We immediately made a reservation upon seeing the chef on Ktla for Long Beach restaurant week. Our family recognized him from hell's kitchen so we knew we had to try. It was about an hour long drive for us, but it was absolutely worth it and we are already planning to come back. Three out of the four of us chose to dine off of the preset Long Beach restaurant week menu. We all started with cocktails that are meticulously crafted to order and were phenomenal. We ordered some extra plates to share and were so glad we did. The focaccia with ricotta and prosciutto was divine. We ordered the carrots as an appetizer and highly recommend those they are light and flavorful and you'll want more. We opted to share the duck confit and everyone loved it. The marmalade paired with the Italian white beans and crispy duck put it over the top.Our dinner is consisted of three different pastas and a pork Milanese. Each pasta was rich and hit all the marks. Our dessert was delicious, a play on rocky road we were told. They also let us try the ricotta donuts with a banana caramel, which was very similar to a bananas foster. The service was great. The food was amazing. We can't wait for our next trip.

Went here for date night with my lady and it was great! We got the rolled mushroom pasta and it was rich and filling! And the short rib which was not my favorite due to the blue cheese sauce which was too heavy for my taste and competed with the sauce of the meat . We also ordered the focaccia with the anchovy dip which was probably our favorite ! The bread was fluffy and crispy on the outside, and ended with the tiramisu cheesecake our least favorite item of the night but still edible. The staff was incredible and would go back if in the area

I feel uneasy about writing this review, but I need to say something in the hopes that the manager will see this and make some adjustments. I'm actually surprised this hasn't been mentioned previously. My husband and I decided to try this place after seeing it had five stars on Yelp so we came on a weeknight. The restaurant seemed busy. We were seated at the counter, facing two chefs that prepared dinner that night. The food was good, so I won't comment on that in this review, as you can read about the food in other yelp reviews. This review is strictly about the cleanliness of the restaurant and their hygiene practices. I have never worked in the service industry, so it was very enlightening for me to watch the two chefs at work. I was fascinated by how well they worked together and how calm they both seemed while preparing so many dishes.I didn't realize that some chefs do not wear gloves when touching food, but I would assume they'd wash their hands frequently between dishes. In the hour and a half that we were there, only one of the chefs washed her hands, and she only rinsed her hands with water. She did not use soap. There was a sink right next to the stove. The other chef never washed her hands, and I witnessed her place her hand on a very dirty door frame more than once, while walking from the area where she was touching food with her fingers to the area where the dirty dishes were. I included a picture of the door frame for reference. I witnessed a male server walk into the kitchen, grab dirty silverware and dispose of it an a separate bin, but then he walked out, delivered food, returned and proceeded to add fresh basil with his fingers to dishes before delivering dishes to the tables. He used his fingers to pluck the basil, and I don't know if he washed his hands in between all that running around. I saw another male server who appeared to also be a bartender, place basil on dishes but he used a small metal instrument to pluck the fresh basil, which seemed like the proper way to do it. Lastly, the restaurant doesn't have the appropriate counter space to place food that is ready to be delivered to tables. The chefs frequently placed prepared dishes on a waist height counter right next to a laptop/register. A couple of times, I saw dishes placed right under the register, and a female server walked over to type into the laptop/register, and she literally stood right over the food while entering information. It seemed very unsanitary and I have no idea why they would place food on that counter. I included a photo of the food on the counter under the register. The most unsettling part for me was that the chefs and servers seemed very oblivious to what they were doing, as if this is common practice at the restaurant. Had I not been seated at the counter, I would have been oblivious to all this, but I was paying attention to everything that night. The servers were attentive and nice, but something needs to be done about cleanliness and counter space. We ate our dinner regardless of what we saw because of the reviews but I'm not returning.

We have been here 3x for dinner and once for brunch and every time we left very happy. We went Friday night for the DineLA 3-course prix fixe and we all agreed that it was excellent, especially for the price of $35 each. First course: endive and blue cheese salad Second course: Alfredo with shrimpThird course: Budino with toasted marshmallow and almonds. We also got a bottle of wine for the table. $44 for a Thatcher GSM is a steal. This place is definitely on our rotation for date night. Forgot to take pics of the Alfredo but it was delish. The only gripe, which isn't Bar Becky's fault, is: parking for LBX on a Friday is ridiculous. We basically parked next to OSH,almost to Carson, and walked the 3 blocks to the restaurant thru the parking lot. Whomever designed LBX either didn't plan on it being a big hit or thinks people carpool in LA

This is a place I would come back. Service was friendly and the food was delicious. It was a rainy night in Long beach but we still decided to go brave the rain for some good food. I recommend to reserve so you are assured of a table. We started with their bread, and then perused the menu some more. Their is a pre fixe menu that was a fantastic deal. Also ordered branzino and ordered a reasonably priced bottle of wine. Overall a tasty treat. Ambiance is casual and we can hear eat other over other people's conversation. O, the best dish for me are those carrots, especially if you like it abit sweet. Come and dine here, I don't think you will be disappointed, please open a location in Costa Mesa or HB.

One of the best culinary experiences I have ever had.Focaccia with ricotta, prosciutto and anchovy dip. Their Focaccia is an aged dough that is baked to order. It is a rich dough with an aged yeast flavor without being sour, pretty amazing! The homemade ricotta was one of my favorites and made me rethink my passion for burrata. The secret to it all was the anchovy dip! Sell that by the jar and put it on every vegetable ever! Amazing and will never not get a side of that if I come, even just to take home. Next the pasta, we got the Strozzapreti. A lamb cream sauce but the real kicker was the fennel pollen. Such a floral element and flavor bomb, it has me exploring new uses for this ingredient at home. Main course the wagyu short rib. Hard to mess up such a beautiful piece of meat but to elevate is a skill and they did just that. The au jus was rich and perfect but the real treat was the gnocchi with blue cheese sauce. To be honest I was hesitant about blue cheese but it was a splendid accompaniment to the rich wagyu. Not too overwhelming and made me rethink my own gnocchi I make at home. On to the veggies. I grow eggplant so wanted to try their crispy eggplant but had never had sunchoke so we tried them both. Eggplant was the best I have had, period, including my own and I am buying rice flour tomorrow for all of my future eggplant dishes. It was fried in rice flour and served on a raisin caper butter with pine nuts. They were crispy and meaty and I could never be a vegetarian but that is an amazing meat substitute and flavor was superb. As mentioned before best I ever had so recommended for sure. My husband loved the sunchokes! I did as well and for those who have never tried, it is a potato vibe from the artichoke family. Served roasted and crispy, heavy on pepper and topped with cheese and fried sunchoke chips. It was a flavorful dish with a complimentary texture and I would highly recommend. I should have started with this but the drinks. They don't skimp, they spend time on these, they rotate, they are creative and they caught me off guard. I am a crown on the rocks girl and my hubby likes fruity drinks so we tend to try, share and explore (drinks, don't be weird) when at a place like this.Un Beso with Clarified Chocolate Milk, rum based. My husband ordered, never was I ever going to order, I am thinking creamy something, no thanks. Boy was I wrong, not creamy, and got fully educated on what clarified means! Probably my favorite drink of the night, mostly because of the unexpected part.Worsham Boulevardier- pork washed bourbon cocktail with Campari and vermouth. I wanted to love this and my husband did but I just can't get past the Campari. That is a personal thing. The Chihiro - tequila aperol strawberry soda, very refreshing but same reason I don't like Campari I don't like aperol but way better than an aperol spritz for sure! The Smoking Bishop- aged rum with a cardamom infused whiskey. Such amazing spice and complex flavors, I would order again for sure.It was my birthday and our amazing server heard me mention so he brought us the Matilda's choc cake a 7 layer choc cake with a cream on top. I don't think whipped cream gives it justice I feel like it was more but we didn't order so not sure. I am not a sweet tooth person and I would not typically order this, my husband would but let me tell you, this was the best chocolate cake I have had. Rich chocolate flavor with a creamy filling between each of the 7 layers but it was not overly sweet. Lastly the whole vibe and to be fair that is what made it. We were first people there on a Thursday at 5pm so we got to sit at the counter and watch everything the chefs did! They were interactive and would explain or answer questions and it made the night even more magical. We will try to go early to get those seats every time. The service was phenomenal, we never had to ask for things, water constantly filled, bartender came to us once we finished drinking almost immediate and service was perfectly timed.Felt like a once in a lifetime evening and I feel lucky knowing we can do it again anytime if we want. Love LB. New go to splurge!!!!!!! Thanks for a wonderful night

Came here on a weekday night during the holidays and there was no wait (although we made a reservation anyways). We shared a couple appetizers, 2 pastas, 1 entree type food and 2 sides and we felt like it was plenty of food for 4 decently hungry adults. After hearing a lot about this place, was excited to finally try it!Everything tasted quite high quality, fresh, and well-balanced flavor-wise. Service was great and our waiter was really knowledgeable and funny. Food came out pretty quickly and drinks were great. If you're looking for non-alcoholic choices you can ask about mocktails which they do have off-menu!The focaccia was warm and fresh with a great texture. For the anchovy dip we expected something super-fishy but it was actually creamy with a fishy flavor which was not what we expected but it was still good. As for the pasta, they were both great but the Rotolo had to be my personal favorite--really deep textures with the multiple methods of preparing and cooking with a yummy filling.I also would definitely recommend the cacio e pepe sunchokes--very umami, very addictive flavor and great texture on the sunchokes. They were almost a cross between a potato and tuber vegetable in terms of texture. Wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised.I think this is a great place for a special occasion and they have plenty of enticing dishes to satisfy a variety of tastes. Glad we have something like this in LBX. As usual at LBX just be careful about parking if it's busy!

Food: 5/5Service: 5/5Ambiance: 4/5Parking: 3/5Family friendly: 3/5Stroller friendly: 3/5ADA accessible: 3/5Came here with a couple of friends for a night cap. Wish we would've started here though. We probably would have just stayed. Everything here at bar Becky is meticulously crafted, created. Whatever you want to call it, it's upper echelon. Tonight's dish was a hamachi carpaccio with 4 slices of amazingly fresh hamachi, lying in a layer of light citrus-y liquid. It was exquisite and light. (No price because my buddy had it waiting for me). Although I only had this appetizer dish, I can't wait to try more of the entrees when I get a chance. The Maestro of Mixology Fabian, conceptualized and concocted some of the most amazing cocktails. Cocktails were so good I forgot to take photos. I ended up ordering 3 drinks each with a different spirit and trust me when I say that each drink was delicious, mixed perfectly. The menú drinks hover around $16-18, but if you have something in mind that's not on the menu Fabian will def oblige. Now, bar Becky is a bar, so I'm not sure if it's a kid/stroller friendly place. But I feel like a wheelchair will fit, although it might be a bit snug. Parking is shared so it'll be busy, especially on the weekends. But, if you're in the area, I surely recommend this one.

My girlfriend and I celebrated her mom's birthday here and left completely satisfied, thanks to the delicious food, generous service, and lovely ambiance. We notified the restaurant in advance about the birthday celebration and our interest in the tasting menu. Upon arrival, the chefs and staff were immediately attentive to our needs--whether it was refilling water or replacing utensils. Chef Jonathan impressed us with his exceptional tasting menu, while Chef Nathan stood out for his skillful grilling, including a flavorful duck breast that was a highlight of the evening.Overall, the experience was fantastic, and we can't wait to return to explore their regular menu!
