"I feel like a little trip to India when dining here. Good vibe with great view of the harbor tooHighlights of the menu:1. Lassi traditional Indian mango2. Vegetable Thali set: fermented spinach, mountain style black lentil, mustered green, mixed veg curry rice, pickle, papad, yogurt, salad3. Indian bread nan - all cooked in clay oven4. Chicken tikka masala"
"In my head, I really thought I could eat all that by myself. Indian food is definitely a group project. Keep in mind It's probably not the healthiest idea to eat a whole Indian meal alone. I love Indian food leftovers five stars."

"Delicious Indian dishes on 2nd Street. Very quaint little place with some outdoor seating. I love the lighting inside. I would say it's a great date spot, but also a cool place to meet with friends and family. There are literally 143 menu items! It was tough to pick just one, but I went with the Jeera Aloo. My friend chose the Aloo Gobi. Both were perfectly flavored. We picked mild for our spicy level, which had just the right amount for us. There were some street food options too, so we ordered the Bhel Puri in that section, and it was so good! There was a very holiday tasting spice in that one. It was a perfect plate for the season. I definitely recommend!"
"This place slaps!!! Excellent food for excellent prices. I typically opt for the 3 item combo plate (because why not it's already such a good deal). Highly recommend the goat curry, and either the chicken curry, butter chicken, or chicken tikka. I like the goat curry the best as it has a deeper flavor than the others.I've gotten the samosas here before, but I think they're just ok.They have a few tables and chairs inside if you wanted to sit down and eat. Parking is a huge hassle in the area, if you're lucky maybe the nearby streets will have a spot, but normally my husband and I come together, and I hop out to grab our orders and leave."
"I came here to celebrate Lunar New Year after a recommendation from my coworkers and wow they did not disappoint!Their happy hour is a generous time of 5-7pm Monday- Thursday. We made a reservation on open table but we didn't need a reservation on a Wednesday around 6:30pm. They get really busy around 7pm.We got served by the owner and she gave us the background of the restaurant and how their recipes are based on a celebrity chef back in India. The appetizers are a decent size- we LOVED the crispy cauliflower and it had a kick. The chili paneer was good too (and on the happy hour menu). They have so many curries to choose from whether you like meat or veggies. At the end of our meal, the owner insisted we couldn't finish our Lunar New Year meal without a dessert so she sent one out on the house and even wrote Happy New Year on it! What a nice touch. 10/10 will be coming back for the good food and even better hospitality."
"Delicious food! The woman helping us offered us several samples of the curries they had. We selected the cauliflower, spinach, and tikki masala to try. All were delicious and we had plenty leftovers. Garlic naan was also warm and tasty. I tried the mango yogurt drink which was good, but I wish it was just served a bit colder. Overall this is a great place for a quick stop quality dinner. Will come again!"
"Bumping up my star level, because this really has become my very favorite place for Indian food. I've returned a handful of times since my review in 2019 and it still is as good as ever. The price has increased, so it's no longer the deal it once was but you still get a lot of food. My favorites have been the potato, mixed veg, blackeyed pea curries. I also love the breads, roti and pani puri that they offer. The bhajiya fritters are also always quite good. The service is still good, always asking if I want more of something or there to refill my water, but it does seem like they are doing this in attempt rush me out of there."
"Kamal Palace is located in the LB Marina area and just re-opened after a lengthy renovation. Long Beach has some great Indian options, but most of them are takeout spots. Kamal Palace certainly stands out as a dine-in option with a massive menu. Nevertheless, I ordered my food a la carte, to go. I was a little disappointed as my garlic naan was not included in my order and I really was looking forward to the chewy, garlicky, hot flatbread with my curry. It wasn't meant to be at this time.A lot of people like chicken tikka masala (which happens to be the national dish of the UK), but I'd recommend for you to go for the murgh makhni: it's similar, but has butter, more spice, and more flavor. I get it spicy, so it punches me in the lips and tongue with heat, creaminess, and spice, but it also has the delicious tandoori chicken mixed in. What's not to like about this curry made with abundant spices, butter, yogurt, tomato, and grilled chicken?I also ordered their "mixed appetizer" dish, which was filled with a delightful mix of fried apps including veggie samosa, chicken/veggie pakora, and seekh kabab. It tastes great with their sour/tangy tamarind chutney and their sweet mint chutneys. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and I'd recommend it."
"Nikki's always hits the spot! I don't even bother trying to find new Indian food restaurants because this IS the SPOT! Never disappoints and the service is always amazing and friendly"
"When we walked in, there was a line to order. It goes by pretty quickly. And the place can get crowded fast! However, there are tables outside too. The dahi sev puri was so delicious and flavorful! I wish I ordered another round of it. Masala dosa was pretty standard, good nonetheless. The Surati taco was interesting. I ate it all bc I was hungry lol but it was a bit too sweet. I wouldn't order this again. Mango lassi supreme was yum."
"My go to when i am craving Indian food! Good food and good service. A lowkey restaurant tucked away in a shopping center down 2nd street with easy access and convenient parking. The parking lot itself has small spaces but there is also plenty of street parking. I usually get the chicken tiki masala - good portion size for the price. It's just enough food to feel satisfied and not have to take any leftovers home (it's that good). I can finish an entire order in one sitting lol. The garlic nan goes perfectly with it.Friendly service (when it's the younger lady helping out). Theres also another server who isnt always the nicest and can be short. Comfy ambiance, nothing fancy, but the food doesn't miss. Check them out!"
"The service was okay, not nice but gets the job done. The place is pretty crowded and the area for sugar and such hasn't been cleaned in a while. The chai was honestly not even chai, like flavored milk. Please don't get it, no amount of sugar helps it. The sweets are okay but the experience is very overwhelming."

My weekly lunch buddy and Ilanded here this lunchtime. I had noticed it in Peter's Landing on my way up to Seal Beach. I was intrigued by the name and when I mentioned it to JP he said "it is one of our favorites ".I love the location, right in the Marina, looking out on the moored pleasure craft. The restaurant itself is light and bright and high-ceilings. The menu was fairly typical for South Asian food, and I was looking forward to having my sinuses cleaned out by powerful curries and spice. The waiter was very pleasant and helpful and we selected the lamb curry for me, and the beef for JP.The platters were visually beautiful, but totally lacking in heat or spice. The lamb was delicious and perfectly stewed but I tasted no curry at all.I am still giving this restaurant 5 stars. The view, the service, the ambiance, the beauty of the presentation. It is not as though there are plenty of actual Himalayans looking for the taste of their homeland to keep the shop afloat, when most of their customers in Sunset Beach are plenty white!

Quickly seated at a clean table, restaurant is simply decorated. Water given right away with options of a hand held menu as well as a QR code. The service was average but since it was just the one guy on the floor doing everything, expediting, register..he did good. Each dish came with a flavor filled bowl of jasmine rice. We ordered the samosas which were on the greasy side but not overly so. The chutney accompanying them was refreshing and delicious. Garlic naan was really good too. We ordered saag paneer, tiki masala, curry chicken, butter chicken and chicken biriyani. Everyone enjoyed everything. Even my eight year old who has become a less adventurous eater filled and cleaned her plate. I must say that the butter chicken and biryani were my personal favorite. If you are in the area, don't hesitate to try them out for some delicious Indian cuisine.

Just tried this place, and it was really good! The food was really good and you can pick the level of heat you prefer. The service was excellent and the staff (I think were the owners) were so nice and definitely helpful. It's cute and quaint, and has street parking. They also offer a buffet on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11-3, which I'm looking forward to trying.

This is easily my go-to spot for chicken tikka masala, biriyani, and veggie samosas! The flavors pack a punch and it hits the spot every time. I can't say much about the rest of the menu but you can't go wrong with these staple items. Bonus points - everything is reasonably priced!

So thankful to the staff who let us in despite it being 10 minutes left before kitchen closing time in the afternoon (before reopening for dinner service). The service was extra quick yet still courteous. We made sure to tip well (we felt bad for cutting into the staff's lunch time...). Aside from that, their food was the most delicous Indian food I've had! I got the Puran chicken curry with rice and chili garlic naan. The Naan was sooo addicting. The spices in the food made everything so tasty that it's hard to stop eating until you're really full. I'd love to come back again!

What a find! This place has been on my radar for awhile, and I'm glad I finally had a chance to stop by.Let's start with the service. I have a hunch the friendliest people on Earth work here. I told them it was my first time there. (They probably already knew; it seems they know all their customers well!). They happily offer samples of the various entrees for those unsure of what to choose. The food? Delicious doesn't begin to describe it! I asked for their spiciest item, and they recommended Black Pepper Chicken. This had some spice, along with a lot of flavor. I chose an Indian standard, Chicken Tandoori, as a second item. Rice and naan bread come with the combos; I paid a little extra for the upgrade to garlic naan. The place is sparkling clean, with a very pleasant atmosphere. The place is an absolute haven in an otherwise standard strip mall.I highly recommend, and can't wait for my next visit!

I think Kamal Palace is more known for their lunch buffet and being one of few Indian buffet options in Long Beach. Sure, Artesia isn't that much further from here so you could just hop there and go find multiple options, but sometimes I don't want to deal with figuring out where to go there and parking. Kamal Palace is easy to get to and easy to park.So we decided to actually eat ala carte because the SO and I were just craving Indian. We started with their Tofu Pakora, which was absolutely fantastic due to them using chickpea flour to fry it in, vs regular flour. This was a very smart idea and the whole thing was just a delight. We then ordered 3 entrees: Bhindi Masala, Garlic Sizzler Manchurian Veg, and Tofu Masala. The sizzler dish, to me, seemed like veggie pakora in a sauce. It was good, don't get me wrong, but it didn't quite hit like I thought it would. The tofu matar was solid and these guys really know how to cook tofu well. Most places that do tofu well understand that tofu needs to be able to absorb the flavors it's mixed with to really stand out. For me, the bhindi masala was amazing. At a different Indian spot in Torrance (I think it's Bombay Tandoori in Torrance off PCH, in a Best Western hotel I think), that was the first time I've had okra indian-style (there it was bhindi bharata) and I've been hooked. I think okra is a highly underrated vegetable and Kamal Palace did a fantastic job with it.I really want to say, just go here for the ala carte. It's quality is better than the buffet. It may not be as good of a "value" but the quality of their ala carte is solid.

"This place is sooo good! I grew up eating South Indian dishes even though I'm Punjabi and it's so hard to find a place that has flavorful dosas but this place hits out of the park. Even the chana batura is soo good and it's HUGE. we were able to share one dosa with 2 people and all 4 of us shared the Chana batura. The service is so quick and great. Sometimes this place can be fairly busy so just be quick to come in and grab a seat. It's lovely indoors since a lot of families are enjoying all varieties of food and it's perfect after a day of shopping."
"My favorite go-to spot for Indian food! I've been here about three times, and it never disappoints. This time, I ordered the samosas, butter chicken, and pita bread. Everything was fresh, hot, and very tasty. The ambiance was well-lit with music playing in the background at a good volume--not overly crowded. I really enjoyed the place and definitely recommend it! Waiters were very friendly, informative and attentive great customer service!"
"I like Indian food and this restaurant is really good. I went there with friends and it was very nice. The service was good"
"The food at Curry Lounge is so tasty. Parking is always easy to find and the people who work hear are always friendly. The dining room is fun and they serve food in unique metal plates. Love their extensive menu! I can't wait to come back to try something new."
"If you are Punjabi and craving a good paratha on a Sunday morning, just come here have some cha or lassi and it will hit the spot! Huge portions served with yogurt and achar, though I also needed some mint chutney. They also go beyond just aloo and paneer, with gobi and even mooli!! It was so nice to just eat parathas that reminded me of home, and the uncles working there are all so nice. Very dhaba style, but exactly what I needed being away from home."
"Come on a normal day. Skip it for Mother's/Father's Day or big party. If you come on Mother's or Father's Day or when theres a big party. You will be ignored!"
"We had a great experience ordering food for take out from Orange Curry. We went into the shop not knowing much and taking up a lot of their time trying to decide what to order. They never tried to rush us and were super accommodating and polite, offering us samples from the steam table. We ordered many different items: aloo gobi (cauliflower potato), palak paneer (spinach cheese), chicken tikka masala, daal (lentils), goat curry, rice, naan. Everything tasted really good! Some a little more spicy (palak paneer) than others but not bad really and a mild/medium on the spice scale. Pro tip: add sour cream or plain yogurt and it pairs so well while toning down the spice.Orange Curry is a great way to try Indian food if you're new to it since they offer samples. It's also great for take out since the portions are huge! and there's limited seating (3 tables). Mango Lassi (mango yogurt smoothie) is so good. Super filling so share with another person of you won't be able to eat your dinner!"
"Excellent food. Very homely ambiance and simple menu. Seevice is quick and straightforward. This is the no-nonsense Indian restaurant that serves authentic Indian food that you'd expect to get at someone's home cooked by their mom. Very comforting. Undhiyu was amazing. This is something you don't find in any other Indian restaurant across SoCal. Must vist."
"Absolutely love this place! Ravish is a wonderful host and made sure we had an enjoyable experience with the kids. We had goat, lamb chicken, we tried it all! Even the bread is so good! We ate too much and will be taking the rest home but have already recommended it to friends. When you're here, just go with the recommendations:) you'd be surprised"
"This is the kind of place that is very special. It seems to be small, but the menu is incredibly large. The food is made so careful and so well here you would be stupid not to come in. It is a wonderful place!I had the chicken tikka marsala but don't be silly. You must have the appetizer non-bread. It is a perfect accoutrement again. This food is being very specifically and very carefully you cannot get food made this well for this price..I enjoyed my food a lot. I consider myself very lucky but another thing you have to try when you come here is the mango lassi. It's been so delicious Lee well did you want more than one? They are very technology friendly as well. They will offer you a business card or all you have to do is click on the QR tag and you will get the full menu. I absolutely loved it here like I said the rice is prepared so perfectly it absorbs the flavor. I believe this is the kind of restaurant that you want to come to at least three times a week. If you are a family and you have a lot of people the menu is perfect. !Yum yum is all I feel!!!"
"Called to check if there was outdoor seating on a weekend, they said yes. There may have been some language issues.Showed up for nihari buffet night on Wednesday and they said no outside seating. Didn't seem very busy inside and there's stone tables outside, but ok left without eating."
"A great local option for Indian food in our area, Masala Curry is a hidden gem that is consistently delicious. For starters, we frequently order food here via DoorDash -- their fish tikka masala is SO good and is one of my favorites! I believe it's only available as an entree on their dinner menu.It wasn't until recently that we started going to their location in-person for their lunch buffet. For what you pay, you get an excellent assortment of different appetizers, curries, veggies, and a couple desserts. After a couple plates I'm usually so full and satisfied! The garlic naan is always super flavorful, fresh and delicious. The inside of the restaurant is clean and the walls are decorated with interesting famous quotes -- a very charming place. Their workers are always very quick to serve us and are easy to flag down when we need something. Highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back!"
"The taco Tuesday special is a great deal, $5.99 for a trio of delicious tacos. We got a trio of paneer tikka tacos and a trio of saag paneer tacos (you can't mix'n'match, it has to be three of a kind to get the special price) to go and they were awesome! Hubby and I had leftovers. We also dined in and ordered a variety of items. It came to $70 for three without a lot of leftovers so this wasn't an awesome deal like the special was, but we did have some leftovers to take home and it was very tasty. I especially liked the Indian Protein Bread, it was hot and soft and flexible and yet held together well enough to use to pick up other food. The maharaja burrito was good. I wish they had a better selection of beverages on the menu (no regular chai tea?)"
"BEST Indian food I've had in CaliforniaIt says this location is closed, but I went in April and it was open! GARLIC CHILI NAAN: holy never had naan so crispy and seasoned. The chili isn't very spicy and it's more of a green pepper sort of deal. I loooooved their naan Curries: I tried their butter chicken and chicken tikka and they were SOOO flavorful. I'm not much of a curry connoisseur, but I could tell that this place's curries were definitely very rich and savory. You do have to order rice on the side separately. I would say 1 order would be good for 2-3 people on average? Chicken tandoori: wowowow I usually don't like this as much, but the meat fell off the bone and it was so juicy. It was a hit for usMango lassi: yogurt/mango drink that can never do you wrongParking: free small parking lot in the back, there's also some metered street parking and a paid lot nearbyWait: came on a Tuesday around 3pm so no wait. A few tables inside. The restaurant wasn't too small or very large Indian food will never be the same.. I will def come back for this"
"Recently visited restaurant. I loved it. The food was delicious, the ambiance was great, and the service was very good. Would love to go by again. I don't live too far. Would definitely recommend."
"Ambiance and Decor - 5Service - 4Food - 3Value - 2I'm torn on Shor. It's a beautiful restaurant and very fitting for a nice night out. But we tried calling and they didn't pick up the phone at first and wouldn't take reservation. Most mains are fairly priced, maybe a couple of dollars over an average Indian restaurant but some items on the menu seemed pricey. A soda was $5, but a craft soda was $10. Spirit Free Cocktails are $15 (no alcohol). Limca (bottle soda) - This was really flat with no carbonation. It's like a cross between Squirt and 7 Up in taste. I would not get this again.Dahi Puri - I haven't had this dish before at other places so I won't compare it. It came in a crispy edible cup that had a plop of yogurt with tamirand, chutney, cumin seeds and spiced potatoes. There was a lot going on here and it was balanced. Fun to eat but can be messy if you bite at the wrong angle and the yogurt starts flowing out. Handle it, you can do this!Mantu - This was a dumpling/rice paper roll dish that had spicy ground beef in the middle. The dish tasted good, but nothing that necessarily distinguished itself as must get. Goat Cheese Kulcha - Loved this one. Naan that has goat cheese inside, grilled with parmesan cheese on the outside all with some truffle oil and butter sauce. A sinful cheese pie. Garlic Naan - It is a thicker naan served whole and uncut. Cooked perfectly, crispy and chewy. Could use a little more garlic oil sauce on it. More garlic please!Chicken Tikka Masala - The sauce base on this was rich and slightly creamy with good spiciness. The chicken in this dish was dry and probably overcooked. This is something that can be easily fixed to make this a very good dish.Paper Dosa ($16, add masala potato +4) - Full size large dosa was cooked right, crispy but not burnt. I love dosas and this one was good, but most places charge about $12-$15 for this dish with the curry potato filling. Here that will set you back $20. Friends in my party ordered other dishes but I didn't get to try them all. The food quality is fresh and good and presentation is great, but does not differentiate itself enough taste wise for me to point people here as a destination restaurant over your local favorite Indian sit down place. If you want a great ambiance and are in the area, give Shor a try. Do also know that they automatically add 20% service charge to your bill so no need to add extra tip unless you want to."
"Arrived here solo for a to-go meal because I was craving some Mediterranean food on a Friday night. Decided to get the Chicken and Beef Kebab plate and was a little disappointed in the meal. The plate came with one chicken kebab, one beef kebab, rice, and some salad. I thought the salad would be something better but it was just a plain ole salad you can buy from the store... pricing for this plate was not the best about $15 before tip. Other than that flavor of the meat was decent but would probably not come back if I wanted Mediterranean food again."
"Review is for takeout only. The mixed reviews almost turned us away but my husband decided to take a gamble and we got takeout. To our surprise, this is one of the best South Indian food we've had in SoCal!First off, they have kottu paratha which is incredible! First restaurant here in SoCal that had that dish. The fish fry, mutton and paratha are all very good. From reading the reviews it seems like people like the food but the service is terrible so we're ok just ordering takeout for the foreseeable future."
"My second time here in 2 weeks. It's probably the best Indian restaurant I've been to. We ordered:Biryani with spicy chickenHaleemHara Korhimiri chicken tikkaChicken 65Every dish was incredibly good with perfect amount of spice. It was a hot day so the strong air conditioning was appreciated. The only negative thing: We paid 15% tip but the worker asked us to bus our own table at the end. Very strange but this seems to be standard practice at Indian restaurants in this area. Next time, I'll skip the tip and bus my own table."
"It was a quiet Friday night when I stopped in around 8pm on my way home. Fortunately, it meant getting my takeout order pretty quickly. I tried their butter chicken (spicy 4-mild( and the garlic naan. As well as an order of their samosas (2 to an order). Everything is delicious! One of the best samosas I've e joyed. So much flavor. The butter chicken had a rich creaminess, but did not feel too rich. I enjoyed it with the rice. Generous serving sizes so I enjoyed it for a few meals. I also received their complimentary rice pudding. Thank you so much for your hospitality. Definitely will be back to try more from their menu."

"Best for Saag Chicken and mixed Tandoori platter. I've been coming here since 1998 and still the best Pakistani and Indian food."
"Nothing further to add from the last visit. Delicious food per last review. Got 3-item combo and cost after tax was $17.09Service us quick and easy."
