Beach Hut Deli

We decided to grab a quick meal before heading to the Queen Mary's Dark Harbor. I wasn't very hungry, so I went with a grilled cheese and a Cali Caprese.I can appreciate simple sandwiches, and I loved the restaurant's beach hut vibe! They serve food on frisbee plates, with tables made from surfboards, and sports playing on TV. The sandwiches take a little longer to prepare, but they're made with LOVEEEE--and absolutely worth the wait! To shorten the wait, we ordered online. I would love it if there was a side of tomato soup to go with the grilled cheese.

I purchased a "mystery bag" from the app called "Too Good to Go" the previous night for pick up the next day. Upon arrival, the cashier seemed a bit confused as if she knew about the app, but did not at the same time. When she went to go check with another employee, she came back with some half loaves of bread that she threw together informing me that all she had was bread to offer. I told her that what I paid (5.50) was not worth a half loaf of bread that she tossed together and she proceeded to look at me with this blank look on her face. I told her never mind and I would request a refund via the app (which I did with no issues).The other employee came out of hiding and half heartedly mentions it to the cashier that she could make me a sandwich. Um, hello, I was standing right there, why not ask me directly? I appreciate the solution; however, Beach Hut Deli shouldn't be participating with "Too Good to Go" if they are not sure they will have discounted food items available (the app gives a limited amount of offers that you pre-pay for until sold out). Total waste of my time and definitely not good service.

Beach Hut Deli is the perfect place to grab a quick lunch in the area. I placed my order online and it was ready within 15 minutes. The staff members were kind and the place looked like it had a nice vibe. I enjoyed sitting outside. I ordered the Mesa Salad and it was delicious. Highly recommend.

A nice place to go to that is walking distance from the convention center. I was working an event at the convention center and was on the search for something to eat. I placed a pick up order while I was at the convention center, and it was ready by the time I walked there. Grabbed my food, and had a seat at one of the tables outside. It was delicious and I will definitely be back again next time I'm in the area!

1. This place is bigger than it looks. Good indoor seating with a 'bar' area as well as some tables and some booths.2. Parking available (for a fee) in the building. Not sure if they validate like their neighbor restaurant does next door.3. Great neighborhood place.Food wise I only had a cold sandwich, The Santa Barbara. The insides - the bacon and avocado were great. I am NOT a fan of shredded lettuce where the head is put on a meat slicer. I also think they might explore other bread options for their cold sandwiches. Big white fluffy bread doesn't seem quite hearty enough. Was there with several friends and that was the general feeling about their sandwiches as well. Next time I'll try a hot sandwich; looked like the sandwiches were grilled nicely. We'll see.The place has a good assortment of 1/2 bottles of wine for about $17 (two glasses worth), beer on tap, carbonated water, etc. Nice chip selection. Staff warm and working hard. A great addition to the neighborhood.

Went to check them out for the first time on a Saturday at 11am.The place is new and it's very clean and welcoming. Staff is very friendly, greeting you as you walk in. Order at the counter, get a few drinks, and they'll bring it to your table. The Salad was huge! Maybe offer a 1/2 salad option. The sandwiches are offered in various sizes. My Sunrise sandwich was so fresh and tasty, I finished it off in no time. We had beer and wine with the meal. Highly recommended and we'll be returning soon.

Can a sandwich make you happy? Normally I would say no but oh my goodness. As a not so pastrami lover, I may have fallen in love. We had a catered lunch and this sandwich was divine. I didn't even see the extra dressing, mayo, or mustard because the sandwich was soooo delish. The dressing was tasty on its own.There was a cookie that was a soft, wonderful pillow of taste. I had the pastrami and salami sandwich with tomatoes, onions, and lettuce. This sandwich was large with generous toppings. The owner is congenial and passionate. This would make your catered event pop. Now I am ready to visit their store.

This is a great place to get a deli sandwich. I have gone to Long Beach and mission Viejo locations. Both served delicious sandwiches. These can be easily shared. They pack the sandwiches with plenty of deli meat and fixings. The veggies delish taste very fresh. They have tv at most of the booths which you can enjoy while eating. Both locations had great staff who were friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend for lunchtime meal

This is the best sandwich I have ever had!!! Omg! It was my first time here. So filling and fresh feeling. Full of flavor. Also the staff is all energetic and the whole vibe is super west coast. 10/10.

Pretty good IMO. The sandwich was huge in terms of the amount of meat provided. Maybe there was a little much mayo but not a major issue. You may just want to be aware. Sandwiches have soft bread which is not our preference but still good food.
