"This place serves several variations of mazemen (brothless ramen) but I think Original Mazemen is the way to go. It comes with spicy minced pork, poached egg, green onions, chives, seaweed, garlic, and fish powder. Flavor isn't quite as strong as places like MoguMogu, but I also don't get as much of an MSG attack either. I tried the Bulgogi Mazemen and Tonkotsu Ramen as well, but they weren't as good as the Original. The Tonkotsu Ramen tasted weird so I never ordered it again on my repeat visits. Service was friendly but the staff can do a better job in explaining how to eat mazemen for first time customers. There's an instruction on the table but would be nice if they can give verbal instruction and offer some rice at the end, instead of having to ask for it."
"The tsukemen was good and flavorful! They use my favorite type of noodles for the ramen and load you up with the toppings, which I thought was very generous. If you check in on Yelp, you get 2 free toppings, so I definitely took advantage of that! Our server Tristan was so amazing and hooked us up with free sides/toppings for us to try. They were the perfect pairing to the meal!"

"Great ambiance with tables open to the kitchen. Service is quick and friendly. We ordered two Hakata Ramens for $9.50 each-Monday special is a great value. Here are my comments on the food:- Customizable options before you order, very easy, and they actually follow what you put. My partner and I could distinguish the differences in what we ordered.- Broth has a great pork taste, very deep and rich.- Chashu pork is on the thinner side, not as juicy as I would have liked.- Noodles were perfectly cooked; I ordered them firm, and they had a nice bite.- Chashu fried rice is delicious-my favorite side that I tried there.Overall, I will definitely be coming back regularly to this place. Great value, amazing service, and clean, quality food. Love it."
"I am shocked that this place gets such high reviews. Maybe it's because people are comparing it to other AYCE sushi experiences. At $27.99 per person for lunch they cannot be serving high quality fish and still turn a profit. Food: The actual sushi/fish offerings are average at best. If you order any of their rolls it wont matter though. Because they will over sauce it to cover up the fact the fish have no natural sweetness. Their Tonkatsu ramen was very bland. Completely lacked the richness characteristic of a Tonkatsu broth, and the marinated pork had no flavor. Service: The restaurant was roughly 80% full yet it still took 15 minutes to get my first order of sushi. You certainly do get what you pay for in life. At this price point, it's possible that I'm expecting too much."
"Best pregame food! We were in line for Kbbq and we were really hungry and decided to get something quick and this sushi was the perfect treat before eating. The guy who was there working was so kind and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was greeted and comfortable. Come get some rolls!"
"Went in around 3:30pm and there was only 1 other customer there. It use to be a Denney's and they transformed it into a nice well decorated roomy with lots of tables atmosphere. It was Happy Hour 3p-6p so I ordered the Sweet & Sour Baby Pork Ribs $5 with a Ozeki Hot Sake $3.50 and both are delicious at a great price. Then for my main dish I got the Orange Chicken $17 and Shrimp Fried Rice $18 both also very yummy with good portions that I took home for a later snack.Lots of items on the menu to choose from and when your ready to order or you need a server you just push a button on the table.I'll be back to try more of the Happy Hour menu and the Ramen or Pho."
"Such a cozy place, Ramens super good, the Sushis amazing. We ordered Kara miso ramen, volcano roll, Bake salmon roll , Okinawa Sashimi, spicy garlic edamame . Everything tasted excellent.Fresh and delicious options and a buy one get one 50% on a big portion of the menu. The price was right. Servers are always friendly and accommodating. Love this place !"
"All around fantastic eexperience. Food, service, experience - on point! I can not wait to return."
"First time here today, boy are we glad we gave it a chance. Not only the ambiance is awesome, has that industrial style vibe to it with a mix of urban, vintage kinda rustic elements to it, exposed pipes, large window, weathered woods and metal. Uh I love!!! Now.....drum rolls...the ramen...oh my delicious! The garlic one , tasty!!!! The spicy ramen, give it your level! Mine was # 3 oh boy, spicy, but spicy good!! You can do pork or chicken katsu, amazing!!! We also ordered shumai towards the end, that's good!!! And the price....unbelievable!!! Cheaper than it is out here in San Fernando valley for sure! And worth it! Are you kidding me now? I gotta come out here to San Pedro to have this deliciousness? Hell yeah!!! Whenever we're out here..this is our go to , for ramen!! Also, the service is 10, the wait staff...Friendly. Attentive and smiles all around. This is definitely. highly recommended ! Food is BOMB!!!!"
"Been here twice already and overall I find this to be an underrated, solid ramen place! The first time I was here I got the tonkotsu ramen and it hit the spot! The broth was rich, I opted for the thick noodles and that really made it a hearty meal. Good flavor! The latest time I went I tried the vegan ramen, and tasted some of the wonton shoyu. The vegan ramen was so good! The cauliflower had this nice roasted flavor to it and the broth was so rich, you wouldn't think vegan broth could be rich and flavorful but this is! The only other place I've had vegan ramen is hironori, and I think both nail their vegan ramen. So if you like that one, this one is on par and unique in its own way. I love swapping the noodles for the thick noodles, and adding garlic + spicy paste to the broth. I tried a little of the shoyu and that was delicious and classic also. Located in a slightly unassuming plaza, this is a reliable ramen place that isnt too busy. Next time, I will definitely try the mazesoba.Recommend if your craving ramen in the garden grove area!"
"Food was good and not so bad for the price. The service was good. The place is a bit small but it's clean. The outdoor is small too but it's still nice"
"Came here by chance, after being at Dripp next door. They kind of share the outside patio, however the restaurant cuts off half for their patrons only. We ordered jalapeño poppers as an appetizer, spicy but delicious!I ordered the Philadelphia roll and a draft Sapporo to go with it. Roll was a good size and tasted fresh. We ate on the patio since it was nice and shaded with their pergola. Service was very friendly. Overall I'd recommend and come back."

We went about an hour and a half before closing, so there was no wait! The servers were nice and the food was absolutely delicious! The combination of flavors for each individual bowl complimented each other so well. My favorite was the bulgogi bowl of noodles, it had the most appealing flavors for my preference. You were also offered some rice to mix with any leftover sauce once you have finished your noodles. There were also rice bowls with the same toppings but we all opted for the noodles so we will def have to go back and try them! Overall great place and would live to have again.

A Fountain Valley staple! Congratulations on 23 years of business. They had an anniversary sale this weekend for 50% off ramen, only $6.25 a bowl. Service was speedy! There was a table to check people in at the door with order forms, orders taken quickly and food was ready. We arrived early at 10:30am, and they let us in before opening time. No wait at all, even faster than normal days. Ramen can be customized: firmness of noodle, intensity of soup base, amount of oil, and additional add on toppings. Bowl comes with 2 slices of chashu pork, noodles, sesame, ginger and green onion.

I genuinely cannot express how happy I am to have stumbled upon this new AYCE Sushi spot. I had heard of their other locations before, but never had a chance to actually go to one until I was in the area and noticed that this one had opened up. The quality of the sushi was great for an AYCE sushi spot, and the rice to fish ratio was perfect in my opinion. The fish was nice and tasted fresh, from their salmon to their yellowtail. I love that they have other options as well in addition to their sushi, such as ramen, udon, or hand rolls. Generally, when a sushi spot tries to do too much all at once, they fall short in certain areas, but X-Fish Izakaya is not one of those restaurants. While their ramen was average at best, the rest of their options definitely make up for it. They do have a cooldown time for ordering, but we did not notice this too much, as we were busy eating while the timer ran down and by the time we finished, we were able to order more immediately!

this place is right next to my house pretty good super friendly sushi were rolls where a nice size. I got the baked salmon roll. It was really good, but I did not understand why they put cold cream cheese in the sushi roll. Other than that. Everything else was pretty good. I also got. A shrimp tempura roll. That was really good. Definitely be back and definitely no cream cheese. lol

I loved the brothy spicey chicken ramen bowl. Took half home. Excellent value. Partner had Gengis Kahn ramen bowl. He lived it. The broth is heavier than the spicey chicken. Definitely recommend both. We had the house tea. It was tasty, rich and sweet...it was like dessert. It will take some getting used to ringing the button each time we need something. They do respond promptly. The ambiance is gentle, fresh and asian with booths and large table for 6+.

Kopan Ramen has always been my favorite Ramen place! The ramen is so flavorful especially when you add their hot sauce for extra spice! I usually eat at the restaurant but decided to order take out instead. The restaurant is always clean and the waiters attend you immediately! The chicken cutlet ramen is always the way to go!

I love how this sushi place is on the pier. I frequent this place normally at night. The staff is friendly. Sushi tastes great. It can be quite hot during the summer, but you are on the beach, so summer nights are the best. Sushi tastes fresh. My favorites are the Yellowtail and green onion roll, the Dynamite & the Oyster Shooter. These are definitely my ultra favorites. I normally order: Fatty Tuna, yellowtail, inari, salmon, albacore, California roll, and sweet shrimp sushi. They have a large selection of sake and Japanese beer. I normally order the large sake. The price is not too bad, but it'll be worth the money. The Redondo Beach Pier has a big parking area, but we mainly take Uber to this establishment. They have about 2 -3 Sushi chefs on site, so there is never a long wait after you place your order. We normally sit at the sushi bar and try to come during non-peak hours (weekday nights)

"Just came back from about a month in Japan, so my standards for ramen is probably more particular than usual. Almost faltered with coming in but so glad I didn't. Got the crispy pork ramen. Broth was decent, and would've merited a 4 stars. But the pork made this dish an easy 5 stars. Protein portion was generous. I didn't take a pic before eating because I didn't expect to be pleasantly surprised like so...so much so that I'm posting this as I am seated at the restaurant.Noticed the negative reviews were from 5-6 years ago, but if you look at the recent posts, they're pretty stellar. Was curious so I asked the server and was told the ownership transitioned to 4 friends about 2 years ago. I have without a doubt once H Mart opens in this plaza that this place will be buzzing. Def an underrated place"
"Made a 20min drive out to check out this 3 time Michelin Star winner restaurant. I am surprised to see reviews on bad customer service because our experience was nice and it was busy. I can understand maybe a language barrier with the gentlemen bringing out the food but our waitress Yoshiko (name on the receipt) was great and taking care of every single table. It is a small place so expect a wait at peak hour. The food did not disappoint everything was great. I would not make the drive out but I'd definitely pay them another visit if I'm conveniently in the area."
"I feel like the quality can vary at different Silverlake locations, but I really enjoyed the ramen here. The service was nice & fast, which was a plus since we were trying to make it to a movie right after. The tonkatsu with pork is my go-to, and I thought the broth was super flavorful but not too rich. The noodles were soft & the meat was tender. Great place in Bella Terra to get a fast & high quality bite to eat!"
"This is located in the food court in Tokyo Central. Dining gets packed after noon, so if you don't want to be scavenging for seating come a but earlier on weekend. Ramen was delicious! I wanna come back to try all the flavors. The fried chicken was AMAZING I only got 2 pieces from the combo. Next time imma buy a whole box. Tables are clean, it's pretty crowded on weekend. Will definitely come back !"
"Honestly I think this is the best Shin sen Gumi location out of all of them. The broth was so flavorful and rich. The noodles were cooked to perfection. The service was quick and enjoyable too"
"My boyfriend found this place on yelp last year when we moved to the area. We had yet to try Don's until few weeks ago, especially since I am not a big fan of teriyaki. Tonight we picked up again. For the second time, and I am a fan now! The food is really fresh, and you can really tell. The macaroni and potato salad taste freshly made, as with the meat. I like to get the sauce on the side, and still get all the flavor. This is definitely our new Friday night stay-at-home-date-night go to"
"Always a great experience at Ramen Mira. Food is always delicious. Today I got the Special Combo Habanero Ramen and a side of Gyoza and my husband got the Special Combo Habanero Ramen with the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. Ramen was flavorful, hot, spicy and filling. Perfect for a rainy day. For the first time, I tried their Gyoza and Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and WOW delicious, full of flavor. Highly recommended."
"Large, spacious, and classy but casual interior. We had a 30 minute wait for a party of 2 on a Thursday night. HAPPY HOUR MENU- tom kha chashu ramen ($12): 9.2/10. SO GOOD !!! rich, delicious, and creamy. heavy but not too heavy that you get sick of it. so flavorful. RECOMMEND.- crispy calamari ($10): 7.2/10. pretty normal. Very yummy spicy mayo sauce that comes with it. Could have used a little more sauce and a lime/lemon on the side. Not a must.- hokkaido scallop crudo ($12): 9.0/10. DELICIOUS AND FRESH. i LOVE scallops. the yuzu sauce/marinate they serve the scallops with is SO GOOD and complements the scallops perfectly.- 3 set yakitori skewers ($10): 6.8/10. The chicken thigh and sausage skewers were pretty mediocre. Nothing special. However, the scallop skewer was DELICIOUS. I would just order the scallop skewer to be honest but each skewer is much more expensive when bought individually and not in the happy hour set."
"Holy cow, what a hidden gem! Fast food made fresh to order? Yes, please! The chow mein is the best I've had - never going to Panda Express again. The vegan New Orleans chicken was the bomb, and my bowl (with enough food for 2!) was only $12 with tax! I've had the vegan ramen also which was awesome. The owner/mamager (?) is also super friendly. Can't wait to go back and try everything. Absolutely delicious!"
"My absolute favorite ramen spot in the area. Their Tsukemen just always hits the spot. There's generally a line on the weekends so I get there 30 minutes before opening.Parking can be tough sometimes because it's a small plaza. Service is generally friendly and quick. Not sure I would recommend this place for large parties (6+) since it can be a bit crowded."
"Yum!!!!!When they closed down the Hakata in Lake Forest I was so sad! We used to go there a lot. This is my first time trying the Costa Mesa location and I was not disappointed. I tried the new Tokyo tonkotsu ramen. It tasted just like the ramen in Japan. This place is giving Tsujita a run for their ramen! I tried so many ramen houses in the States, but Tsujita and Hakata are still my favorite. The servers were all really nice and attentive. The restaurant looked like a ramen house in Japan.HAPPY RAMENING!!"
"Arrived on a Wednesday around 11am. Place wasn't too crowded but they do not sit you until your entire party arrives. I never dined at a ramen restaurant as I don't normally eat ramen. However, my co worker convinced me to go. I was hesistant as most dishes had pork and I don't like eggs that are runny. I ordered based on the servers recommendation, TONKOTSU RAMEN, which consists of Pork chashu, spinach, green onion, seaweed, bean sprouts, half egg. I was able to substitute the pork with chicken. My co worker ordered the same but with pork and an extra egg. Surprisingly, I had a fantastic experience at this ramen restaurant. The food was delicious, with a flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. The chili spices available on the table allowed me to customize the heat to my liking, which made the meal even better. One thing to note is that gratuity is automatically added to the bill, but the service was good, so it didn't bother me too much. Overall, a great spot for trying ramen for the first time and I would definitely return."
"Felt like I was walking into a ramen shop in Japan. Basic decor, fully functional with open kitchen. Service was excellent, quick and courteous. Quick to order and our food was ready in a flash. The smells are soo good they should charge for them. Ordered the vegetable Croquette, miso vegetarian ramen, and wife ordered the Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen. She said it was top notch just as good as Hiro Nori. Glad we stopped by and will be back. Oh btw prices were extremely reasonable."
"HIRO Ramen & Udon is my favorite spot for some bomb.com yummy udon. Omg... I wish this place was closer to me, but unfortunately it's not. So whenever I'm in SoCal, I have to come here at least once or twice.I love the U2 Niku Beef Udon. It's perfectly flavorful, delicious, and just food for your soul...and belly. :D It's perfect. I have not tried their ramen, but I'm pretty sure they're good too. I'm just really hooked on the udon. What can I saw.. I'm committed to it. Hehe.. It's really easy to order through the touchscreen, and the service is pretty quick and friendly. I love the self-serve additional things that they have such as the pickled radishes and crunchies. The place is decorated beautifully with the Japanese touches. The bathroom is clean. They have chill music playing. I just simply love this place. I can't wait to come back again the next time I'm in the area. :D"
"Love this spot! The first time I tried this spot was months ago, came around 3pm and was seated immediately! The place was very clean and a few other people were eating here as well. Service was great, the servers are always attentive and made sure everything was good. If you're looking to trying a new Japanese/Thai fusion restaurant, I would 100% recommend coming here.Spicy miso ramen: 4/5 pretty good, kind of salty but nothing I couldn't tolerateTom yum ramen: 5/5 my favorite!! I love tom yum soup and even though we came in while it was 102 degrees outside, I still enjoyed the ramen. If you love sour tom yum soup, I would recommend trying this outCream cheese wontons: 2/5 not my cup of tea, but it's good for what you pay for. A good appetizer to fill our stomach up before some entreesCrunchy roll: 5/5 my boyfriend and I enjoyed this roll. We're very simple people, if it's good then it's goodCandy roll: 4/5 this roll has avocado, shrimp tempura and spicy crab meat on top. Very simple roll, nothing too complicatedIf you're open to trying local spots in Long Beach, definitely check this place out! Will be coming back again to try the Thai dishes soon."
"Not good. Maybe because we redeemed the buy one get one free ramen off uber eats. We picked up the order and my husband was at the restaurant before it was even ready...It's about a 5 min drive homeNoodles were hard , egg was cold. Meat was dry. Our spicy tuna roll was okay but definitely not fresh."
"Ordered their signature Shacho Ramen (#18) and added a flavored boiled egg. Honestly, I was floored with how delicious and rich the broth was. Some of the best ramen I've had in a long time. The portion was huge too and was happy to have lunch leftovers the next day. Also tried the pork buns which are served in a taco style. The sauce they put on them was delicious and elevated the whole thing. It was pretty packed when we showed up on a Sunday evening but we were sat pretty quickly and although we had to wait a bit (I'm not mad they were busy with take-out orders too!) it was definitely worth the wait. The restaurant itself was pretty small but it was well maintained and clean. Staff was super friendly too."
"This place just recently opened up close to us where our go-to Chinese food place used to be so we wanted to try it out. The dining room was decorated with all sorts of Anime pics and drawings. They were playing latino music and had Shrek playing on their big screen tv at the front! The food was good to where we would come back and try more of the menu. Portions were also a good size. We got checked up on a couple of times, and at the time it was not busy. They were still getting the hang of it down but glad this place finally opened."
"Don't judge the broth until you've tried it! Yes, all their broths are vegetable-based, but don't let that turn you away. You won't even notice--it's that rich, creamy, and packed with flavor.I got the Quarts ramen, and it was seriously delicious. The chicken? You'd think it might be dry, but nope--super tender and easy to eat. At nearly $17, it might not look like the biggest portion at first glance, but trust me, it gets the job done.Fast and friendly service, cozy vibes--definitely a great spot for a rainy day"
"Sushi and ramen. The best of both worlds on a cold SoCal night. We got word there was a new sushi spot in Buena Park so we decided to try it out. My son and I are suckers for good sushi. Imagine our surprise when we found out they had ramen too! We were absolutely delighted at this double happiness! Lunar New Year has brought us great fortune indeed! The service was so friendly and warm that we felt like we could ask a lot of questions for given it is a new restaurant and people tend to be shy about speaking up sometimes. We quickly order the tonkatsu ramen for my son, black garlic ramen for me and we split the sushi order - tuna, salmon, albacore and negitoro. What a treat. The food came so fast and before we even knew it, we were chopsticks and fork deep into the ramen, slurping our soup spoons and loving the tasty chashu. The wood ear mushroom was firm yet not chewy. How did they do that? Amazing! Then the sushi arrived. *Cue the church music*Oh wow. It was so good and as much as we were and we wanted to dive right in, you all know we had to do pics first or no one would believe it happened. Super fresh and firm texture told us the quality of the fish was definitely a cut above some of the sushi restaurants we have been to. Just the right amount of wasabi and WOW! Perfect! You can see from the pics how much my son was loving the meal. The smile was equally big on my face! If you are in Buena Park or anytime you want BOTH good ramen and sushi, come here. You will be glad you did. And yes, we will be back but next time, we will bring the wife so she isn't missing out. (She wasn't crazy that we discovered this new fav without her. )"
"Came back for the good sushi and this time they did not have a wait! The carpaccio sushi was good and my favorite is the Alaskan roll. I don't know if it was the food or the music but it got me vibing."
"Ordered takeout from here tonight and I was soooo satisfied. It's crazy how good food could make you feel so happy. I ordered 1 Pork Chashu Tonkatsu ramen with 2 and a half eggs since my bf and I were sharing. The amount of food was very shareable and the packaging was neat and well packaged. The noodles were perfectly cooked, al dente just how I like them. They had a nice bounce even after I microwaved them :) I liked the chili oil provided with my ramen. It was a light spice that didn't destroy my tongue. I ordered spice level 2.All in all I had a very nice experience with the host, and I thought the ramen was absolutely delicious. I worked at a ramen shop for 2 years (if you need some credibility for my review haha). All smiles in there from all the staff. Keep it up the great work"
"This is probably one of the best local spots for authentic Japanese food! I wish I could come here more often but there's usually always a wait, and for good reason. The sushi is always fresh, the ambiance is nice, servers are very attentive, and everything here is reasonably priced! My favorite thing to get is the Nabeyaki udon. I love udon (I used to work at an udon restaurant) and theirs definitely does not disappoint. They really fill up the pot with ingredients (chicken, fishcakes, veggies, tempura flakes) so you'll be full, and it's only $14! If you want to avoid the wait, make sure to come on a weekday before 6pm. It's definitely worth the wait though!"
