Avenue Italy

This place is super classy, great Italian food and drink, and a pleasant environment. Tasty pastas and savory pizzas round out the menu. Great service too! PV is so lucky to have this place, but if you're not from the area, it is still well worth the drive! Buono! Grazi a Mille!

So I went back to review again. 1- ambiance It's such a cute cozy place. It really does have a cool vibe2- service The waiter was also the maitre d. He could have also been the chef, he was handling the whole restaurant... and he was doing great. Great service from the overworked staff3- foodOutstanding. Really good Italian food The deserts are to die for Yes, it's still pricy BUT it is in PV. Compared to other premium spots - such as terranea - I guess I shouldn't whinge so much.

Have been here a couple times and it's been ok but this latest visit in a Tuesday night was very good. We had the Caesar salad, lasagna, eggplant parm, angel hair with creamy pesto and mussels and linguine. All were very good but I would say the angle hair with creamy pesto was the surprise of the dinner. Very good. Service was very good and some nice piano music on a Tuesday night. Prices could be about 10% lower but it is PV. Came on Wednesday as we like to bring our own wine and there is no corkage fee on Mondays and Tuesdays. I would say I still prefer Georgios behind bristol farms but always good to have a couple of good options nearby.

Our party of 3 were celebrating a birthday and we made a reservation at Avenue Italy which has always been a favorite in the Palos Verdes area. We were seated promptly and given water and menus. The main dining area is a large area and the more intimate side areas were not open nor were the outside patio seating so we were in the large main area which is nicely decorated. We were served warm bread and a delicious olive oil dip. We ordered three different entrees and a Diavalo pizza as a starter. The Pizza was very good. Our entrees were i) Lasagna, ii) pasta with short ribs and iii) scallops with lemon sauce over pasta. Two of the entrees were very good but the pasta with short ribs fell short of expectations. The pasta was spinach pasta and the meat was dry and stringy and did not look or taste like short ribs. The manager Maurisio did the right thing and comp'dthe short rib pastao after we informed him of our evaluation of the dish . We all sampled the short rib pasta and it essentially was absent flavor and the meat was like a stringy, dry beef roast, not short ribs. They brought the traditional birthday deserts and they were great. This is the first time we have ever not liked the food at Avenue Italy but were pleased they did the right thing in comp'ing the dish. We will be back, just no short rib pasta orders. I am going to suggest to Maurisio that he go to Trani's in San Pedro and order their pasta with short ribs.

Just a stone's throw away from the San Vicente Lighthouse, Avenue Italy has some of the best black squid ink pasta I've ever had. Their ambiance is lovely, their outdoor patio welcoming, and their service is friendly and prompt. Avenue Italy also has delicious lasagna, my all-time favorite Italian dish. The sunset from their outdoor tables was stunning. There's something on the menu for everyone, and plenty of superb alcohol, as well. This is my favorite restaurant for when my hubby and I take a day trip to Palos Verde.

Italian food in PV is few and far but Avenue Italy hits the spot quite well. Located in Golden Cove plaza, this quaint little restaurant can get busy on weekends. And if you eat here, you best take your time cause that's the vibe.So what's good here? Pasta, or any of their food honestly. Grab some fettuccine with scallops or linguini with seafood and you're gonna be full, and then some. It's rich in flavor, generous with the seafood, and big in portions. I will say the scallops were cooked pretty well and infused with the sauce so I wasn't just biting into a rubber ball with sauce surrounding it. To finish off the meal, grab yourself a cappuccino and tiramisu or some other dessert. You'll sleep your way into next week with the food coma you'll get here.

Located in a big shopping plaza. Plenty of free parking. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Ordered the chicken piccata. Absolutely delicious. Chicken was cooked to perfection, was thin and tenderized. The sauce and the capers took this chicken to a whole different level. Highly recommend.

Simply fantastic. My wife and I stopped for lunch after visiting mom at Avenue Italy. We started with drinks and the eggplant parmesean for an appetizer, and wow, it was fantastic. Ernesto, our server, was amazing, professional, and friendly. The young man bussing tables was also kind and quite efficient. This place is a favorite when we are in the area. The decor and interior are quite exquisite and impressive. We sat in the patio and had a nice ocean breeze. For one entrees my wife had the branzino entree, and I had the salmon entree. Both dishes were well presented and prepared with flavor and perfectly seasoned. My compliments to the chef. This is a wonderful restaurant, and the food, service, and ambiance are stellar. Highly recommended.

The food was great, however it did take a while and we were so tired of waiting. Usually I would post pictures of the food we ordered but at that point we just wanted to eat. The rating is more for the service. The waiter served us and at one point had his armpit in my face. Usually, it's not proper etiquette to reach across and rather you go around so you're not reaching across the table. The menu was set above regular price for it being Mother's Day. So that was a bummer.
