Blue Star Drive In

Blue Star is a staple within the Wrigley Neighborhood. This small burger joint has been around for a long time, serving the downtown Long Beach community some delicious burgers. The low ratings on this small local business is quite confusing to me as the food is delicious and is served to you within a timely manner, not to mention the prices are pocket-friendly as well!The only thing I could see being a conflict of interest regarding folks leaving low ratings is the possible language barrier as the owners are an old hispanic couple. Minuscule details like that don't personally bother me though as I'm a true foodie who loves supporting local businesses! My go-to is their Bacon Cheese Burger Combo with a side of thousand island. As I said in previous reviews, I'm sort of a burger connoisseur and compared to other bland burgers I've tried in the area this place is extremely solid. I encourage my fellow Yelpers to give this place a shot. Support your local businesses, you won't be disappointed!

Good morning. If I can give you zero stars I would. Brought my family and I too eat and your customer service SUCKS. It was our first time here. The employee couldn't make changes to our order. We tried to work with him but his attitude just got worse.never again coming back!

A nice hidden treasure in the neighborhood. This place has been here for many many years but it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I actually checked it out and I've been coming here ever since. If you love that tams style burgers you're in for a treat. The burgers are delicious and juicy with lots of fries on the side.My fav so far has been the double bacon cheese burger. The breakfast is good as well. You got your bacon, hash, eggs , ham and toast to start your day.,They have a good selection of plates and burgers. The place itself is small and it's got that vintage look to it but clean for the most part. The cashiers and cooks are friendly. If you're in town and want a delicious burger made right in the hood, stop by and give these guys some love

I pass this place every day and always wanted to try...so 1 went in for lunch with my BF ready to eat..but wanted to waash up before ...NOPE the old mean face yellow haired lady with attitude said I couldn't use the bathroom...seriously I understand the BUM situation in Long Beach but I believe if you can see with your eyes and my BF was already ordering ..he then said he didn't even want to eat there any more! Basically I am not judging on food quality it's about poor quality customer service! And loosing money based on integrity no thank you! I went to a better burger place in a better part of town

This spot would be getting 4 stars cuz the avo-bacon-cheeseburger was yummy and the people were nice. Then it did weird things to my insides I could really only call hell.....

Horrible. They got my order wrong. The food did not taste done and when you use your card they give you change in cash. Also the man cooking did not have a hair net on and he has huge bumps in his hair.

Blue Star Drive In gives you that classic burger drive in experience with quality food and classic ambiance. Their double hamburger is great and their onion rings are the best i had in awhile. Also Linda's customer service and Samuel's cooking skills are amazing. Great service and food over all.

this place has been a cornerstone of that community for more than half a century. Niko the owner has run Blue Star for more than 50 years!! they believe in high quality food with great portions. they use fresh beef for their burgers. they make most of the sauces, chili, as well as hard shell tacos. yes, it's old-school but this is what fast-food used to be before all the microwaved, fake-food, franchises. give it a try and you won't be disappointed. I always recommend bacon cheeseburger with avocado, chili cheese fries, hard shell tacos. breakfast portions are amazing. still open for takeout with COVID19.. need everyone's support to keep this place running for the years to come!

Let's start with the service... the older woman that runs the place was just plain rude. She didn't listen very well and she didn't seem like she wanted to be there. Then the food I received was way overcooked. My Denver omelette needed a knife to cut through it. When I finally received my meal I went to go sit down and she yelled at me that there was no dining in service. There were no signs or anything indicating that there was no seating. So I'm eating my meal in my car.

My family and I went there for first time and the place was so dirty , the blade curtains so dusty and flies every where, very disappointed because while we were eating we have to "Shuu" the flies away!
