Black Pork

I'm in love with this food.I've been a hooked customer since day 1.I love that this place is growing and growing.Everything on the menu is a hand crafted perfection.This is place is gem.I can beat they will be michelin star restaurant soon.

Had lunch today at Black Pork. This is a very small place in a not exactly best location. Parking is on a neighbor residential street. The folks that own this business are very nice. I had three of their tacos: carnitas, carne asada and shrimp. They are large, so if you want a light lunch, I would suggest ordering 2. They use a lot of chopped jalapenos, so if you are concerned about heat, ask them to go light on the jalapenos.We also ordered the guacamole with pork. What this is is delicious guacamole with chicarones and pork belly. A large portion.All in all, I will be back soon. I will ask them to make sure the meat is drained before putting it on the tortillas. It is a bit greasy. The chef came out with a large bowl of clam chowder for us to try. Wow! He adds bacon to it. It was really delicious. If I hadn't already been too full from the 3 tacos and guac, I would have enjoyed it. My dining partner gobbled it up! I've also heard that they have steamed clams! These folks deserve to have us visit them. They need to thrive!

My best friend and weekly lunch buddy was very excited to bring me here for lunch on Wednesday. He raved about the food, particularly the chowder, and the Cuban sandwich.This is not in the best neighborhood in Long Beach. It is not a fancy-pants kind of place. The bar next door was being pressure washed inside and out when we slid by to the front door of Black Pork!The menu was intriguing, the beef sandwich grabbed my attention at once. The gal behind the counter was very nice about explaining the options. The steak sandwich which I had ordered, turned out to be fantastic. The steak was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned perfectly presented and I ate every single bite. The French fries were exceptional! Very crispy, hot fresh seasoned, even crave-able. I am still remembering them 5 days later, they were that good!My friend got the chowder, he let me try it and it was 10 out of 10! So creamy, filled with yummy clams, potatoes, and dreams! YouMust get the chowder!He also had the Cuban Sandwich and it was also THE BEST!I could go on but this is our kind of place. Humble, mom and pop turning out awesome delicious food in a clean cozy unassuming venue!

This place never disappoints, I tried the most amazing potato ball there is, it's even better than Porto's because you get the creaminess from all the aoli and sauce it comes with. The Cuban is gigantic and should be shared , the salad is well dressed and please give the peach ginger ice tea a try ... I'm coming to get a gallon of it next time.

Black Pork is a small restaurant that is located on the side of a busy street in West Long Beach. Yelpers brought me here with their photos and reviews flaunting the stellar portions of meat. The value for the meat is pretty fair. For today's visit I had the Guacamole con Puerco ($12.50). The guacamole is nicely balanced with citrus, onions, and serranos. I like that it's topped with pork rinds and thin pork belly. I did have more guac than I could eat with the toppings - I ate my leftovers with my entree. I should have bought some extra tortilla chips for $2.50, but it was not recommended to me as an option.For the main course, I went with their pork belly skewers ($17.50). You can't tell in the pictures, but the pork belly servings are MASSIVE. I chose it with mashed potatoes on the side. The pork is cooked nicely; however, I should have ordered it with rice to balance out the fattiness of the pork. I purchased a side of rice and brought my leftovers home to eat it this way for lunch.I didn't see their specials listed inside the restaurant, but I saw another patron eating a huge steak. When I looked at their website, I saw it listed online as a special. Their steaks look impressively huge, and I would have considered it if I knew that they were serving it.I really like the meats that are offered here. I think sandwiches and apps sound tasty/balanced here and it's probably the best way to eat their delicious meats. I think their entree-sized meats are generous, but I think that they could be better balanced with acid/spice/carbs/herbs to elevate it to a five-star level. I also wish I could have had a beer, but my mexican coke was fine! Other yelpers are correct: it's not the best neighborhood and you'll have to find street parking. It's counter service. You order as you enter, and they deliver your plates to your table. You could also order online for pickup orders. The restaurant is small and there are about 5-6 tables and bar seating. Overall, I think that is a small business that's worth supporting! Next time I come by here, I'll probably get some of their sandwiches to go! Their black cheese fried burger certainly looks epic.

Parking : it's a busy street on Willow street so definitely score street parking that's about 4 minute walking distance. Amenities: super clean and dark theme hence the name Black Pork! Host was out and about making sure the fly doesn't get into the restaurant and shooing it away from the black net entrance. Food: we ordered the pork belly and baby back ribs with mash potatoes. Pork belly is on the saltier side but it goes well with potatoes. The beet salad was refreshing !! The ribs. To DIE for. Would be back for takeout. Love that the place use the latest accounting checkout device

This place is good, unfortunately not great. Ordered the Korean bbq ribs and maybe just our plate but we felt it had too much fatty skin on it. Taste was good, I enjoyed the empanadas and guacamole with bacon a lot more.The place is super small with little seating so if in a large group, it may not be suitable for that. Staff was really nice though and good came out fairly quick.

I had no idea this place existed until I drove by. Their version of a Cuban sandwich is the most indulgent I've ever tasted, that roasted pork just absolutely melts in your mouth, I'd recommend asking it to be cut in half. The place is small so service is quick and efficient. Also tried their empanadas and they were equally delicious. I can only imagine how good everything else is.

Oh wow, Black Pork was very very good. I've been seeing photos on social media and have wanted to try this for a while now. My mollejas taco was so tasty, and the chicken on the chicken nachos was also so tender and juicy. My wife said the same about her chicken sandwich.The owner is very nice too. She came by to check on us and chat for a short bit. We said we would come again and she told us that they constantly have specials depending on what fresh fish or meats they get. I definitely want to come back for dinner and try their short ribs or asada.

Black pork is a hidden gem! We usually go for the fish tacos which is fresh, light and delicious! If you're going for a good old fashioned burger be sure to have an appetite, it was very tasty and juicy; you will get full and satisfied. We also had the potato ball which we really enjoyed! The portions was just enough to share and it was very savory ! Give their berry smoothie a shot ! Very pleasantly refreshing to wash down your food! Veronica is very sweet to us and goes beyond customer services to make sure our food was perfect. We will be back for the potatoes balls and try other things on their menu!!
