Well there are lots of comfy booths. It was pretty busy-plenty of disabled parking. I ordered the New York steak. Size was o.k. came with veggies, salad or soup, and baked potato. I subbed hash browns for baked potato. Bleu cheese dressing on my salad. That little salad was great. I also got bread!Mine was 1 dollar less than most every meal/ breakfast I saw on the menu.I also got two onion rings a top my steak. We always leave pleasantly filled and ready for a nap. My wife ordered the chili Spaghetti and was just fine. Nice big water glasses too.

Been going to Bob's Big Boy since I was young. So happy when they put one in Downey! I go often and always get the Big Boy hamburger with easy sauce. Takes me back to my childhood.The service is good and it's clean. Make sure to try the hot fudge brownie with a scoop of vanilla for desert. You won't regret it one bit.

After seeing Wicked at the AMC Norwalk, we stopped by Bob's Big Boy Broiler in Downey. Compared to the Toluca Lake location, this one was pretty empty--no wait for a table on a Friday night after Thanksgiving. We all went for the Big Boy Combo, which includes a burger, salad with blue cheese dressing, and flaky onion rings (instead of fries)--exactly what you'd expect from Bob's. The hot fudge cake, of course, stole the show. The restaurant was nostalgically decorated for the holidays, with the iconic drive-in exterior, beautiful neon signs, and a new Bob's Big Boy statue. Service was friendly, if a bit slow, but overall, it was a fun and satisfying visit.

Our waitress was friendly, but our food was served three minutes before our utensils arrived. I actually had to flag my waitress down for utensils. Coffee cup and water was promptly refilled. Food was delicious. I'm glad this Bob's Big Boy is still standing. What a legendary restaurant. I can't wait to go back with friends who have long forgotten the chain since we were children.

There's something so nostalgic about prancing into a diner with buzzing neon that you can hear on the walk way, similar to the buzz of cicadas in the summer.Bobs isn't anything special, it's just a trip to yesteryear where we didn't give a shit about if it was organic, had world class ambience, or if it was endorsed by the hero of the day. Bobs is a place that hugs you from the inside out. (And might destroy your insides if you order the chili spaghetti) The shakes are stellar, the burgers decadent, the chili spaghetti a piece of Midwest hoe dunk Americana we forgot about.
