The blueberry scones wasn't too sweet and soft and flakey. I had the flatten croissant and I should of gotten the one the toppings, the original just was a flatten croissant with a tiny bit of glazed on it. I also got the nutella one and that one was really good and packed with flavor. The place was cute for studying or catching up with a friend. Service was great and friendly."

"I started following Alenni on IG (@batterupsweetery) a few months ago after seeing a local Long Beach page post her. Her work is what caught my eye and I was instantly hooked (I am a visual person). I mean seriously, who doesn't want to support a local, small, women-owned business? When we got engaged and locked in a location for our happy hour/engagement party, I knew the one favor I wanted our guests to take home was one of her cookies. I contacted Alenni, she was prompt to respond as well as super friendly. I was probably annoyingly easy for her because I just trusted her judgement and expertise. I wanted her to have fun with these cookies as well. We did a neutral toned palette for our cookies and she creative absolute masterpieces.Not only did the cookies look absolutely beautiful, they tasted amazing as well (you can ask my guests from the party who are still talking about them!). The flavor was balanced and just perfect, not too sweet and they weren't dry at all. "I recently discovered the beauty of lamhajuns from other bakeries, and I was excited to try them here! They were tasty as expected, and I love that they are a light and affordable snack. We also tried the khachapuri, spinach boreg, and zaatar manaish. The khachapuri was light in flavor so we needed to add some salt and pepper. I appreciated that it was a good, simple pastry. The zaatar manaish has a fluffier dough and is drier than the lahmajun. It's good on its own, but I could see myself adding cheese to it since that seems like a good pairing. The man at the cashier is so friendly and makes you feel welcomed. The parking lot is tiny, but we've been lucky to find parking easily on our visits."

"This is the place I'll drive on the freeway during a rainstorm for some good pan dulce. Located in plaza Mexico shopping center, surrounded by various other bakeries and shops for Mexican delights... but this little bakery is the winner. My mom and I are very picky when it comes to our pan dulce. It's been a staple in our home growing up and now in my home it is still there on my dining table to share with my friends. Vivian's bakery has the soft, flavorful, delicious sweet bread with the best recipes. I can taste the difference in the bread here compared to any other bakery. It's just better! Trust me. The customer service is really great as well! I've been here on my good days as well as my bad days, and the owner has been gracious with me. Even once, I was short on cash and asked her to take out a piece and she smiled at me and said to bring what I owe for next time. Such a sweet lady! I can rave about the bread all day, but I've also got to mention a special item here. They serve atole, which is hard for me to explain what it is. It's not like coffee, it's thick but not like oatmeal. There's several flavors but the best one I've had here is also a rare flavor, I've never seen this offered anywhere else and it's... GUAYABA (guava). The guayaba atole is SO DELICIOUS. I can't even begin to explain what it tastes like! It's just GOOD and sweet, so if you don't like sweet I wouldn't recommend. But also, while in line I ALWAYS overhear people say they're getting the Nuez (walnut) atole. So that's really popular too. I wasn't a fan, though. Anyway, please give this place your business if you want to try some GOOD pan dulce and maybe some of their other treats. You won't be disappointed!"

They open at 8:00am, but close at 1:00pm or 2:00pm daily depending on the day. So keep that in mind before you decide to drop by! ** All their baked goods such as scones and bagels are made in-house and will be fresh out of the oven at 9:00am every day! But they do not refresh their baked items in their display case, so it's first come, first serve until sold out! So come in around that time if you want to grab any of those items. DROP BISCUIT SANDWICHWarm, buttery, flaky garlic cheddar drop biscuit with thinly sliced ham, cream cheese and melty, gooey cheddar cheese. This was so good! It was the perfect size too! These are to die for! JALAPEÑO CHEDDAR BAGEL Deliciousss! Made in-house and it shows! Lovely springy bagel bread sprinkled with jalapeño and cheddar. Bagel is not thin, but has a beautiful spongy bite to it. Toasted or untoasted, it was delicious with or without cream cheese. When toasted, delightfully crunchy on the outside and bread is still chewy and not dry. PUMPKIN SPICE LATTEThis was good, although there was more  nutmeg than cinnamon, which was kinda' sad. However, loved the frothy creamy milk. If only there was more flavor overall. COFFEE CAKE SCONEI'm gonna say it again. Deeeelicioussss! Fluffy and soft with the outside layers having a light crunch! Enjoyed every bite!Yes, it does taste like coffee cake, but subtle in flavor. If you didn't know the name, you'd probably think it's a cinnamon scone. But still more buttery than cinnamony. CHOCOLATE CHIP SCONEThis had a good amount of choc chips in each bite! However, I realized that the freshly baked scones do not taste the same after a few hours. Texture-wise still moist and biscuit-like in some areas, but some parts were dry. Unfortunate because the Coffee Cake Scone was a completely different experience! Scones should be consumed ASAP. Get there early to grab a scone or two fresh! BREAKFAST SANDWICHYes, gonna say it again! This was deeelicioussss! Recommended to me by the barista, so I had to try it! Fluffy scrambled eggs, sausage patty (a bit thin though), gooey melty cheddar cheese on a soft buttery brioche bun! Heavenlyyy! I don't think this is offered daily, as I did not see this on the daily menu, so if you see it, order it without a second thought! Eat it right away! Once you try it, you'll be dreaming of them daily! CALI BLTWanted to try an avocado toast and it seems this was the only toast on the menu with avocado in it. But didn't realize bacon was added too, hence the BLT.  Their house-made sourdough bread was absolutely crunchy, spongy, delightful! Super delish! That bread was so good and that crusty cheddar melted on top! The toppings were okay and wished it was a simpler toast with maybe heirloom tomatoes, smashed avocado, sea salt, black pepper and sprinkled with olive oil. CHEDDAR BAGEL (with Garlic Herb Cream Cheese)Toasted, it was perfectly chewy and lightly crunchy cheddar top on the outside. It was perfect as it was! The garlickly chunky herbed cream cheese was delicious with the bagel. I am officially a fan of their bagels! Not buying them elsewhere! CAPPUCCINO (Hot)Overall decent flavor. Steamed milk was perfect. BROWNIEThe brownie was moist with a crumbly top. Good cocoa and semi-sweet chocolate flavor coming through! PEANUT BUTTER CUP LATTE (Hot)This had a lovely peanut butter flavor and had the right amount of sweetness! Enjoyed this! Ordering again next time! I'm no stranger to their treats as they are a regular vendor at the Wednesday Marine Stadium farmers market and other farmers markets. They're Filipino owned so of course you will find a couple of ube-flavored goodies here.You can find their shop near the southwest corner of Broadway & Temple next to the bike shop. We always get their Goto, Veggie Lumpia, Dinuguan, Tokwa't Baboy and Pansit. The past few months, I have been adding Cebuchon (roasted pork belly) and Pansit Malabon. I always bring these for potlucks and it has always been a bit. Crunchy skin and mouth watering belly meat marinated with spices and lemongrass. Tess, their main server is such a sweetheart. It is like visiting a family's home...I always order and take it home, as there is not enough space to enjoy your food."

"Firstly, I want say that the banh mi's here are delicious and unique. I saw complaints about how small the banh mi's are compared to other spots. But if you look at the concept of their bakery it's more of French style and it's not meant to be like typical banh mi's spots like Tan Hoang Huong or Banh mi Che Cali. The bread is more sourdough like and it seems like they baked them freshly in store. Please look around and observe before writing reviews.Some banh mi's options has scallions or arugula in it. How can you compare this to typical Vietnamese spots? If anything this place is more gourmet for literally the same price as any other banh mi's spots. The education and technique the owner obtained to create these creations are worth the money spent here. If you want regular Vietnamese banh mi then this is not the spot for you.The flavors that this place has is unlike any other and I'm glad I stumbled upon it a few months ago. I've been coming back every other week and the sandwiches have been on my mind as one of my top spots. I'm not affiliated with this store and I feel that the negative reviews are not accurate. If you look at the bakery it seems like a mom and pop shop and the owner is running it by herself with some family members. It's ok, as long as the food and service are great. Everyone who starts a business takes time to build it up. I believe they are doing great and the food prices are reasonable. They are not charging over the top for nothing. If you like to support big corporations that have the funds to support making their businesses look up to par then please do so... but please don't criticized mom and pop shops over what kind of bag they use to give you the product. The bag is new and not used. It just doesn't say the current business name. And I don't see what that has to do with the actual product itself that's being offered.Anyway, give this place a try and you won't be disappointed. They sell human and dog treats, along with coffee and gelato. My son said the gelato was 5 stars lol. I knew I wanted to try this place specifically because they had a cardamom latte, which I LOVE and never see this outside of my usual place close to home I go to in Brea. My latte was flavorful and I really enjoyed it. The overall vibe of the place is very cute and cozy, and definitely different, which makes it stand out in a good way. They have coloring pages where you can decorate a doxy and yours can be featured on their wall. This place is worth checking out, we'll be back for sure!"

I recently ordered the "cafe de olla" and thought it was tasty but a bummer they do not add piloncillo (brown sugar like) as most places do. The server explained "the original" does not have that added it is just coffee with cinnamon. Anyways, that coffee is still tasty and recommend trying it out.
