was buttery and we boxed up both the rice and black beans as we didn't want those to go to waste. We also ordered the chips and salsa. The chips were super fresh and I'm assuming homemade. The salsa was good...we had the red salsa and the pico de gallo. The red salsa was great and the pico was average but I wasn't there for Mexican food! I topped off my lunch with a fountain coke with crushed ice. It was the cherry on top of a perfect lunch! The food here was fresh, big portion, delicious, well prepared and let the fish do the talking. I wish I had taken pictures to share here but that was the last thing on my wind when the server dropped off my plate!! I wish there were more of these restaurants around! I love that the fish were all grilled and that you could pick your own sauce!

It's hard to find a place where you can buy fresh seafood in the city. I ALWAYS crave oysters and I'm just a big seafood lover, but I'm too cheap to buy them at restaurants unless I'm in a splurging mood. This was my third time coming to Goldfish to get 2 dozen oysters to take home. They were 0.95 cents each!! The people who work there are so nice, and they offered a styrofoam box and ice for the travel to keep my oysters and the other seafood I got fresh. And they definitely were fresh once I shucked them at home!I came here at around 10am on a Monday. There's a lot of activity in the streets surrounding the market since it's an industrial area. The market itself was spacious, organized, and fully stocked.

The first place you should go when you want to try fresh, and yes, live sea urchin or uni. I do not understand how other seafood lovers cannot give Quality Seafood anything less than four stars. They have perhaps the largest and best selection of fresh seafood on the entire West Coast. The fish can be prepared however you like: grilled, fried, steamed or sashimi-style to be enjoyed at home or for dine-in at no extra charge. The selection of fresh, quality seafood is amazing! They have some of my favorites, including Tuna Loin, Albacore, Swordfish, Wild Salmon, Opah, Ono, Alaskan Halibut, mahi mahi, Chilean Sea Bass, Scallops, Octopus, Squid, Oysters, Lobster Tails, and whole Dungeness Crab.Feasting on a live sea urchin is a unique and fun (albeit a little weird and somewhat creepy) experience. It will move its spines 30 minutes after one is cracked open for you. The taste and texture are as unique as the experience of eating one this fresh: sweet, salty, creamy, umami flavor. They host annual crab and lobster fests, and family gathering specials in the Fall. They gut, clean, and prep a whole fish at no extra charge. Located on the Redondo International Broadway, this retail seafood market is truly a gem.

"Great little fish market that's part of the Fisherman's Outlet restaurant. Stop in and pick up something for the grill at home. They have fresh fish, shrimp, lobster, etc. You can also order at the Fisherman's Outlet from this side too to speed things up.Love this place."
"Food is amazing customer service is amazing I love this place they fry your fish upon request"
"I went to Liv's with my partner for the first time yesterday. We're both lovers of seafood and particularly love raw oysters and other raw seafood dishes. I don't think either of was expecting the quality and sheer deliciousness of what we had here. Since we hadn't had any decent seafood in a while we splurged on the Beach Tower which included raw oysters, raw salmon, raw bay scallops in a salsa verde, lobster, jumbo shrimp, caviar, crème fraîche, crackers and assorted condiments.Honestly, there wasn't a single thing we didn't like. The shrimp were enormous and were served with a in-house made cocktail sauce...and they were absolutely superb. Ditto to the salmon and scallops and lobster. Each was accompanied by a sauce which served to bring out the flavor of the main ingredient. The oysters were very good and on the briney side (which I prefer). We made quick work of the 16 we were given. The oysters were so good that my partner ordered an oyster shooter (non-alcoholic). I'd actually, surprisingly, never had one before. It was a raw oyster with mignonette sauce, hot sauce and dash of pickle brine. It. Was. AWESOME. So many flavors married to each other. We subsequently ordered another 4 from our waitress. Speaking of our waitress, she was really charming and eager to answer our questions. We came in early, so were the first for the dinner seating. The place has relatively simple decor, but, honestly, I was so absorbed with eating that I didn't really notice the interior design that much.A+"
"This is such a cool place with a great, unique selection. They are unfailingly polite and helpful. I love to get their premade and cooked items especially. I love having a choice for when I don't want to cook!"
"When we need fresh tuna, we always get it here. Especially the blue fin. We've been coming here for years and have never gotten a bad fish. We also love their hamachi collar."
"I've purchased items multiple times and tho I like the products the customer service needs A LOT of improvement. I love buying my kimchi, pork belly and other stuff here. I'm reluctant to go because I always end up feeling off. I always say hi to the cashier ringing me up and they either don't say anything back to me or make it seem like they don't want to greet me. I don't know what that's about, I notice they treat other Asian customers different. Is it a language barrier? Are they having a bad day? I don't know. Last time I went the cashier was very friendly with the person infront of me and the person behind me (both customers were asian) and she treated me differently for sure."
"I used to live in LA and now live in Sacramento. My hubby and I came to LA on vacay and I knew this was one of the spots I wanted to take him to and it was just like I remembered. The fish was fresh, seasoned, and overall delicious. I had the red snapper and hubby had the catfish nuggets and hush puppies. The wait was about 25-30 minutes as they cook everything fresh and it was totally worth the wait. We let the trunk down in the jeep and soaked up the LA sun outside while we waited for our food. We drove from Etna's to Mid Wilshire and the food was still hot and fresh when we arrived to the hotel to eat. I would totally recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good fried fish."
"I drove down from Carson this Monday morning for a bag of mild pete links. Always good service etc."
"The ceviche at el golfo is always so refreshing. I love the convenience of being able to buy it pre-made and topping some oysters with it, which you can also purchase here! Paired with a miche, oof!!"
"Melania and Antonio are great. They have a good selection of fresh fish, cooked seafood items like fried tilapia with rice and fried octopus, and ceviche.I have been pleased with the food items I have gotten here and the service. The price is just right, and you get a lot of food for what you pay. You can even eat at the tables in the market. The fried fish may be a little salty at times, but, other than that, I'm a big fan of the fresh, well-priced selection."
"I came here after my dentist appointment because I saw that they had a taqueria... WOW I was so amazed that the food was low priced & very delicious I got two burritos for $5 each... the taqueria lady was super super nice and welcoming I will definitely be going back and I do recommend the food here"
"This place has got to be pretty epic. I drive from Riverside to Anaheim to get my hands on great food. Thank you."
"Love this place. We come here every year for Dungeness crabs when the season opens. Super friendly staff and reasonable prices."
"Very good fish and shrimp. I love how they fry the seafood here. The customer service is great. The seafood is always fresh here."
"Bomb tostadas de camaron de ceviche!! Good prices and yuuuumy food! Another favorite is the camaron a la plancha!!!!! Literally finger licking good they cater players of ceviche too for any event"
"Support our local fisherman and diversFresh fish, crab, shrimp, and uni ! Priced very reasonable and can't get any fresher Get there early, they sell out!"
"Julie is sweet, knowledgeable and helpful. Great products, prices and service! Don't shop anywhere else!"
"Was told wholesale only. I didn't see much inventory around. Stays in the fridge/freezer probably. 4 stars since I don't want to detract from the previous review."
"Picked up some salmon sushi for my bday. Per lbs it's more than Costco by double and 10-12 bucks less then Toyko Central's fancier salmon. Dry Dock salmon taste and looks better than both places. Service was great. There was only 2 lbs filets and I just wanted a lbs. he got me a 1 lbs and even asked if I wanted it skinned. Which I did because I'm no expert at skinning. I prepped my salmon with a little sugar and salt. Washed it off after 30 min. Wrapped it in a paper towel for later. The color and fatty white lines looked great. Sliced some pieces for nigiri. It was amazing. Loved it! This will be my go to spot for good salmon."
"I love love love this restaurant. I always come back every Christmas. Ambiance is excellent.Everything I ordered never disappoints.Fresh sea food at the counter.. white clam chowder is a must. We had King crab legs and wild salmon both excellent, cooked to perfection.Sour dough bread free yummy.Be back for New Year's Eve."
"This place was referred to me by my cousin's girlfriend. I'm so glad she did! I love this place. The older men are so helpful with their recommendations and the receptionist is very patient. (I had such a hard time deciding on what I wanted because I wanted to eat everything). You definitely have to buy in bulk here. I bought a whole box of oysters (100+) for $42 and 2 lobsters for $48. Make sure to go early to get the good stuff before it's gone because this warehouse services the local seafood restaurants. They ran out of clams by the time I got there. Oh yeah, BRING CASH! This place doesn't take cards."
"Owned by San Pedro Fish Market, this is just another great place to grab fresh seafood. Bonus, they had green mussels! Mmm.We didn't eat here, but did Walk through to gaze at all the amazing fresh seafood. The place appeared clean and well staffed. They have lots of outdoor seating. What a great find. Wish we lived closer!"
"Customer service was amazing. The fish options were excellent. Ask for Armando, he knows all the right answers."
