"La Esperanza has been my go to for Mexican baked goods. They also have a restaurant that serves up the best Pupusa's. Delicious"
"We came in for lunch here. The food I ate was delicious. Enjoyed the yucca and chicharron appetizer plate. The pupusas were so good too. I think one of the best pupusas I've tasted. Our waitress Cindy was super friendly . Highly recommend!"
"Pupusas here are very very good! I love coming here when I get those cravings. The horchata salvadoreña is delicious in my opinion. I know people have mixed reviews in regard to the horchata. I love the complimentary mini tortillas with beans they give you while you wait for your food. I ordered a pupusa de frijol con queso, 1 revuelta and a tamal ( I forgot the name ) lolI highly recommend this little restaurant. Mom and pop restaurants are always the best"
"Food is amazing 10 out of 10 Flavors are bold and delicious Wings and Pupusa are out of this world Catering was spot on at our event. Abel and Ziboney family owner business and services was amazing and spot on. You can truly feel the family warmth in the food and businesses. Truly a comfort food"
"Love this place. One of the only places i would recommend pupusas from.I always say my moms are the best, but these are second. Love the authentic food and staff. Have been multiple times and my kids also love the food."
"LOVED THIS PLACE. I came 45 mins before closing and I just loved loved my pupusas. I got some chicharrón and cheese pupusas and yum! The slaw was really delicious, and the tomato sauce was also flavorful. Usually the tomato sauce will be bland. The pupusas had really good rich flavor. Didnt take too long for my order. I will say that if you are coming to a restaurant and expect great food, do expect a little bit of wait time. Especially if food is made fresh to order! Service was great!"
"I have been coming here 17 years now, the food is bomb and the service is good. I absolutely love the shrimp pupusas and my daughter love the chicken pupusas. They also have a juice/tea/smoothie bar. Try the wild berry with Mango smoothie super tasty and amazing. Come on through and try your luck. The food is good."
"STEPH JUDGEMENT: Awesome hole in the wall pupuseria. We were looking for a pupuseria on the way to Smog City Brewing and this place seemed the most convenient, with decent ratings. We called in our order for pickup. It's a tiny place in a ho-hum strip mall, but you're not there for the ambiance. We got 3 bean & cheese and a spinach and cheese pupusas, and fried plantains. Very sizable--we were counting on leftovers and we got them! Everything was very tasty, but we thought the spinach and cheese could've used a bit more spinach (our only complaint). Service was friendly. We'd definitely go back!"
"Their breakfast was really good, I had the huevos rancheros which comes with everything. I would definitely get it again (actually have been craving it). The pupusas were ok, I would not get those again. Their service was fine, nothing special and the ambiance was what you would expect from a place that serves a variety of food. I would return here for breakfast options."

I stopped by this afternoon to go to another store in this shopping center and saw that they had tamales advertised on the outside window. Tamales take up residence deep in my heart, so I figured I'd grab some to take home. So far I tried the pork and they were delicious. The meat is thick. I thought they might be more carnitas style, but they weren't. They also stuff them full of meat. They're not huge, but for the size, you definitely get your moneys worth and no, it's not mostly masa. They're well priced and they have both Mexican and Guatemalan style. This place is also a full fledged bakery! They have all kinds of cakes, flan, breads, and also the sweet breads. Staff was nice and helpful. I'll definitely be back to try more!

My daughter and I were driving around looking for a restaurant and am so grateful La Esperanza was the restaurant we came upon. Oh my goodness!!! Not only was my tummy incredibly delighted but so was my heart! It instantly brought memories and tastes from my grandparents food!! I always share the stories with my daughter (14yrs old) and this was EXACTLY the experiences that I always wanted her to have. We ordered guacamole, chips, cafe de olla, carne asada plate and Hilachas. Everything was from scratch and made with love! We live in OC and will come back many times over! The service was excellent and the ladies so nice and welcoming!!

I cannot remember having a better vegetarian pupusa! The pupusa was tender and light as well as being very filling. I was given a whole TUB of the cole slaw as well, and the salsa came in a syrup container! I had this for lunch and I KNOW I have no room for dinner! SWEET!!!!

Food**** -- ordered Chimichurri Steak and Sopa De Pata, absolutely loved it. The steak is cooked medium rare and really tender where flap steak is usually overcooked and dry. Soup is not as thick as the menudo which is nice- the cow feet is very tender and full of gelatin highly recommended Service*** -- after we ordered wait for some time until we got our water not sure why, no English menu so prepare to flip thru pic on Yelp if you want to find out what's in each dishesAmbiance*** -- family style, 2 TVs with sports channels on. Nothing stands out but also nothing to complain pretty standard

Food and customer service are great. The restaurant itself needs much work done; the place is old and desperately needs remodeling inside and out.

"Rating this restaurant with 4 stars because I wish the food had a bit more flavor. Overall the staff are nice / helpful . This establishment is clean . This place also doesn't have a parking lot so look out for some on the block"
"This spot has been here for ages. Burned down many years back and while they are back now it's a good spot to get authentic Salvadorian food. The pupusas revuletas are some of my favorites and a good amount or filling . Ordered yuca frita con chicharon and it was nice and crispy not soggy just as it should be ."
"Been living over here for years this place is right next door never tried it. Finally did the food was amazing and the tamales were to die for!! They were fresh and moist!"
"If you're searching for authentic food from El Salvador I highly suggest coming here. Pupusas are filling and delicious and the chicharrón con yuca are amazing! There is a bit of a wait for them to bring out the food but it's because they are making it fresh. They even have fresh bread they sell as well. The waiters here are also nice and welcoming. There is parking in the front and as well in the back."
"Delicios authentic food. Great prices and service. Highly recommend this little restaurant."
"I really wanted some papusas so I came to this place I was not greeted well I was stared at like I had a THIRD EYE. No one asked me if I spoke Spanish they just assumed I did not so i was passed over before anyone spoke to me then the kitchen staff came out to look at me, some guy i think the dish water came out all aggressive and said ( WHAT DO YOU WANT BRO?!?!?!!) I said what ????? Puzzled he repeated WHAT DO YOU WANT. I said I'm in a restaurant I want food, I then said why are you talking to me the waitress can take my order I was talking to HER he then said she dont talk English I said OK I was talking to her in Spanish she turns to him and explains he is talking in Spanish, he walks off then cooks this lady the cook she looks threw me then ask the waitress what I want I say I'm standing right here I ordered papusas the lady then says what ME NO ENGLISH the waitress then says again he is speaking in Spanish so say in Spanish to the cook if you dont speak English why are you here she said because when I walked in one of the servers ran to the kitchen saying a none Spanish looking person just walked in and she wanted help ???????Needles to say I won't come back I wont recommend this place not because of service I can handle that after I say down to wait for my food I was bothered by flies not just one but about 5 that's where I draw the line"
"Ok so this Salvadoran restaurant has been in the city for a while. It did close due to fire a couple of years ago but back . I frequent this place every time I'm in town visiting family. This is a no thrills restaurant so if your looking for a fancy get up look somewhere else. What this restaurant is known for is great food and decent service . The food is probably some of the best I've had and I've been to a bunch of Salvadoran restaurants in LA. Today I ordered 8 pupusas revueltas , 1 order of platanos con todo, 1 pan con pollo , 1 order of yuca grits and chicharon and 2 Salvadoran orchatas(made of Moros not rice type yes there's a difference) . Everything was on point and tasted delicious the pupusas have a generous amount of filling and not just masa. The pan con pollo was delicious with their home made slaw and the yuca hit the spot with crunchy chicharon. A good spot with good food .. not fancy but if good food is what ur into this whole in the wall hits the spot. A must if you're in Bell"
"I was craving fried fish and I didn't want to drive all the way to Cerritos. So, I decided to try this place out, and WOW!!!!! I was amazed at how TASTEFUL the fish was. They gave white rice, beans, and I believe salad on the side? and tortilla! Would love to come here again!"
"What a great restaurant. We love Salvadoran food and their food was fresh and delicious. We ate everything so quickly I didn't get a chance to take pictures, but we had a few things, all were delicious: Cheese Pupusas, Pupusas Revueltas, Yuca Frita con Chicharrón, Mojarra Frita, Costillas Entomatadas, Plátanos con Frijol y Crema, Huevos Revueltos, and a Canoa. Everything was great. Service was perfect too. The waitress was attentive and quick. The ambiance was great too, great music but not too loud. Just right. We'll definitely be going again!"
"DELICIOUS TAMALES! These tamales are wrapped in banana leaves instead of corn husk. They are a little smaller than mexican tamales but are so good. The meat + bean + cheese pupusa is just heaven in your mouth. Made fresh to order. Will order again if I am in the area."
"We had been wanting to try this place. Their pupusa are delicious, fresh made to order. The Curtido and mild salsa are perfect. The service was excellent! She greeted us as soon as we arrived. Inside is nice and clean with a TV to watch sports and another with music videos playing. We had a great time. If you haven't already tried it, definitely recommend it."
