2nd Saturday Art Walk is a monthly street fair held in the East Village Arts District of Long Beach. It's held on either Linden Ave between 1st St and Broadway or sometimes on 1st St between Linden Ave and Elm. The street is closed to traffic and sides of the street are lined with artists and their work, as well as, other jewelry and craft vendors. It's a nice chill event to stroll around and admire (and hopefully purchase) the works of these talented local artists. The galleries and shops in the area remain open and you can also enjoy the festivities with a cold beer or your favorite wine with front row seating on the parklets of the wine bar and another restaurant. All of the other great coffee shops and restaurants in the area are open, as well. You will also be entertained by fire dancers, singers, musicians, and spoken word artists. If you live in the area as I do, it's a great time to hang with the neighbors.

Fun, family-friendly event occurring the second Saturday of each month in Long Beach. Lots of interesting booths, live music, and good food around. We will frequent this event throughout the summer.

This leisurely stroll with interesting vendors, open in the evening galleries and haunting music went missing a couple of months ago. I hope it returns but I have not found any announcement.

One summer I was craving to check out art walks of cities, thanks to Yelp, I heard about this place.Ambiance: Parking: I generally didn't have an issue with parking here. Ranging from parking garages or streets you have some pretty good options.Food:There are some good vendors around here. If not food trucks then Roscoe's Chicken isn't too far away.Vendors:Great balance of music, art, and performers. I like how a street is blocked for the event but I wish there was a bit more.Overall: 3 stars. I can only wish it was bigger and opened later. Long Beach is a great place (beach, weather, vibes), thus it should be expanded and celebrated. Hopefully this can eventually grow.Advice:* As usual, come early to look better parking.

You can see this little art walk in about 20 minutes. It's only a block long, but sometimes they have some interesting things to look at. Lots of jewelry artists here, a live band, stuffed animals, scarves, knit stuff. If you're in the area I'd suggest walking by. I saw some pretty cool jewelry this past weekend. Bought some earrings from a local glassmaker. My friend bought a purse made in India and some of the proceeds go back to India. Some vendors accept credit cards and some don't so I'd just bring cash.

While I enjoyed many venues during the art walk, the highlight was definitely the atmosphere at Hellada Gallery. There was live music, ample food and drinks, the opening of Tom Scherschel's new painting show "Clouds" ( excellent), and a fascinating show of young people's art in the back gallery. A stimulating and diverse set of offerings. Hellada, a community treasure for over 20 years, is a true center for the local art community, and a testament to its tenacious founder, director Marek Dzida. A memorable night.

2nd Saturday of each month, they hold the Arts Walk on Linden. They close Linden between Broadway and 1st street. Local vendors display their handmade wares. I've bought a couple of handmade double wrap bracelets which I receive many compliments when I wear with my watch. These are handmade by a single mom, so I feel like I'm helping in some way.I love the atmosphere that this creates, and is a great place to have a date night. Many coffee shows, and restaurants are nearby.

Always fun to come out here with some friends on a Saturday and check out a lot of local artists. Last time I was here there were a few painters that were incredible one individual named Akira who lives here in LB did a live spray paint of 2pac. It was absolutely incredible to see in person, I am absolutely amazed by some of the work that I saw and I will admit also a little jealous that I don't have a special talent like that. I highly recommend checking it out if you are looking for something to do on a Saturday night , it is small but its pretty cool to see all the art and there is live music which is great

Definitely the coolest thing happening downtown. Or maybe it's the other east village art walk? There's two of these things, and I think there might be a rivalry. But they are both a great community event, and they are both great venues to see art, have wine, schmooze, etc.It reminds you that downtown still has a pulse. Not to be missed, if you live in Long Beach.

When I first moved to Long Beach, I was excited to hear about the artist culture and was looking forward to exploring all the galleries and art events starting with 2nd Saturdays Artwalk. After several attempts to validate the existence of this typically lackluster event, I'm ready to stick my thumbs deep into the eyes of all the East Village Arts District board members.First, it's not so much a walk as it is 100 yards of crap. The people on the street are mostly shilling bad art or worse crafty jewelry and other junk. Then there's the occasional person promoting their completely unrelated business service. Worse is that many of the galleries in the immediate area showcase the same crap month after month. There is really only one shop that I look forward to visiting, Alphacult on 1st. The rub is, for some reason, the E.V.A.D doesn't include Alphacult in their event, but can't keep them from having an opening, and they almost always end up having more visitors than the entirety of the artwalk participants.Long story short, don't waste your time on 2nd Saturdays. Instead, hit up Alphacult during the week to avoid the crowd, and visit all the other cool boutiques on 1st Street and finish up with a drink at House of Hayden.
