Fried Pork Dumplings were small but nicely constructed and very good in taste dipped in Plum Sauce, Sweet & Sour Sauce, and Hot Chili Oil.While others at my table split a Large Won Ton Soup and enjoyed extensive Mu Chu Chicken Wraps and House Special Chicken with Broccoli, Diane addressed her well-constructed and sweet Honey Walnut Shrimp, and I concentrated my attention on Shrimp in Lobster Sauce and Kung Pao Three Flavors (Beef, Chicken and Shrimp). Everything was tasty and washed down with Hot Tea. We had a veritable Chinese feast.Service was attentive and responsive, and our reserved table for six in front of the aquarium was quite comfortable. This was probably our best experience here!"

"Normally, I'd give a four star but there's a new policy that we objected to, so read on.My friends and I eat here often and have always enjoyed the experience, food, service, and staff. Tonight we were surprised to find an extra 2.75% fee attached to our bill for using a credit card. We found this laughable because the cost of the food didn't decrease by this same amount. Math people will get this. On the flip side, the poor servers are the ones that are being hit the hardest by this fee. Customers by default want to discount the servers' tips. People understand this is a corporate decision, please don't penalize your servers. This change hits them harder than corporate. Come with a debit card or cash and pay your server with cash. FYI: I learned tonight; that the waiters pay the tax, not just on the tips they keep, but also on the tips they share with the busboys and kitchen staff. Wow! Thank goodness that in 2025 the wait staff won't have to pay tax on their tips!"

Here's what we tried: * Chicken Karaage: Perfectly cooked with a crispy, flavorful batter. The hint of lemon zest in the batter was a great touch, so we didn't even need to add extra lemon. * Chashu Bao Buns: Delicious, fluffy bao buns with pork that was tender and flavorful. Everything in it was perfectly balanced. * Kurobuta Sausage Skewer: The sausage was juicy and flavorful. Can't go wrong with it. * Snake River Wagyu Beef Skewer: Cooked to perfection. The flavor was fantastic, and the beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender. * Seared Hamachi: Good, though we've had slightly better. The grilled asparagus was a nice addition, pairing well with the fish.For drinks, my husband tried a bartender's choice cocktail, which was deliciously refreshing. I went with the lychee spritz--light, refreshing, and not overly sweet.Overall, Oak and Coal was an awesome dining experience, and we can't wait to return and explore more of their full bar in the back (reservations only). They easily accommodated our group of 14. The food is good. For appetizers we got the firecracker shrimp, calamari, and spicy ahi tuna tacos. Those were all a hit, even with the kids. For mains our group got a bit of everything and everybody liked it. I can definitely recommend the New York steak and the lamb rack. The little sauces they come with were great. The steak side dishes are just ok though. The rice pilaf was a bit dry. Minor complaint but yo where was my maraschino cherry in my old fashioned? lolService was good. Friendly staff. Easy parking in the front lot."

The presentation was impressive with the oversized pastry billowing over the dish. I ordered the chicken picatta. It was okay but not anything special. The mixed vegetables were steamed, which I always find uninteresting and not flavorful. I would expect steamed vegetables at a lower class restaurant. On the flip side, if you're looking for a hip, vibing place to hang, then their bar looked like it would fill that need greatly. Parking is mostly Valet, which takes some patients too at their busy times."

Not available for takeout orders.I wanted lobster Yee mein but the tank was empty when I arrived.Got a few items that are uncommon for our family but completely delicious:Scrambled egg with shrimp - I love this simple combo and how the egg comes out soft scramble with very tender peeled shrimp.Seafood and tofu in clay pot has a bottom layer of clear noodles and vegetables (mostly Napa cabbage) - the tofu soaks up all the flavor and is equally delicious. Shrimp, squid and scallop in the mix.Our server suggested the milk tea with boba - I try to not consume too much of this type of drinks because they can be sugar bombs, their version is not overly sweet.We tend to order a lot of food because of dietary reasons. So I requested to be moved to a larger table. The staff was very accommodating, cleaning up the previously used table and moving us immediately. I am always impressed by how quickly delicious food comes out from what seems to be a smallish kitchen.Lunch specials are billed as served only till 250 pm, probably to avoid the 3 pm lunch stragglers. Check the front door for the hours, one weekday (Tuesday?) they are closed for an hour or two right after lunch service."

We were given samples of the sauces with our food and we felt that we knew exactly what we were going to order this second time around. Fast forward to our second visit and the food tasted so different than what we remembered. We ordered crawfish with shrimp in spicy garlic butter. My husband and I had to keep adding salt, pepper, and lemon to give it some flavor. We also waited 40 minutes for our food. The restaurant was about half full and only one waitress. When we left the restaurant, we saw more staff. The first time we visited this restaurant, I remember leaving and thinking "I can't wait to come back"... This second time around, I don't feel like I need to go back."

Upon entering the restaurant, you are greeted by the host and a wall full of wine. The host takes you to the back where the salty air and smell of wine permeates the room. For those of you who like to be surrounded by the wading boats and laughter in the room, this is the place where you can forget your arguments and be truly present. Come and order a drink for the occasion. I got Endless Summer and truly, it was the last drink before the season changes again. As an appetizer, I got the octopus, a small dish where you'll still have room for more food. As the main entrees, I got the fish of the day and of course, the lamb. If you ever had lamb anywhere else, well, those restaurants cannot compare to this one at The Dock. The lamb was cooked nicely and without the gamey taste, which is my preference. I would go back here again for the location, good, and ambiance."

Last time we came it was for their signature omlets....Breakfast left us with that "Denny's" taste in our mouth. And it cost waaay too much. Still healthy portions but I think we are over being overstuffed restaurants. Get back to real food quality, especially with the new Inflated prices.I've been eating at this location in HB for about seven months. Maybe it's the trend of prices and cut-backs but going for dinner isn't worth the high price now. $65+ no appetizers and two beers. For meatloaf tasting burgers? I'd rather eat at In-and-Out. Sorry Hangout, still love your ibe, service, appetizers and beer but meals are just too iffy to pay that much."

My favorite, very nice soy sauce based broth, overall noodle soup tasted clean and not heavy.Potak: (Hot & sour seafood soup) Thai spicy soup with seafood in a spicy broth of lemongrass (Shrimp, fish, calamari, and mussel). Delicious and a good option for seafood lovers, my wife uses their version as the bar for tiwhr places. Pad Thai: pan-fried noodles with egg, bean sprouts, cooked in sweet and tangy sauce garnished with crushed peanuts. Noodle were perfectly cooked and not falling apart, consistent for takeout or in-person dining.Shrimp Blanket: Marinated shrimp rolls with wonton skin served with sweet and sour sauce.
