This is a small "hole in a wall" authentic Mexican place. I tried the carne asada burrito and it was really good and they have a good salsa. The portion was great, it had great flavor. Will certainly return to try the rest.

If you go, go for the chorizo - it's burned just enough on the bottom and has a strong, balanced spice profile. The carnitas are good too - nice and juicy. I could have skipped the lengua and birria. My carrot juice tasted like celery. Normally this would have been a total dealbreaker, but I feel like I may be beginning to feel the effects of starting to be able to tolerate celery after 32 years of hating it. And if that's the case, thanks El Cabrito, I guess!

Super low key little spot in the middle of nowhere. My bestie lives down the street so I've been here a number of times over the years. Everything I've tried has been up to par. Tasty tacos, tortas, burritos, juices, everything. Pretty authentic as well. You can choose what fruits and veggies you want to make your own juice. Just tried the tamarindo diablito the other day... SO GOOD. it was super sweet but the fresh pieces of tamarindo blew me away.... chamoy and mango.... yum! if you like spicy things you should try one. it also comes with a tamarindo candy stick but I threw it away because there was so much sugar in it already lol. One of those places where everything is consistent and yummy. I'll be back to try a bionico soon!

Wow.......really interesting joint. Avoided this place for months because of the "B" rating in the window. My bung doesn't do well with places rated "B." A buddy of mine who previously worked for the health department told me that a place basically needed to have rodents in order to get a "B." Driving by last week, I noticed the City of Carson Health Department bumped them up to an "A." I figured either the rats were gone or they started washing their hands before preparing the food. Either way, the A rating was a green light to dig in! (Some aficianados of Mexican food will not go into a place unless it has a "B" or a "C" rating, mind you.)The restaurant is filled w/ the working class -- and moderately busy at lunch time -- always a good sign. I felt a little out of place in work slacks and collared shirt, but, when I busted out my Espanol when it was time to order, it was all good. The place has pictures of all of the plates offered -- and is your standard Mexican fare -- enchiladas, fajitas, carne asada, tacos, etc. As I love breakfast for lunch, I went for the machaca con huevos (shredded beef w/ eggs). I had a hard time deciding, as the lunch special was 4 tacos and a drink for under 5 bucks! Great lunch deal....additionally, this place has more types of fruit drinks than you can shake a stick at.......it's most definitely like a fruteria ubiquitous in Mexico. Awesome! Minus one star for no public bano (restroom) -- I always wash my hands before eating.....and felt gross not having the ability. The food came out quickly and was delivered to my table. A ginormous portion of eggs, machaca, soupy/lardy refried beans, rice, and 5 delicious tortillas. Great salsa, too. Literally, if you're starving, you will NOT leave hungry. Great portion size, awesome! This place truly is Mexican. Not just because they have lists of delicious fruit shakes and bionicos, but if you want, you can pick up a pair of boots after you're done eating. That's right: leather boots for sale for a mere $25 bucks. Where else can you get fed AND do your shopping in one place? Gracias El Cabrito. I'm sure the good people that run this place have asked La Virgen (large shrine behind the cash register) to bless El Cabrito by delivering hot plates of grub to hungry workers. And get em a new set of boots while they're at it. Mission accomplished. I'm looking forward to exploring the food and delicious shakes and fruit drinks at El Cabrito in the next few months.

Holy mole! We popped off the 405 before getting on the 101 and this place is a gem! There was so much flavor in every dish. The rice and beans are better than my moms and I can honestly say I've never had better. The corn tortillas were made fresh for the enchiladas. The salsa was soo good. They should sell jars of it. I wanted to ask if they did but I was embarrassed. I'll come back every time I'm in the area.
