"the venue is pretty tiny..the room is kinda stuffy...i know its an old place but the ground seems kinda unsteady too...bathrooms are single stall...i came to see an indie's band play #Kid Cadaver which they made a great performance. a lot of these new indies with such great talent...parking next door for 7 bucks. on sunset strip so its always traffic.."
"This place is lit. If you see it for what it is, a gathering place for the young, who have eyes that make club lights sparkle in a special way than this place is for you. It is where to live and dream a phase. The party phase of your life. This place allows you to bump and grind with others, or with yourself, or with your friends, Basically it has vibes and beats that welcomes all. This place is full of life, if you care to live life in a club with a young atmosphere. The party begins before you hit the club. While I was waiting in line, I stood next to a pottery studio, or was it drawing? No I think it was a pottery studio. It was late at night and a few people were working on their art. I could see them focused on their vases and such. They did not look up. They probably were used to being looked upon that they ignored it. They were not dolphins in a an aquarium performing for bored line waiters. It would have been nice to look up from time to time, and smile. But yet, I respect that they were trying to find a moment of zen amidst their clay and hands. It is funny because we were all trying to escape to a good time, some made vases out of clay and others aimed to bump and grind to loud music. Another example that truly showcases that their are strokes for different folks. The club itself pops. I remember going there one Halloween night. And it being a true halloween party attendant by the modest of LA. The reason why I say that is because I have been there a few times, and I never really see the bar, busy like that. In fact last time I went, the bar was completely empty. I had some water in a cup. I did not pay for a bottle. Come on now! I asked the bartender "Do you think that people do not buy drinks because they were young or broke?" He reflected for a second and said both. So the crowd here like I said is young. I did witness a party. The dance floor was full--- at different times I went. If you go there on a Saturday night then the place will pop. If you go, like on Sunday, when the next they there is no work or school, then you will see less but more than other bars and dance floors. Oh as I waiting in line the hot dog vendor had a nice looking speaker and she blasted reggeton. The party hit on the street thanks to their meaningful addition to the night. If you expect boogie drinks, the gliterrari of Hollywood or the LA hit, don't. Go somewhere else. But if you are looking to party freely with those that belong to the graffitied streets then this place waits. And when I say belongs to the street, I mean they belong to fun, earthy and evolving site of LA, not the polished, glamorous or manicured sites of LA."
"I don't visit the The Wayfarer often, but when I do I always have a good time. The food is worth a visit in its own right. The pulled pork sliders, for instance, are a thing of beauty. I've never had better pulled pork anywhere and heaven knows I've eaten my share of it over the years. The service is friendly and on the ball every time. Ambience wise, it's a roomy, comfortable place with lots of places to sit. I like to sit at the bar, but that's personal preference. Booze wise its full bar with a nice selection of craft beers. The place attracts some really good bands, including some that tour nationally. Last night, we saw Jerry Joseph. He was great. The Wayfarer is a good place worthy of your attention.Cheers!"
"Come for the music and fun vibes. Eat elsewhere. I came here when At the Top first opened some years ago and was immediately impressed by the spacious venue and loungy furniture. The sound system didn't carry throughout the place very well, but seems they have improved it by adding more speakers to every corner of the place. I have come recently for Urban Society LB's R&B Brunch and it has been such a turnt up party! I feel good being vaccinated since a lot of people are indoors without masks here, though all the windows are open. Apparently, it's hard to get into this event because tickets sell out within minutes, but my diligent friend has managed to get us tickets and a table, so we have some space to ourselves and an area to sit. A bottle of champagne/sparkling wine is about $20. Their simple brunch menu consists of the worst chilaquiles I've had, decent chicken and waffles, avocado toast with a street corn twist, and a hearty breakfast burrito. The food is really just there to fill people's stomach with all the booze intake. If you have a table, the servers are very attentive and nice. Ordering drinks at the bar is also a reasonable wait. The music and fun atmosphere make it all worthwhile though! It does feel as if covid never happened so if you're not ready for this environment, I'd save it for much later!"
"I hate to admit it, but I haven't been back here since my hubby opened for Vonda Sheppard! What a great venue to see a show. Very small and intimate but they can back em in! The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a separate bar to your left when you walk in that has some seats. You can hear the show and watch it on the screens if you prefer. Otherwise it's mostly standing room only. I believe the seats up in the balcony are more expensive and given to a few VIP's. There is a second bar in the back across from the stage. We were standing right at the stage so we had no obstacles in our way while listening to Shawn Colvin & KT Tunstall. They were amazing together and so funny! The room was packed but our fellow music lovers could not have been nicer. *The restrooms are located in the front bar and in the way back past the bar in the main room. *There was a long line when we arrived just after the doors opened but it moved quickly. *They offer Valet parking *Plenty of street parking (just read the signs and you may have to park a bit further away from the venue. *NO Food is served here. Just drinks."
"I am quite fond of this venue to see some music acts. Its a pretty small intimate space ( I believe the capacity is 600). It's not super crowded, you can get table service if you want but usually those tables aren't fully booked, so if you want you can actually sit down on the right hand side and use those tables (especially later in the night). There's 2 bars but the front bar has front and back sides so I guess its like 3 bars. there's 2 bathrooms one in front and one in the back and there's a smoking area if you want to smoke or get some smoky fresh air if its getting too hot in there for you. The security there is pretty chill, didnt' get any of that cattle call nonsense with flashlights telling you to move along and no crazy pat downs or whatever just walk through a metal detector. The sound is pretty good without being overwhelmingly loud, there's really not bad spots because the club is so small, its only one big dance floor with tables to the right hand side of the club. I really like their moving lantern ceiling thing, that thing is a vibe to itself. Although occasionally whoever is doing the lighting leaves the crowd in the dark for long stretches of time, but i'm sure its because they were forgetful or something. Its right off of Hollywood Blvd and La Palma, so if you dont want to wait for the crunch of cars on La Palma just walk down a bit and it'll be easier to catch ride share out.I'm a fan, will definitely be back."
"What a cute and homelike Irish pub! This a def a local favorite! First time here and it was a vibe! Service was a bit slow but only for a short while. There were changing the beer kegs ?? Def recommend their Kilkenny Irish cream Ale! So tasty! If you're into Irish whiskey and would like to branch out from the typically known whiskeys in the market this is the place. They have a variety of whiskeys most people haven't heard of and they are in my opinion better than Jameson and so forth! Family friendly and they have little kids performances during the day. Maybe next time we have dinner here"
"I've come here a couple times now and always get the same experience - good energy and nice staff . I've ordered from the same young guy and he's always been helpful and has a warm personality giving me advice on which beer tastes the least like beer for my tastes lol all the folks just hang out , play pool, and listen to music together it feels like they're having a nice reunion and catching up . Haven't tried the food yet but I'll consider for next time ."
"This place is amazing. Really has a fabulous retro vibe. Great dance floor with plenty of seating. I would like to one day rent this place out with robots only to teach them how to dance so when people say "I can do the robot" they would no longer be able to just bend their arms and move them back and forth. Thank you"
"This a staple hangout on for HB locals. Open Kate, Live music, dancing, drinks.... What more do you need. Had a great time.."
"Great place to have a drink and also their food is great if you get hungry. Good people hang out there!"
"Came here tonight for the very first time. There was plenty of seating, live band and they also played music. I really enjoyed myself. Staff is quick with drinks. The view is pretty awesome and it's off the main strip, which was nice. Ages ranged from 30-40 here. Mixed vibes for sure."

On the Rox is on top of the Roxy. I remember years ago hanging in this general area and hanging at Rainbow with my rock boys. How did I never know On the Rox was here? You go up a flight of stairs. Some $5 beer specials and some other drink specials. They need better ventilation in there but every old school venue is like that in LA so oh well. Good performance from Slant and Koom the Ripper!!!!! Definitely a good time and a very chill venue. No cover. Bar. Performances. Booths. Very chill. What more do you want? :D

I went here for the ACCR after party for Romy and it was paaaaaaaacked! I appreciate the venue and how it had multiple different floors, but OMG -- once Romy was on it, it was so hot and congested. Good luck moving anywhere. Overall, this place is pretty big and special in LA. I used to come here back in the 2010s for club nights (oh to be young again), and it was funny how I came full circle and ended up back here again after a Los Globos hiatus. This is a good place to check out if there's a special event!

Came here for a birthday party which also happened to be the LBCS(Long Beach social club) 5 year anniversary of their party which was an R&B brunch . The situation was lit and definitely my first time experiencing such a fun party. Part of the music took me back to the day but there was hardly any room to dance, so if you plan on having an event make sure to get there early and claim your spot! Otherwise food was on point, service was on point all the bussers were constantly sweeping tables and stuff. just an all around excellent vibe

Under an alcohol induced haze, I had an excellent time at the Troubadour. This institution has been around since 1957, and hosted many world-famous bands. The venue reminds me of a mini, House of Blues, with an upstairs perch allowing for additional viewing of the stage below. They also have a front bar area which is more or less separate from the stage/bar area. As one might expect, I wish they had more bar coverage, just be patient. The young ladies working the stage bar did a great job, I was impressed with their hustle. On this particular Saturday night (07/13/2024) the venue was hosting, Canal Street. I would call them a "ragtag" band that covers a wide array of music. They tend to dip their toe into 70's/80's rock, but their musical fascination expands well beyond that. As an example, they went from Black Sabbath to Led Zeppelin to Britney Spears, talk about diverse! In between you can expect the likes of Billy Idol, the Killers, and the Go Go's, to name a few. This band of 7 brings the fun with diverse musical stylings that go between female and male lead vocals.I found the Troubadour to be a fun venue and a great place to watch a concert. Parking can be a challenge.

Our first time at Sound was awesome! We went to go see some DJs that a friend had recommended and tickets were only $25 but the DJs were amazing. The sound system/bass was great too, I really felt the music in my body haha. It does get a little loud so I would recommend bringing earplugs. The bartenders and door ppl were friendly as well and the restroom was actually really clean for a club. There's also an outdoor patio for smoke/fresh air breaks and luckily it didn't feel too crowded on the night we went. Would definitely go back!

The Auld Dubliner in Long Beach is like stepping into a slice of Ireland, except with way better weather. Let's talk about the food: the shepherd's pie? So good it made me rethink my entire life's choices up until this meal. The fish and chips? The portion was so big I thought they accidentally gave me a family platter. Now the bar. The Guinness? Perfectly poured, smooth as an Irish lullaby. Bartenders Eddie and Jeff were top-notch, attentive, quick, and slinging drinks like pros.If you're looking for great food, cold beer, and bartenders who make you feel like family - then this is your place.

"Awesome little venue with cool sound and nice bar set up and everything you would need to have an amazing time! That venue was fun came to see some friends bands play and let me say it sounded good and just had a whole vibe here like you can't go wrong! They had some cold brew too so you really cant go wrong with a drink and a show!Overall it was a punk show that was a good time I couldn't have had a better night here!"
"Decent venue, nothing fancy, but is affordable, sometimes you can snag a spot on the street near by, they have cool acts and events. I am surprised I never reviewed it since I have been going to the Echo for over 10 years for concerts, NYE parties and always had a good time. The crowd is OK, bathrooms clean enough, drinks are reasonably priced.I like their DJ-s and their sets, really fun and gets you on that dance floor. I prefer small venues like the Echo, more intimate, with more character, edgier! Keep your eyes on their Events calendar!"
"I came here Saturday night for a concert and I really liked this venue/Bar.For parking if you get here early and are lucky there is a small lot with parking spaces. If not it looks like there is street parking. As mentioned on their website DO NOT park in the auto zone parking lot. You will get towed. The doors opened at 8PM this night and they kept it on time. They check your ID as this is a 21 and over establishment and they do check as one person in front of me was denied entry for not having his ID.Once they check your ID they scan your ticket. its a pretty simple process. On this night the concert was sold out so there was a separate line for people who were trying to get tickets that were going to be available later on at night. Once you are scanned in you are at the patio where they have merch, one food vendor (or at least on this night as I've heard there is not always food) and some benches. Don't quote me on this but I would assume this is also a smoking area?On the right hand side is the entrance to the Bar. Its pretty small venue with a long bar and plenty of open area to stand and enjoy the concert. There is very limited seats I would say no more than 20/30 seats towards the back of the venue so if you need or want one get there right when doors open as these were all gone within 30 minutes or less of doors opening. The show started close to 9pm with 3 opening acts. Main act did not get on until about 11:15PM and they were on stage for about an hour.Drinks prices are not to bad but one weird thing is that the prices were not consistent. I ordered a Captain & Coke two times from one of the girl workers and was charged $9 but when I ordered from one of the guys he charged me $10 so not sure what happened there.I would for sure come back here to see another band here as its small and intimate venue."
"Since this was the last day in 2024 for Magic Key Holders, I thought I would try the Magic Key special: MK Float Flight (Taste a Trio of Ice Cream Floats)One each of:1) Traditional Barq's Root Beer Float.2) Coca-Cola Float with Grenadine Syrup topped with 2 Maraschino Cherries.3) Sprite Float with Grenadine Syrup topped with 2 Maraschino Cherries. Each had it's unique flavoring, taste, and reaction (YES! as the Coke foam-exploded when I first used the spoon to get some ice cream :0 )Truly, a FULL-filling experience for one person. For the price, I think it was well worth the trio. The Golden Horseshoe had plenty of seating downstairs for having a line OUT THE DOOR (which is out of the norm). If you needed more seating, one could always go upstairs.I do miss the shows, none present while I was there.Highly recommend if you want to get off your feet along with refreshments as there are so many things to eat & drink around GH."
"Minor crowd + good bar food. This combo is hard to Beet! Blue Beet is a dive bar that sits pretty close to the Newport Beach Pier. This spot is known for its multi level rooms, including a pretty cool rooftop area that overlooks the ocean. On a clear day you can even see Catalina! Despite being in a very popular area, Blue Beet is hidden in a small alcove. It doesn't get as much traffic as it's neighboring bars, which makes it the perfect local hang. They also serve food, which is a major win in my book. I ordered the chicken nachos and the pickle fries. Both fried munchies were made to perfection for a drunk stomach. I ended up sharing these with a group of 5+ and it was more than enough food to get the job done."
"I went to an event here hosted by Mazza - focusing on afrobeats. Crowd was great, live music and performers were awesome! Such a cute balcony and set up."
"Oh the Stardust. We've played here twice now and its been okay. We only book here because we play with a band that LOVES it here, we're not sure why, but hey a show is a show. The Venue:Its dark, the bar is large and there is a seating area in front of the stage along with a backroom with pool tables. The Stage: I'm not a fan of this stage. The boards are creaky and I always feel like i might fall thru. Scary times. The Sound:They have a PA that no one can ever seem to figure out. I played half of a show with minimal/no vocals. The stage is set up oddly that when the sound projects it bounces back and there is a little weirdness for the drummers. The Bar:We didn't even get free water bottles. This place doesn't hook it up. Parking:Parking sucks here. Its in a mini mall type of strip and there is parking in front of different stores but its usually crowded."
"Saturday pool tournament. Great people here. Good food. They have plenty of parking. Small parking lot but lots of street parking."
"We love this place. It is located right in Torrance in the Torrance Cultural Arts Center. It is perfect. Parking is not only free, it is easy. I am disabled and was able to have my husband drive me right to the front and drop me off. He then parked himself and we met at the front. This is an all volunteer staff and they are lovely. They will help you find your seat or buy what you want. They have beer and wine and snacks. You can have them in the lobby or in their adorable outdoor seating error. I don't think you can take in anything but water, I just don't recall. They also have soda and all their snacks are in the cute logo bags. You can tell the volunteers are proud of this place and they should be.There is not a bad seat in the house. The seats are comfortable and the entire space is spotless. You can even go outside if you need a break or there is an intermission. We took out grandson to the see The Bill Withers Songbooks and it was amazing. The sound was perfect. The singer and his band were just great and he sounded like Mr. Withers. He also did some of his own music and it was great.Getting in and out is easy. The patrons are nice. The staff is the best,There is nothing not to like so you must go. Use their website or Google TOCA and you will find a list of upcoming events. The area is safe, it is all just wonderful."
"Came here last night and we had to upgrade from GA to VIP, because the GA seats had restricted views. We ended up sitting towards the back near the isle, we had to share a table with some nice ladies. The show was great and if you sit near the isle you will get a lot of interaction with the dancers. Drinks were just okay, they start at $15 for mixed drinks. I tried to order their specialty drink called poison Vesper, but they didn't have the ingredients to make it. Staff were great.I bought $35 worth of chips, enough for two drinks and a tip.Don't order the mules, they are all sugar. I stuck with Tito's and soda."
"What a cool venue this is. Easy to get to, plenty of parking, pretty cheap tickets. Came here for a CD release event for Eclectic Trio. The entire front row was papasan chairs. I immediately sat in one and it was like the band was playing in my living room. Full view of the band. Only issue is those chairs are so low to the ground it was a challenge for this 41 year old to get out of the chair. All the other rows were regular chairs.Cool place. Check out their website for the schedule. Most bands seem to be in the jazz category. You can bring in your own drinks and snacks as long as they are non alcoholic."
"I love this place, bro. This place is great, bro.I like music, and bro, let me tell you bro, it sounds great here, bro. Thanks bro"
"My girlfriends and I went here to celebrate a birthday. We found this place on Yelp and were so glad we gave it a try. The food was delicious, margarita was good, and service was amazing! Initially we were going to another restaurant and glad we decided to go here because wow best service we've had in a while. Our server was very welcoming and nice, always checked on us. Even other staff that walked by checked in!We went on a Friday night so there was live music. We got the halibut & shrimp ceviche, the sampler empanadas (it came with 3), and the traditional paella. They were all very good! My favorite was their empanadas! All 3 were so flavorful and the outside pastry was buttery and flakey. Delicious! Margaritas were good too!Note that if you don't like loud, maybe sit outside because indoors and in front of the music was pretty loud. I def recommend this place!"
"Saw Cash Cash here and had a great experience. I think they also had another little area with a different dj if you don't like the main one. I like the venue but the parking next door was pretty expensive. We ended up finding street parking maybe a 5 minute walk away"
"I attended a 70's bday party here and it was very nice. The place is spacious with a nice large bar and huge outdoor seating. The food appetizers were good, especially the fries. Great service everyone was kind and professional. I would give a party here."
"I came to the Grand Annex because my friend Jason Luckett was performing here. I can only speak on my experience for that day. The theater itself is a small, venue that seems to be able to seat maybe 200 people comfortably. The concert I attended was socially distanced so I couldn't give you and accurate count on seating capacity. The stage has a baby grand piano and is not very big. This venue is more of an up close and personal setting experience. I think there is a small bar to left of the stage. There is elevated seating in the back with a few table and chairs. Acoustics? The sound system was excellent. My friend plays the piano, guitar and sings. He sounded amazing. I did have difficulty with parking. That's because there was a film being shot across the street at the same time so no parking was available near the venue. Luckily, I found parking on another street not too far from Grand Annex."
"The service was excellent. The bartender was very knowledgeable and knew exactly how to make a drink based on my description of the type of liquor and flavors I like. The place has a very chill and laid-back atmosphere with a great vibe."
"Live at the Lounge is sort of right next door/attached to the Hermosa Comedy & Magic Club. It's a pretty nice music venue with a cute outdoor patio. This venue books small acts and I'm guessing mostly only acoustic since their stage area is so tiny. My friends and I were walking by during the Fiesta Hermosa festival last year and they had a small stage set up in their courtyard and the band I-94 caught our attention and we actually bought tickets to see their next show there. It's not like other venues where you can show up anytime, grab a drink and stand around it's an arrive before the show starts, sit down, order drinks, don't move and be quiet kind of place. Although I did enjoy some of the musical acts I felt the comedy acts between sets were unnecessary and didn't fit with the musical theme of the lounge.Eventhough I like I-94 and the venue in general I haven't been back to see their other performances because when I go out hear and enjoy music I don't like being forced to sit through and entire show like a punished school kid."
"This review is based primarily on the Brunch On Vinyl event Sunday. I'm not sure if it'll be every month (check the Gaslamp website) but if you're into vinyl records this is an easy place to find some records & related merch. Ample parking, no entry fee, several vendors, a DJ & the option to enjoy brunch or have a drink at the bar. After a friendly greeting from the young lady at the front desk my boyfriend & I headed to the back of the bar area. He found albums to add to his collection ranging from classic rock to the obscure presented in boxes & crates on long tables. The lighting could be a bit better but it is a bar venue after all. The brunch menu has an array of choices & going by the handful of dinners I've had here the brunch dishes are probably quite tasty (not low-priced but what is these days?) So, if you're into Bloody Mary's or Blood, Sweat & Tears you can enjoy either or both if they do this again."
"My socio and I were looking for a place to have a drink after a b'ness event at the Peterson Automotive Museum in LA. We checked the Yelp app, and spoke to the staff at Peterson's, and MM's was close: We decided to check it out. Its on Fairfax, just North of Wilshire. This is a bar w/ no food, and we were glad for that. The bartenders were super cool as we indulged in Macallan whisky and Guinness. We were celebrating my socio's bday, and were pleasantly surprised 6 whiskies and 2 Guinness came to about $100. There is a band area on the other side of the bar and we also enjoyed that aspect of the bar. MM's is much more than a dive bar.If you are in the area looking for a dive bar w/ reasonably priced drinks, and entertainment on certain nights, MM's fits the bill. In addition, the bartenders are cool and will pour you stiff drinks."
"My place to go to have a good time! The band are theeeee BESTI definitely recommend this place.Thank you for playing all the great music. You guys ROCK!"
"Good vibes here! I was a guest of the band that played on a Saturday evening in December. Although I got a ride here, there were plenty of free parking spots in the back. This Project Barley Square is a small pub located in Old Torrance. There are other locations in the South Bay.I'm not a beer drinker so I can only say that the folks around me seemed to enjoy the beverages and live classic rock music. I did get ginger ale from the bartender and she was super nice. Later in the evening, I did order a side of french fries and they were okay. They have an outdoor patio area which is great for groups. Restroom was clean. They had a Christmas tree with a Guinness hat on top. They also have their "People Love Us on yelp sticker" up.Hope to be back for more classic rock!"
"Excellent ambiance, excellent food, excellent service, fun & lively music entertainmen!"
