"So far I have really liked their asada burrito which is the only thing I've tried. I really wanted their number 26, red Chile Rojo de Res burrito but they said they were out of it. Next time I want to try their steak picado. Yummy! I really liked their green salsa, I definitely recommend it. For sure I am coming back to order more variety. I've only had their food "to-go" so I can't comment on their restaurant quality as an establishment."
"On one hand I really love the music on the beach of sealegs, sea salt, pacific kitchen etc... but I was warned about how they charge your card. BTW They don't take cash. Well sure enough because I heard the "tip" percentage they charge was way off and tonight I checked my credit card and a $15 burger was charged $18.61 with no tip on card ( Because- I put cash in the jar).... Slippery.... I really like the place, but when they do this it doesn't make me want to actually buy anything there, because apart from no cash and my credit card getting changed funky..."

"I was on my way to pick up dinner at another nearby Mexican place when I saw the long line at this taqueria, so I decided to get food here due to popular endorsement.Obviously, I did not order online ahead of time, but I didn't have to wait long. I got my food in about ten minutes, with a cabeza taco plate and two fish tacos. I drove the loot to the Kaiser Downey hospital, where my dad was hospitalized. The food filled my car with the sweet taco aroma during the drive, and even the hospital receptionist commented how good it smelled. I felt bad for her because I couldn't share any of it with her.It was a different story after I took the first bite into the tacos. It was good, but it didn't knock my socks off, and I wasn't even wearing one of those anti-slip hospital socks lined with traction pads. The rice and beans were also mediocre. I devoured them because I was hungry, not because they're particularly tasty.I learned that just because something is popular doesn't mean that it's guaranteed to be good."
"Very good restaurant, food was very delicious, service was excellent, interior ambience is also very interesting, they have parking behind the restaurant, with validation it is $10. Overall, it's good experience."
"This place is ridiculous! The food, service, and friendly conversation. I could be spokesperson for this location5 times in 8 days....working my way through the menu. This is the Paramount location where Manuel and his team are holding it down! I have no doubt they will be successful and keep the city fed! A++++ all the way around!"
"Food was amazing. The workers were super friendly and positive. We went for Lunch and Breakfast."
"I've dined here for years and seen the crowds grow and prices rise, but it's always worth it. The fish tacos are a favorite, and the spicy garlic sauce enhances everything--from salmon to crab plates."
"A friend of mine who grew up near the OG Ramona's won't stop talking about their Beef & Potato burrito, so I knew it was only a matter of time that I try it. Not a Mexican food expert by any means, but on a positive note, I can say everything was fresh and it's VERY clean in here. So, when I found myself only 13 min away from this Lakewood location, last Friday was the day for me to stop in.The "shredded beef" is SO SHREDDED, it's almost non-existent and the consistency of the potatoes almost resemble refried beans. They charge extra to add cheese, which I thought would be necessary, so for and extra $1.15 ... there you have it, an ~$11.00 burrito."
"Getting my car worked on in the area and was craving for some menudo and this place had really high review so decided to come check it out. I came on a Friday night and there were plenty of parking spots on the street. The place was relatively empty as most of their orders were to go but the service was really awesome so I'd recommend eating it there. The place is relatively small so not that great for big groups .We ordered menudo large and two carne asada tacos. They brought us out three tacos an extra pastor which I thought was an error but confirmed that they wanted us to try it. Wow praise GOD we got blessed :) the tacos were really good! And we really loved the menudos. It came with a huge amount of meat, some corn tortillas and two types of salsa but be careful with the habanero salsa! What really stood out was how clean the meat looked ;) Great service and delicious menudos!!! Will def be back soon!"
"First time coming to this establishment and Freddy the bartender gave me the best customer service! His drinks were the best!"
"I come here for their MenudoIt's a little pricey in my opinion but I just keep coming back bc It's so flavorful and delicious. I normally order it for pick up on the weekends."
"It's about time. After driving by this Newport Beach gem dozens (if not hundreds) of times I finally had the opportunity to stop by for lunch. Tidepoole is well known to both the locals and tourists of Newport Beach. Their storefront is front and center on PCH, so it's truly hard to miss. I stopped by today after attending a nearby yoga class and grabbed a bite to-go. Their menu was straight forward, with options like sandwiches, pizzas, light sides, etc. I ordered the Charlie Sammy: sourdough, pesto, artichoke, provolone, tomatoes, and arugula. I also paid extra to add chicken as protein. The meal was delicious and served with a sliced pickle. The restaurant was close to empty, but I bet it stays jam packed during the summer months. Despite the slow season, parking is still tough. You'll find street parking available in the nearby residential neighborhoods. Luckily it's a nice walk, so don't let this small hiccup keep you from visiting!"

Told by a local that if I wanted something over the top and delicious that I needed to come here and have their Super Wet burrito. It's a small place with enough room to order and wait to go for a group of 6. Eye sight directly into the kitchen so you can see them make you your order. Let me just say this burrito was bigger than I expected. I unfortunately didn't take a pic of my food but it was filled with the works. Over all it was good the cashier was a bit rude but I'm sure it was a long day

I came here with a friend for Taco Tuesday. We ordered the taco box with 10 tacos, chips and green + red salsa. At first glance, the box reminded me of Tito's. The flavor...not so much. I like the fresh and crunchy taco shells. I am mostly pescatarian and was bummed that they didn't have a potato or vegetarian taco option. The chicken tacos were just okay. There wasn't much flavor. My friend had the carnitas and asada tacos but ate one chicken. He said next time he'll get all chicken. The chips were very good. Both salsas were okay. I prefer more chunks and less liquifying. Seating is outdoors so ordering g to go is the main option. The jury is still out on whether the food is worthy of the prices.

If you want to go to a good karaoke bar in the area and have mediocre Mexican food, this is the place for you. Pancho's is located next to the beach, surrounded by a few other restaurants. We didn't have to make a reservation and just walked in. The wait was about 25 minutes before they sat us. Little to our surprise, the restaurant was bigger than we thought. When we first walked in, we thought it was just the bar and then a small dining area. It's actually bigger.I loved the decor. Foliage everywhere. However, they still had Valentine's Day balloons up and it was a bit cringy. All I have to say is that their prices are ridiculous for mediocre Mexican food. I ordered a crab and shrimp quesadilla and it was $28 worth of cheese. I also ordered taquitos and paying $20 for it wasn't worth it either. Two items and a horchata totaled to $61!Are you serious? The service was okay. Our waiter made sure our glasses of water was never empty. And at least the waiters were dressed nice and professional. The downside, I noticed that they gave other customers a bag to put their to-go containers in. Not us. This was a never eating here again moment. Overpriced Mexican Food. I'm from The Bay, San Francisco Mission District to be exact and this mexican spot WASN'T IT! So disappointing. However, I might return for Karaoke night though. I loved the vibe.3 stars for good horchata.

In the area on a Sunday evening and I placed an order to check out Fatima grill. I enjoyed the meal and the portion was enough to have lunch for tomorrow. Service was friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning!

A local gem that offers a large selection of diner-style food items. Our family has been coming here for 20+ years and I was excited to come back to get the chili cheese fries and onion rings. The interior of the location is much nicer with a clear visible menu display about the register. We ordered our usuals for Togo and although the food came out promptly we found that the quality of the food we were used to having for years seemed off tonight. I did see in other reviews that the location is under new management and perhaps that might be the reason but just felt like the food didn't hit the spot like usual.

Just like old school! On a visit to CA this place was by my hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it's still good food like it was when as a child and young adult I used to go to the one on Western. Great customer service food was good and the line wasn't even long!

"This place is a staple of Long Beach. Such a great little place. The food is great and really reasonably priced."
"We found our new Mexican spot!We live fairly close to this place but Yelp brought us here. The Hubby was looking for chilaquiles. He ordered them with shredded beef & green sauce, although he loves HOT he likes to control it. The green was nice & spicy, maybe a little too spicy but nothing either of us can control. I ordered chicken fajitas & OMG I enjoyed every bite of them! Great quality of meat & lots of it!They also have a salsa bar with lots of choices to everyone's taste."
"I love this place. Cash only but has an atm on premises. Food is delicious and judging by how busy it gets I'm not the only one that thinks so. They even have some menudo that I loved as well. The tripe is nice and soft and the jugo (juice) is flavorful. They also serve beer and who doesn't like a torta ahogada and a nice cold beer? Do yourself a favor and come here. Also if you don't want to use the atm they have literally 100 yards up the street is a b of a."
"I'm not going to lie I was a little uneasy about ordering lunch from here being that it has very low stars and bad reviews. Boy was I glad I did. I order lunch for my office every Friday's. So, we alternate restaurants. This place definitely made my rotation. Everyone here loved what they got. Big portions and good quality food, why their prices are a little higher. I ordered the camarones rancheros. It came with rice and beans. I'm picky when it comes to my rice and beans and they did not disappoint. They give you a fair amount of shrimp that's mixed in a tomato sauce with veggies. So flavoursome. I really enjoyed my meal. When it comes to chips and salsa let's just say it's hard to please me. Wowzers! That salsa was bomb. It has a kick, but I loved it. The chips tasted fresh and were lightly salted. Multiple people loved this combo. We ordered delivery. It was a nice and simple process. Our food was early. Overall, great experience. I highly recommend and I'm sure my staff can't wait until the next time."
"Service good. Ambiance good it's just as regularly normally is. Clean area as always. This is my gripe. , ; (This restaurant has lost their mind I know we have corporations raising food prices left and right but El Pollo Loco really why did you go this far chicken is not that expensive are you really that greedy. This was one of my favorite go to spots when I didn't want to cook and that tradition is done forever with this restaurant. I'm no hater but this is wrong all money isn't good money corporate greed will do in good restaurants with good names and customers loyalty behind them. I ordered a 2 piece leg and thigh meal two small sides they're pushing it calling them small sides they're tiny it's absolutely ridiculous look at the pictures I took. $9.99 for this GTFOH. BRC Was laughable it was soo tiny it fits in the palm of my hands $3.40 get outta here. I ordered two extra legs at another location because I was like there's no fn way they're small and they are extra small too. LmaoAnyway that's it buy this chicken at your own risk because it's tiny this gals going back old school and buying a whole chicken marinating that bad boy and roasting it at home. Peace out for life. Just me Shawn C."
"Fui a comer aquí con mi familia el sábado Ya q mi hermano siempre viene aquí Me invito a comer para celebrar mi cumpleaños.Yo ordene ostiones, camarones costa azul y tacos gobernador de camarón. todo deliciosoY las micheladas que no falten La mesera bien buena gente y siempre al pendiente de nuestra mesa Muchas gracias nos vemos pronto"
"Found Olmeca on several best tamales of LA lists (e.g., Thrillist, Eater LA) - it's a pop-up (IG @olmeca.__. I pre-ordered some tamales and picked them up at Holy Grounds in El Sereno. The tamales were 6 for $40 ($7 for one) with a choice of three kinds. I wish the mole ones were offered but I'll have to get them another time. Duck mole tamales! The tamales were moist and soft (but not mushy). The layer of masa was thin and there was plenty of well-seasoned meat. The meat wasn't dry either. And the tamales came with various toppings (cheese, salsa, crema). You could tell that the tamales were made with love. They're also free of pork lard. The woman behind the pop-up, Yunia Fumes Mata, works at Bestia, one of the best restaurants in LA."
"After watching some of my fave South Bay YouTubers/fellow Yelper Lisa L. go to Diana's Mexican Food; I knew I had to check this place out.I definitely have to say even though I saw a video of this place on YouTube; I was surprised at all the abundant different offerings they have here. It's almost like a mini market that offers tortilla, Mexican bread, masa and more. On their menu is breakfast offerings like Breakfast Burritos, Chilaquiles and Omelettes. For lunch they offer affordable lunch specials at $8.95 that include rice and beans. They also have soups such as Menudo and Albondigas They even offer different coffee drinks. My mom and I both got lunch specials. My mom got the Chicken Tamale while I got the Shredded Beef Taco. The Chicken Tamale was smothered in red sauce. The Shredded Beef Taco was crisp with a fair amount of tender beef. For $8.95; I thought the lunch specials were well worth the price. We also got a large soup of Albondigas. This was a little under $12. The large comes with five Albondigas meatballs. I enjoyed the soup. I thought the broth had good flavor and was not salty. The meatballs were also meaty.Last of all; I saw some day old bread for a $1. There were three pieces inside which I thought was a great deal. I was surprised however when it rang for a $1.50. It was still a good deal but not quite the $1 they advertised. Diana's is a decent place for good deals of delicious Mexican food."
"I heard about Leo's from numerous people and was delighted at the service and food. A great menu and inviting place. Super casual but excellent friendly service. I can see why it's a local favorite.I had the taco salad and my friend ordered a birreria taco, carne asada fries AND a burrito. My salad was great. Fresh fresh fresh! The birreria meat was fantastic. Took a few fries and was delighted! I'll be back!"
"Ordered Uber eats for steak, bistec and grilled fish salad. The pescado asado fried fish salad was amazing but the steak was just rubbery and inedible."
"So weird how tacos are so good they get their own day. The other day I heard somebody say something so beautiful to a broken girl. She claimed I'm broken! He replied tacos break all the time and they're freaking awesome doesn't stop people from loving them !Ha ! Definitely good spot I am coming back for the gorditas! It seems like they changed it up a bit . Maybe new decor. Service is great. Try the coconut flan Five stars #TacoTuesday."
"I'm giving it 5 stars in the basis of one of the best Chile relleno burritos I've had in years, and the fact that it is almost impossible to get it to come up in a search on yelp, hope a review helps and the rest on the menu is as good as the burrito. They are in the former Delicias San Pedro location and slowly changing the name. I can't wait to go back and try the chilaquiles and michoacan carnitas"
"Tried this spot a while back after hearing they had authentic Mexico City tacos (June 2021). I was super disappointed after having them back then. They were dry and the tortillas tasted like they needed more cooking. The avocado was a nice touch, but didn't make up for it. It also took forever to get them even though they didn't appear to be too busy. I remember the person taking my order wasn't the friendliest either. Back then they had close to 870 followers on Instagram. I vowed never to go back.Fast forward to December 2023 and I see some delicious looking quesadillas on my Instagram feed. I took down their address (didn't recognize it) and drove on over. Low and behold, it's them. I busted a u-turn and went back home. Today, I was looking through Instagram again and they popped up because Brian Addison, who I follow, liked one of their pictures/reels. I trust the guy with food so I decided to give them another chance... so glad I did! This time, I ordered a quesadilla de asada. I was hoping to get their flautas in a cup, but the person taking my order said they ran out (around 4pm on a Sunday), so I settled for the taquitos dorados (two chicken and one potato). The quesadilla was absolutely delicious. A 10/10 and a must have. The potato taco dorado was a 9/10 and the chicken taco dorado was a 6/10 (chicken was a bit dry). They provided curtido (fermented cabbage) which was cool, so I added some of that to the chicken taco dorado. It made up for the dryness a bit. I made sure to order ahead this time. Looking at the reviews, it doesn't look like that's improved. I got there 20 minutes after placing it and it was ready to go. They didn't skimp out on salsa, which is always appreciated. This time around, the person at the register was much friendlier than the person that helped me out a couple of years ago, so that's another improvement. Looking forward to coming back for another quesadilla and trying some other items out. LBfoodcoma (on IG) recently featured their tamales and they look delicious, so I'll have to give them a shot. They are now up to over 5,000 followers on IG. Wishing them continued success!"
"Came in to try their Guac Ceviche, absolute fire! It's a cute corner restaurant in HP that has lots of Mexican culture within it. Service was also amazing! I'll be back on Friday nights to checkout the Mariachi vibes, can't wait!"
"If you're a foodie, please check out Nehemia's. There are a couple of reasonably priced restaurants in California that remind me of the awesome food in Mexico City and Nehemia's is one of them. The mole tamales our simply outstanding. I enjoyed every tamale I've tried here and I've tried most of them. I don't usually like sweet tamales and was sure that I wouldn't care for the strawberry tamales, but I was curious. They're delicious! The prices are reasonable. Oustanding value.I've driven by this place many times, but the name made me think the food was Mexican-American. The food doesn't cater to a US palate. It's legit. The owners are a couple who are Honduran and Mexican. I tend to prefer food from southern Mexico, compared to northern Mexico, and this food reminds me of southern Mexican cuisine."
"Service is great. Owner is a complete sweetheart. Food is amazing. Great portions and great quality of food. This has been a Carson gem for a long time. We keeping coming back. Burritos are my family's favorite"
"If you go, go for the chorizo - it's burned just enough on the bottom and has a strong, balanced spice profile. The carnitas are good too - nice and juicy. I could have skipped the lengua and birria. My carrot juice tasted like celery. Normally this would have been a total dealbreaker, but I feel like I may be beginning to feel the effects of starting to be able to tolerate celery after 32 years of hating it. And if that's the case, thanks El Cabrito, I guess!"
"Food is always delicious! I love their super tostada salad and everything else I've tried there. A bit on the pricy side."
"Like a well-oiled machine, Tacos Gavilan is (Yoda-speak)https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Yer8HvISsI3DGMlGA2e7hw&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Looking quite familiar to a In-N-Out with about double the interior seating, I counted no less than 10 workers manning the assembly line behind the counter. Taco Gavilan's salsa bar is almost entirely prepackaged, save for the free beans & cooked onions/jalapenos. Keeping things sanitary, it makes to-go orders quick, although when dining in, it's a pain in the arse trying to open every single packet. A pretty straight forward menu board to peruse from, I love my offal, so I went with the lengua plate.https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=o9oXrwqJDMHgQxJ7JEhY7w&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Rice, beans, salad, cheese, guacamole, meat & choice of corn or wheat tortillas. A liberal amount of diced lengua, I enjoyed Tacos Gavilan's lengua plate. Less than $10, a hefty amount of food is what I received. Plus, I took advantage of the free beans & cooked onions/jalapenos. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select_video=KkZ6WI5ZqilX-UXv2cx_oA&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Service was good. The seating is expansive. Also, the inside was clean throughout. Plenty of staff on hand, wait for food is minimal, which, I assume, would include the drive-thru. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=KS-85YbUToKGjwXGNliUxQ&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Imagine a Del Taco/Taco Bell amalgamated with a local taqueria, and that's the best way I can describe Tacos Gavilan. Fast, but good food! I wasn't expecting much, but Tacos Gavilan charmed me with inexpensive but authentic food, in a clean atmosphere akin to an In-N-Out. I'm looking forward to coming back & exploring the rest of the menu."
"My parents & aunt from SD visited me, & my Filipino family were in a good mood for some Mexican cuisine. Since I decided to give a rarely Yelped restaurant a try, this was where we headed to. I'll have to admit; yea it's in Hawaiian Gardens, but as much as I hate using this adjective, the plaza, at least, looked pretty pretentious.Yep, I saw disorganized plastic utensils (some w/ a few specks =/), a carelessly maintained (but not grossly) salsa bar, B grade, & no accessible napkins!? I was apprehensive bringing my family here *___*, but hey: we're here solely on the food! And this was what we ordered: Asada Burrito ($6...& the menu listed $4.75--oh well, I didn't pay for this =P), [Pollo] Taquitos Dorados ($4.75), side of Spanish Rice ($1), & my Asada Taco & Lengua Taco ($1.50 each).I'll start w/ my food: I did like how I got both tacos not drenched in oil. Sadly, the Asada alone tasted pretty vapid, & thus I heavily depended on the salsas. Fortunately, the Lengua was quite buttery in the tongue (no pun intended). Still, in terms of flavor, the Lengua didn't hit the spot, i.e., it can't beat the one in Taco Boy. Moreover, the darkly red salsa was surprisingly not jalapeno-leveled spicy--heh, I assumed it would be, compared to its lightly colored, meek "cousin"--but at least it gave effort eventually leaving a little tingle on my lips. And my mom left me one taquito, & not only the chicken tasted way too safe, but I disliked how it's crisp in the middle but close-to-burnt crunchy on the edges, along w/ overcooked chicken tips--to me that's a turn-off w/ taquitos. My dad's burrito was shockingly smaller than how much it's worth; but my dad didn't really care if it tasted outstanding or not =/. And I wished I sampled the Spanish Rice before my aunt totally adulterated the side w/ a packet of salt--not kidding..Without the extremely nice service, especially when the lady genuinely apologized for mistakenly writing the order of 3 burritos instead of 1 that she gladly refunded us cash--thank God my dad paid our lunch w/ the greens--I could've bashed this eatery 2 stars. Ooh, & one more reason I give this place 3: so far, I've indulged the best $2 Venti-sized, scratch-made Horchata EVER: perfect milk-water ratio, right amount of ice & coldness, & exquisitely fine hint of cinnamon. Ahh, que rica =)."
"Food overall was okay. Filet Mignon tasted better than Asada. The Shredded Beef taquitos appetizer is very good. Guacamole not impressed. Ceviche way over priced $25 for 3 very small portions. Tacos were okay, tortillas were way too greasy. Transferred to flour tortillas. The green salsa is very good and tasty!Ambiance for Sat night after 5pm was great. Super busy for small place and great music and choice of music. The bar was full and no empty space.Service was decent. Did not clear plates enough especially for very small tables. Reservation for sisters bday of 8 people and they awkwardly place one square and one round table together. Not convenient, or logical."
"We have been here numerous times and have taken friends and family. Each time it has been a great dining experience with delicious food in a beautiful space. Last night was no different. It was a very busy Saturday night and we had to make reservations. We waited just a bit but that was to be expected because the place was buzzing. Our family was served by Natalie and she was fantastic. Her presence made it a memorable dinner. It really shows how excellent service can make or break a dining experience no matter how delicious the food. She was on top of it even with how busy the restaurant was. Our water was topped, our chips and dips were switched when low, she checked in at the right times to make sure we had everything we needed but wasn't overbearing. The food was excellent and she brought out plenty of boxes for leftovers along with items to bag up chips and dip. I haven't had such great service in a while and this was comparable if not exceeded nicer restaurants like The Ritz. We walked away impressed and very happy with our meal. The food (amazing every single time) and ambience (a variety of seating styles that are all very comfortable and stylish) is always great here, but the service definitely made this meal. Thanks to Natalie and the wonderful staff for always making it so we are looking forward to coming back."
"Note: Cash only Went here on a Friday morning before 7am to pickup burritos for work. I called the number for 2 days and couldn't get through to anyone. Luckily, at 6:15am, they answered, so I didn't have to wait for my order there. Apparently, they answer sometimes and no idea why the number doesn't work at all at other times. Got 22 oso burritos. Most with the beans/salsa on the side. Everything came out just like I asked. The burritos were good, but the beans/salsa on the side were just ok. They aren't consistent. Sometimes it's spicy. Sometimes it's not. Sometimes the meat is tough. Sometimes the meat is softer. Sometimes it's a mixture of both. Overall, I'd give the oso burrito a 4/5. Also, they're $12 flat for each"
