Black Bamboo Sushi

What great little gem located in PVE! When my fiancé brought me here, as this has been his spot since forever, I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty and wonderful everything is. All of the fish is ridiculously fresh and the fresh homemade soju is just heaven! The staff is wonderful and very attentive, which is greatly appreciated! For anyone in So Cal, Black Bamboo is worth the drive!

Wow, the lunch specials went up in price again. Holy cow , this is not a value restaurant. I guess lunada bay real estate prices are too high to be able to have lunch specials that are less than $23. But , frankly, it's now at the point where your better off driving a bit farther to either golden cove or riviera village to get Japanese food. And we were the only ones in at lunch time. That's not good either. So sad...Sad but true

WOW, just wow! I can't believe I haven't been here before. It's not that far from me, and it's in this quaint location in PVE. I can't say enough good things about this place. The fish is incredibly fresh. The flavors are so well layered and even on seemingly heavier dishes there's a light finish in each dish. Really unique combinations that all compliment one another from dish to dish. I will definitely be back, many many times!

Sushi Rice was extremely dry, and some pieces are hard. I can't justify paying 35 dollars for them.

Stoped for a lunch... ok sushi (not the freshest)... roll was dry and lacked flavor. Other dishes were also ok.... Service was good. I won't be back.

It's filling and authentic. I do wish they had a happy hour for lunch though. The prices were a bit steep so I didn't get to try everything I wanted, but what I did have was delicious.

Great spot for delicious sushi. Quick and helpful service with an eye for detail. We'll be back!

They are super nice and helpful! The place is kind of like a mom and pop shop, super cute and cozy but small. And the food is so yummy the salmon just melts inf your mouth and I haven't been disappointed

Nestled in the cove of Lunada Bay, this local sushi spot is truly a gem for our community. With some of the freshest fish in the south bay, this restaurant truly provides a dining experience second to none. The decorations make you feel like your back in Japan and the service is just as you'd expect from the Japanese. Amazing food, service, and vibes! The albacore sashimi, yellowtail carpaccio and fire cracker roll were our favorites! The tuna poke was also new to me and something unique.

The prices are a little higher than other sushi places I've been too. I ordered the udon and asked if they use garlic in the broth, was told they didn't, but still had a bunch of garlic in it. I wouldn't have ordered it if that was the case.
