"A good spot when you feel like ramen and want something to hit the spot. We tried the Hakata Tokotsu and the Chicken Paitan and both were good, nothing crazy but good. They are conservative on the spiciness level so I'd definitely get a spicier level next time as my medium spicy was less than a mild elsewhere. Service was great and they have a smooth process, on weekend evenings I'd definitely get on the waitlist from yelp instead of waiting to get there. We went on a rainy Saturday and definitely had to wait about 30/40 minutes so plan ahead! The place itself is also nice and there's plenty of parking within the mall"
"Ordered delivery. Crispy Rice was a huge disappointment. Like freeze dried, rock hard rice. All else was tasty and enjoyed. We would have preferred more chopsticks included along with additional sauce packets/condiments. Shishitos were WONDERFUL. SPICY EDAMAME were WONDERFUL. Rolls were nice. Would order again."

"Made a 20min drive out to check out this 3 time Michelin Star winner restaurant. I am surprised to see reviews on bad customer service because our experience was nice and it was busy. I can understand maybe a language barrier with the gentlemen bringing out the food but our waitress Yoshiko (name on the receipt) was great and taking care of every single table. It is a small place so expect a wait at peak hour. The food did not disappoint everything was great. I would not make the drive out but I'd definitely pay them another visit if I'm conveniently in the area."
"The tsukemen was good and flavorful! They use my favorite type of noodles for the ramen and load you up with the toppings, which I thought was very generous. If you check in on Yelp, you get 2 free toppings, so I definitely took advantage of that! Our server Tristan was so amazing and hooked us up with free sides/toppings for us to try. They were the perfect pairing to the meal!"
"Delicious authentic Japanese dishes, friendly and efficient service. It feels that you are in Japan without the airfare The young couple are wonderful people."
"I used to come here all the time with my parents and siblings, but forgot out this place. My fiance and I actually came to Tozai plaza to go to the sushi place next door (one of our faves), but as we were walking up-- noticed their health score was a "B". We turned around and I asked him if we could have lunch here at Tampopo. Everything was great. The sushi was fresh, the hot rolls came out HOT and not overcooked. The servers were attentive. There wasn't too many people inside, it was about half full on a Wednesday afternoon. We enjoyed all of the food we ordered. Everything was tasty. I would recommend this place for family/friends to come to."
"On cold days, a big bowl of hot noodle soup always sounds so comforting and delicious! The shrimp broth is what Le Shrimp is known for, but I wanted to switch things up from my usual order and try the spicy chicken broth with delicious dark meat chicken and wide noodles. This dish really hit the spot! The chicken was tender and full of yummy five spice flavor, and the noodles were chewy and extremely satisfying. The broth was just spicy enough and very savory. I couldn't get enough of it!Would definitely order this again and I think it would also be a really nice dish if I'm feeling under the weather. Service was friendly and the ambiance at Le Shrimp Noodle Bar is casual. They're pretty efficient too so we got in and out fairly quickly.Look forward to our next visit!"
"Food was good and not so bad for the price. The service was good. The place is a bit small but it's clean. The outdoor is small too but it's still nice"
"Great food and excellent service. I highly recommend Jasmine Hana. It's a good value for the money you pay."
"Nice local sushi joint. Located on a busy street with parking on the sides, very clean and bright interior. They offer a great bento box lunch special and they are very generous with their protein! We also ordered the sushi taco which is real nori coated in tempura as the taco shell. My recommendation -- get the spicy sushi taco!"
"Felt like I was walking into a ramen shop in Japan. Basic decor, fully functional with open kitchen. Service was excellent, quick and courteous. Quick to order and our food was ready in a flash. The smells are soo good they should charge for them. Ordered the vegetable Croquette, miso vegetarian ramen, and wife ordered the Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen. She said it was top notch just as good as Hiro Nori. Glad we stopped by and will be back. Oh btw prices were extremely reasonable."
"Delicious and flavorful. This place is a cute and intimate restaurant like how it would be in Japan. Definitely try the naked shrimp, it's a must. Everyone is really cheery and nice. You can watch the staff cook through the glass window as well."

My go-to Ramen place! Their broth is so creamy, and flavorful. The ambiance is casual, but the service is great! Ordering to go is great too! Have come here as a family, date night, & with my kid. It can get a bit loud if it is busy, but it is worth it for the food!

HB Japonica is fantastic! Their Brussels sprouts are our family favorite--yes, Brussels and sushi sound like an odd combo, but trust me, with the magic of balsamic vinegar and mandarins, it works! I'm grateful they still have outside seating and ample heaters. WORD OF CAUTION: If you're trying to decide which SB Japonica to visit, make it HB--the other locations have seriously lacked in service. The El Segundo team was especially bad, with servers and hosts who go out of their way to avoid eye contact, only speaking with each other, not the patrons, in an "I'm too busy to acknowledge you exist" manner. Once seated, don't expect much--unless you flag someone down because you have an empty bottle of soy sauce on the table - they'll make sure you know you're inconveniencing them.At the Redondo location, we were completely forgotten in a corner after our appetizer order--but to be fair, they shared they were experiencing some staffing issues and comped us some mochi. The food is consistently good to great across all locations, but poor service experience multiple times at El Segundo will keep us from going back to that location.

I've been enjoying the food here for years. Tao is well known for its miso and tsukemen ramen. If you like miso-style ramen, this place is for you. Although I have to watch my sodium intake these days, I occasionally treat myself to a heart-warming bowl or one of their rice bowls. My go-to ramen is the tsukemen, which has cold, thick noodles and warm, miso-savory broth. The Chashu Red Miso Ramen has a flavorful, bold broth and thick noodles. The chashu slices have a meaty texture, and have tender fat ends. If you like food with a kick, check out the spicy options. The regular-size ramen is also filling and more than enough for me to finish. The chicken ramen is also a delicious option if you prefer a lighter yet flavorful broth. The thin noodles and chicken slices were cooked well. Combos are also great options if you are hungry. The gyoza and karange are my favorite starters. Don't sleep on the rice bowls! My favorite is the Beef Bowl, reminiscent of the Japanese-style gyudon bowls from the most popular franchises in Japan. It features thin-cut meat with fatty pieces, sauteed onions, and a flavorful sauce that seeps into the rice. The staff at Tao has been consistently kind and accommodating every time I've dined here. Despite the limited dining space, the service and food quality make it worth the visit. It reminds me of a local ramen joint in Japan. I'm glad there are more top-rated ramen options in OC. The story behind the chef and shop is also interesting and available on their website.

I pray that this place never closes. Japanese American here and I loveeee this restaurant so much. It makes me feel like I'm visiting my late grandmas house. It has a warm home feel to it and smells absolutely delicious right when you walk in. It is a very small location so don't go last minute so the workers can go home on time. The Tokyo yatai shoyu broth ramen is perfect for you if you do not like the overbearing salty and spicy broths which is so hard to find. It is also great if you have a lil sore throat coming on. The noodles are authentic style. They have combination options where you can pick a side of chicken or gyoza with your ramen. Please never close down! Tysm

Finally I got to try this shrimp noodle! I'm very much familiar with this dish because is quiet common in Singapore and my family always takes me whenever I go visit them.Located in South Coast plaza , at their newish food hall , it's very easy to spot and the line moves pretty fast. We were greeted by the manager and I think they were understaffed that night because it took us a while to place an order or even to refill our water. They have couple seat variations with table or booth. We went there on a Friday during Chinese new year week, and they had lion dance inside the food hall! The flavor of the broth is soooo rich, won't recommend if you're allergic to shrimp because my partner got a severe allergic reaction just by tasting it tiny bit ! Can't wait to come back!

This place is one of my favorite build your poke places! The portions are so generous and the ingredients are fresh! Everyone here is also really nice and patient as you pick out your bowl. My go to order is typicallyBase: a mix of white rice and mixed greensProtein: Tuna, salmon, and scallop are all solid Mix ins: cilantro, cucumber, sweet onion, edamame, and green onion (love that you can pick as many as you want) Sauce- ponzu with spicy mayo on the side Sides- imitation crab and seaweed salad (this is perfectly seasoned) toppings- masago, furikake, and always always get the crispy onion and garlic for that amazing crunch. I feel like the cost is pretty darn good for how much food you get. This place is also less than a mile walk to the beach so go get some poke and go eat it on the beach!

"New fav spot!10/10 super delicious! The staff is always chill and very friendly! They're serving up amazing hospitality! Also, the cooks know how to get down on the food! Shout out to the server James today! He was very sweet and helpful!"
"Always a great experience at Ramen Mira. Food is always delicious. Today I got the Special Combo Habanero Ramen and a side of Gyoza and my husband got the Special Combo Habanero Ramen with the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. Ramen was flavorful, hot, spicy and filling. Perfect for a rainy day. For the first time, I tried their Gyoza and Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and WOW delicious, full of flavor. Highly recommended."
"A gem of a find!We stopped here on the recommendation of a friend, we were nor disappointed! I had the Iron Chef Mapo Yaki and my wife had the Donporo Ramen upon the suggestion by the waitress, there were so many choices. The Mapo Yaki had a slight sweet flavor with a hint of spice. Very delicious, the noodles were cooked well and the sauce was very flavorful. The Donporo was equally delicious, the meat was tender and tasty. We shared the 6 piece Gyoza, soft and delicious, it paired well with the sauce from the Mapo Yaki. The food came fast and the service was great, never had to ask for anything except a to-go box.Parking is no problem, but the place fills up fast! There is a bar if no tables are available. Not a huge space but I didn't see a huge line on a Saturday night.Highly recommend, definitely looking forward to a return trip to try the other entrées!!!"
"Honestly, this is my go-to ramen spot in the Fullerton/Anaheim area! The ramen is always a perfect 10/10, and I love that they offer more than just pork broth options for non-pork eaters. I usually go for the miso chicken and make it extra spicy!**Plus, all their fried sushi is amazing."
"Let me start by saying that this place came highly recommended by a friend.I did not think my sushi was fresh. It had an old taste to it that did not make it pleasant - at all. On top of that, there were many gnats flying around our table. It was disgusting.Service was not that great either as 2 of us were served their food and had to wait 5 minutes for our friend to get hers. Speaking of hers, they forgot to bring her a bowl of rice that she had ordered, so we had to wait a bit longer for that. With so many sushi options around, I don't think I'll try this place again."
"What went well? Everything. Kind service. FRESH fish. Lots of interesting roll options. DYNAMITE. Hand rolls. All things I have collectively been missing for YEARS!!!Sushi in a state that borders the ocean, in restaurants in cities that are close to the ocean = 1 billion xs better than inland sushi. Until they start teleporting fish, you cannot convince me otherwise. This restaurant is in a grocery store center so parking is not going to be an issue unless you are lazy. We unknowingly were here for happy hour so the check was a nice surprise but the prices were also shockingly reasonable. It's got that "Cheers" vibe so you can come watch a game on the giant tvs. Seating is standard, sushi bar, tables, booths. SUPER glad we listened to friends, who don't even like sushi, and came here for dinner."
"BEST RAMEN EVER! This location is particularly nice because it's bigger and the wait usually isn't bad compared to the Costa Mesa location. Also plenty of parking! My husband RAVES about the Green Chili Shio Ramen (Regular $15.95) and from what we've seen, this is the only place you can get it. It's perfect if you love spicy food.I personally love the Miso Ramen, substitute chashu for tofu (Regular $15.95). It's super flavorful but not overly greasy and the noodles are thick and chewy. This is generally our go-to ramen spot. You honestly can't go wrong with any item, including the delicious appetizers!"
"Food was good. Definitely perfect when it's cold outside. I only wish there was a little more meat than just one piece."
"Service was slow, nearly nonexistentThey were likely understaffed but stillTook a while to be acknowledged We were overcharged for happy hour menu itemsThe ramen at $18+ a bowl was underwhelming Nothing wowed meTried the red and the black, both were okThe broth was not as rich as a tonkotsu should beThey're having a promo this month - free noodle refills There are better ramen places around"
"8/1/23 A solid choice! I wanted noodles and sushi so this was the obvious remedy, snd it was hubby's pickOur server, Kelly greeted us with a bright smile and told us we could sit anywhere of our choosing. At about 5 pm there were only a handful of patrons. This place is a small restaurant amidst a myriad of eateries in this very busy plaza. For Artesia/Cerritos standards, parking spaces are very small & cramped. We ordered the Tampopo Ramen sets, mine with (ramen) spicy tune sushi & hubby the sane but with teriyaki chicken. We were both famished as this was our first meal of the day. Additionally, I ordered the Tampopo sushi while hubby: salmon Fire sushi. It's true what they say about not shopping while you're hungry coz we ordered with our eyes & stomachs. Yup, it was a lot of food!! The dishes arrived promptly & we dug in-the broth was savory & full of flavor while the ramen noodles was just right in consistency-oh so good. Too much rice on my spicy tuna so I removed some-luckily hubby ate it with his teriyaki chicken. He loved his salmon fire sushi but the sauce was a bit sweet. The tampopo sushi was pretty good & very filling although I would not order it again-the fried flaky garnishing was too overwhelming. They were generous with the avocado filling. One other server, a young man continued to tend to us while Kelly took care of everyone else in the restaurant. We will definitely return whenever the mood strikes for both ramen & sushi."
"One of the best Ramen spots in DTLB! A must try! We came here solely because it was open late, and it has now become a regular for us.First off, their customer service is excellent. It is always pretty quiet, even on a busy night. Secondly, their ramen is absolutely amazing. I always get the lollipop chicken ramen with Udon noddles, and the broth is always on point. Never too salty or greasy. Their prices are also very fair. Two ramen bowls with no additional toppings was less than $30. Parking can be tricky, but there are a couple of parking garages with free 2 hr parking. This place is definitely worth a visit!"
"Been coming here for over a year now and this is the number 1 Ramen around town. Their Spicy Zabon ramen is great for crudas (hangovers) or if you arnt into spice their regular Zabon ramen is a delicious. Definitely a comfort food for cold days or when you need a tummy warmer. Also, don't forget to try their fried rice, Really Good."
"Oh my gosh, another hidden gem discovered by yelp! Hole in the wall gem that definitely didn't disappoint and so happy we decided to try here. Craving ramen and picked this spot. Wanted to be cute and sit at the single spots just like they do in Japan but they also had tables for parties of more than one. Garlic Bomb Ramen was exactly that, Bomb! Love that you can pick Shoyu, Miso, or Spicy Miso base. Opted for Miso and it was just how I like it. So funny, keep in mind they have 20 levels of spice. The worker said it starts to get painful around level 5 haha! Also loved the pork buns! Soft bun, soft meat, tasty sauce and refreshing greens. Will definitely come back :)"
"Holy cow, what a hidden gem! Fast food made fresh to order? Yes, please! The chow mein is the best I've had - never going to Panda Express again. The vegan New Orleans chicken was the bomb, and my bowl (with enough food for 2!) was only $12 with tax! I've had the vegan ramen also which was awesome. The owner/mamager (?) is also super friendly. Can't wait to go back and try everything. Absolutely delicious!"
"Really cozy restaurant. The service was amazing and attentive. The garlic edamame was amazing ! Loved the Spicy Miso Ramen ! They even have a kids menu with a free side for just $5.00, can't beat that. The handmade gyoza was the highlight ! The prices are very reasonable and the food was fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend this place for hearty Japanese meal on the go."
"HIRO Ramen & Udon is my favorite spot for some bomb.com yummy udon. Omg... I wish this place was closer to me, but unfortunately it's not. So whenever I'm in SoCal, I have to come here at least once or twice.I love the U2 Niku Beef Udon. It's perfectly flavorful, delicious, and just food for your soul...and belly. :D It's perfect. I have not tried their ramen, but I'm pretty sure they're good too. I'm just really hooked on the udon. What can I saw.. I'm committed to it. Hehe.. It's really easy to order through the touchscreen, and the service is pretty quick and friendly. I love the self-serve additional things that they have such as the pickled radishes and crunchies. The place is decorated beautifully with the Japanese touches. The bathroom is clean. They have chill music playing. I just simply love this place. I can't wait to come back again the next time I'm in the area. :D"
"First time here today, boy are we glad we gave it a chance. Not only the ambiance is awesome, has that industrial style vibe to it with a mix of urban, vintage kinda rustic elements to it, exposed pipes, large window, weathered woods and metal. Uh I love!!! Now.....drum rolls...the ramen...oh my delicious! The garlic one , tasty!!!! The spicy ramen, give it your level! Mine was # 3 oh boy, spicy, but spicy good!! You can do pork or chicken katsu, amazing!!! We also ordered shumai towards the end, that's good!!! And the price....unbelievable!!! Cheaper than it is out here in San Fernando valley for sure! And worth it! Are you kidding me now? I gotta come out here to San Pedro to have this deliciousness? Hell yeah!!! Whenever we're out here..this is our go to , for ramen!! Also, the service is 10, the wait staff...Friendly. Attentive and smiles all around. This is definitely. highly recommended ! Food is BOMB!!!!"
"So happy to have found a silverlake ramen here!!PROS------Ramen: The ramen is top notch. Arguable one of the best bowls you can get. The flavors are vibrant but balanced. My favorite is the garlic truffle, the broth is so creamy and decadent. Sushi: I think it is such a huge plus that they serve sushi as well! Two of my favorite things done right under one roof, what more could you ask for. Service: The service was very attentive and quick!Ambiance: Great indoor/outdoor areas. I was scared to sit outside because it was cold but they have the best heaters that you can actually feel so no problems with the cold at allDEFINITELY TRY THE RAMEN IF YOU HAVEN'T YET"
"Surprisingly good sushi! I was not expecting what I received because I am selective with my sushi. I ordered the Jessica roll and it was 1) enough of fill me up 2) flavorful 3) good presentation. The service was quick and nice. The place is small which is a little off putting but other than that. If you are craving a good sushi roll, I suggest this place e"
"Love this spot! The first time I tried this spot was months ago, came around 3pm and was seated immediately! The place was very clean and a few other people were eating here as well. Service was great, the servers are always attentive and made sure everything was good. If you're looking to trying a new Japanese/Thai fusion restaurant, I would 100% recommend coming here.Spicy miso ramen: 4/5 pretty good, kind of salty but nothing I couldn't tolerateTom yum ramen: 5/5 my favorite!! I love tom yum soup and even though we came in while it was 102 degrees outside, I still enjoyed the ramen. If you love sour tom yum soup, I would recommend trying this outCream cheese wontons: 2/5 not my cup of tea, but it's good for what you pay for. A good appetizer to fill our stomach up before some entreesCrunchy roll: 5/5 my boyfriend and I enjoyed this roll. We're very simple people, if it's good then it's goodCandy roll: 4/5 this roll has avocado, shrimp tempura and spicy crab meat on top. Very simple roll, nothing too complicatedIf you're open to trying local spots in Long Beach, definitely check this place out! Will be coming back again to try the Thai dishes soon."
"Went in around 3:30pm and there was only 1 other customer there. It use to be a Denney's and they transformed it into a nice well decorated roomy with lots of tables atmosphere. It was Happy Hour 3p-6p so I ordered the Sweet & Sour Baby Pork Ribs $5 with a Ozeki Hot Sake $3.50 and both are delicious at a great price. Then for my main dish I got the Orange Chicken $17 and Shrimp Fried Rice $18 both also very yummy with good portions that I took home for a later snack.Lots of items on the menu to choose from and when your ready to order or you need a server you just push a button on the table.I'll be back to try more of the Happy Hour menu and the Ramen or Pho."
"My husband loves this place. The chicken is delicious but I suggest only ordering the appetizer if extremely hungry. We were only able to finish a couple pieces once we received our ramen. I ordered their signature ramen. The dish was VERY large and filling. I'm usually able to finish an entire bowl but not in this case! My husband enjoyed the Mapo dish and loved it. What he didn't finish, we brought home to add to more noodles. Service was good. Attentive as needed. Small place in a plaza but very clean."
