Vivian P. "I came here to celebrate Lunar New Year after a recommendation from my coworkers and wow they did not disappoint!Their happy hour is a generous time of 5-7pm Monday- Thursday. We made a reservation on open table but we didn't need a reservation on a Wednesday around 6:30pm. They get really busy around 7pm.We got served by the owner and she gave us the background of the restaurant and how their recipes are based on a celebrity chef back in India. The appetizers are a decent size- we LOVED the crispy cauliflower and it had a kick. The chili paneer was good too (and on the happy hour menu). They have so many curries to choose from whether you like meat or veggies. At the end of our meal, the owner insisted we couldn't finish our Lunar New Year meal without a dessert so she sent one out on the house and even wrote Happy New Year on it! What a nice touch. 10/10 will be coming back for the good food and even better hospitality."

Britney M. "Not a bad way to start the year off! With most places closed on New Year's Day, options were slim. We settled on pizza since most pizza places are open still on this national holiday. We found Massimos Pizza and Pasta on door dash and then quickly flipped to Yelp to check the reviews. I saw that the reviews were mostly good, and decided to take a chance. I ordered the veggie pizza with Alfredo sauce instead of marinara sauce. The pizza was cheesy and delicious. The toppings were fresh. The pizza dough was alright. That could be better. Nothing compares to freshly baked vegan pizza dough. But for regular pizza crust, it was alright. It would have been better with a butter crust or garlic- any flavor. The crust and dough were bland to me. We had to really use the ranch to dunk the pizza in it. With the ranch for dipping, it took this pizza up to a 8/10. Without the ranch we are talking more like 7/10."

Brian T. "This spot was on our list for a while, so when we were meeting our friends in Naples for the boat parade, we thought this was our best opportunity! What a charming little place! We loved seeing the Turkish lamps hanging above the dining room, the loud dance music, and the busy staff. This place seems to get a lot of foot traffic from customers along 2nd street, and we're glad to see it! In terms of food, we had hoped to order a chicken shawarma plate, but it was nowhere to be found in the small menu. Instead, we tried the chicken doner wrap, and it was dry and insipid. There's not much else to say about this unremarkable dish, but the fries were decent; not that we went into a Turkish restaurant expecting to eat fries. Would we eat here again? Well, there wasn't much on the menu that caught our eyes. I do appreciate the small storefront vibes, but this place just didn't do it for us."

The plate is big enough to share with two people. The meats are tender and flavorful. The rice is just cooked right with good taste of salad on the side. They don't skimp on the spices! My aunt wanted to take Hubby & I out for lunch, she wanted to try this place in Artesia. We were the first customers of the day. Abida warmly greeted us & we sat at a booth by the counter. It's a small family owned restaurant that could sit possibly 25-30 customers. Free parking available & it is shared on the same plaza as Aikan & Solid Coffee Roasters. We ordered: 4 Beef Tacos, Lamb loin chops, goat curry, paneer tikka (fish/swai) & for myself-/ kabob platter (chose tandoori boti/cubed chicken & Seekh kabobbeef. All served with basmati & naan except for Hubby's tacos. I felt it was going to take a bit of time so I went with an appetizer to hold us off: Kbbq chicken wings (12 pieces). As it turned out, Abida was the only person cooking at the back at 11 am & help will arrive around noon (Ali). It really does have that mom n pop deal, like you were invited to someone's home & they cook for you. Abida was reassuring & we felt we were being looked after by someone's mom. It did take a bit of time (no more than you would at any dine in restaurants) but factor in that it's only Abida cooking. The chicken wings arrived shortly & we enjoyed these while waiting for the rest of our meals. Very flavorful spiced appropriately. When our plates were presented, we dug right in. Although we mentioned low to medium spice level, our dishes definitely had some kick to it, not overpowering though . My tandoori boti chicken was tender & paired so well with the garlic naan. My auntie had the goat curry which was also very full of savory & warm spices/-I dipped my naan to sop up the goodness. My beef Seekh kabob was good but I really liked the chicken. My aints & Hubby liked their orders. My other auntie ordered a mango lass & it looked so good that ended ordering one for myself. It was a bit too sweet for my taste so I shared with Hubby & diluted it--it was a unique taste & it was refreshingly creamy, delicious! All in all it was my first taste of Indian & Korean foods, it was very tasty & we welcomed the amazing hospitality shown by Abida & Ali who helped the 2nd half of our meal. It was a great dining experience"

Sara K. "We were craving Turkish food so we decided to make the trek out to try this place. It's a casual eatery with a few tables. If you are a large party, I would suggest ordering takeout instead. We ordered:Lentil soup - a nice way to start the meal and warm up your stomach for feasting! It's smooth, creamy, and delicious!Beef baguette - our favorite item! Tender cuts of beef with salad and amazing sauce. The beef was juicy and had a slight kick of spice to it. The baguette was fresh and soft, not the type that cuts the roof of your mouth. Beef & lamb bowl - my kids loved this the most. 2 large kabobs of flavorful meat over rice and salad. They gobbled this up - toddler approved! I also loved the flavor of the meat as well, almost like it had blue cheese in it. Ayran - Yogurt drink - it's perfect for washing down spicy foods and also great for digestion after eating too much! It's a staple when we eat Turkish food. They also have complimentary black tea available in the canisters which is a huge plus to drink with your meal.Kunefe - our favorite dessert. It's a crunchy noodle pastry with cheese, sweet syrup, and toasted pistachios. The perfect way to end a meal. The owner was so sweet and gave us recommendations and also gave us some food for our hungry kids while we were waiting. He also turned on cartoons for the kids to watch, since they were getting a little crazy. All of the food was freshly made, with the right amount of spice, and delicious. The food is authentic and delicious on its own, not overly disguised with sauce like the more Americanized places. The portions were generous and prices were on point for the quality of food. Highly recommend this place. We will be back to try the other dishes."

First time and it won't be the last, the Smokey was the burger I got and this was your basic Angus but leveled up when it was all said and done! The smoke and cheese injection is the show but even without it the other burgers are still a go! I also had their double smash burger and that too was hitting my tastebuds on all points. The joint has a rustic hunters vibe with comfy booths and the music selection is interesting. Both do a great job on both sides of the menu. We usually eat the Persian food, which is kebabs and rice which are always excellent and the prices are fair. The Italian food is mostly pastas and pizza and those are great as well and the prices are good on those as well. The owner was very nice, welcoming, and let me try samples of the Malai Chicken and Karahi Chicken because I didn't know what they tasted like. The Karahi is more spiced while the Malai is tamed in spice. I ordered the Karahi Chicken Roll ($10), Pulao Biryani Bowl ($13), and Mango Lassi ($7).The food came out very quickly and freshly hot. The Karahi Roll includes a flaky flatbread, karahi chicken, salad, onions, and cilantro. This wrap was delicious due to the melding of flavors along with the Green sauce (creamy cilantro and jalapeno). The Pulao Biryani Bowl includes biryani rice, karahi chicken, onions, cucumber salad, and yogurt sauce. This was a refreshing salad rice bowl and there was plenty of flavor from the karahi chicken. The Mango Lassi was a thick creamy mango yogurt drink, which helped complement the spiciness of the chicken. This was a great place to eat on a weekend night and I look forward to trying out their other menu items!"

Howie C. "Ambiance and Decor - 5Service - 4Food - 3Value - 2I'm torn on Shor. It's a beautiful restaurant and very fitting for a nice night out. But we tried calling and they didn't pick up the phone at first and wouldn't take reservation. Most mains are fairly priced, maybe a couple of dollars over an average Indian restaurant but some items on the menu seemed pricey. A soda was $5, but a craft soda was $10. Spirit Free Cocktails are $15 (no alcohol). Limca (bottle soda) - This was really flat with no carbonation. It's like a cross between Squirt and 7 Up in taste. I would not get this again.Dahi Puri - I haven't had this dish before at other places so I won't compare it. It came in a crispy edible cup that had a plop of yogurt with tamirand, chutney, cumin seeds and spiced potatoes. There was a lot going on here and it was balanced. Fun to eat but can be messy if you bite at the wrong angle and the yogurt starts flowing out. Handle it, you can do this!Mantu - This was a dumpling/rice paper roll dish that had spicy ground beef in the middle. The dish tasted good, but nothing that necessarily distinguished itself as must get. Goat Cheese Kulcha - Loved this one. Naan that has goat cheese inside, grilled with parmesan cheese on the outside all with some truffle oil and butter sauce. A sinful cheese pie. Garlic Naan - It is a thicker naan served whole and uncut. Cooked perfectly, crispy and chewy. Could use a little more garlic oil sauce on it. More garlic please!Chicken Tikka Masala - The sauce base on this was rich and slightly creamy with good spiciness. The chicken in this dish was dry and probably overcooked. This is something that can be easily fixed to make this a very good dish.Paper Dosa ($16, add masala potato +4) - Full size large dosa was cooked right, crispy but not burnt. I love dosas and this one was good, but most places charge about $12-$15 for this dish with the curry potato filling. Here that will set you back $20. Friends in my party ordered other dishes but I didn't get to try them all. The food quality is fresh and good and presentation is great, but does not differentiate itself enough taste wise for me to point people here as a destination restaurant over your local favorite Indian sit down place. If you want a great ambiance and are in the area, give Shor a try. Do also know that they automatically add 20% service charge to your bill so no need to add extra tip unless you want to."
