For sure a hole in the wall but GREAT food! Small market in the front, you have to walk to the back for the food. Decent sized menu...Burritos, tacos, enchiladas & even tamales sometimes. Pasole & menudo Friday, Saturday & Sunday. I ordered (3) Burritos & (1) chicken enchilada plate. All good! $6.00ea for the burritos & $7.00 for the enchilada plate. Can't beat that price!Service was great, friendly.

Arteaga's is a small market that carries a pretty good selection of daily essentials. From shampoo, to cat treats, cooking spices, and Tupperware. The prices are also very low in comparison to the surrounding stores, as there is a lot of competition. If you walk in further enough to the back, you will be teleported to an authentic Mexican restaurant.No, I am not kidding.There are always hot dishes ready. Such as costillas de puerco en salsa verde, egg and cactus, adobo pork, chiles rellenos, ect. The rest is made fresh to order. My usual is a carne Asada burrito. Their rice and beans are great, but what I absolutely love is their salsa! Amazing! Add sour cream and cheese for a dollar more.On the weekends they have Birria. Also known as my all time favorite Mexican cuisine. Highly recommend it. I go here at least twice a week when I don't want to cook. Never disappointed. It's funny because this is LITERALLY yet another, hole-in-the-wall. Props to my mom for telling me about this place. Everything we try is good! The cooks are really sweet and attentive! And there's nice inside seating! Considering it is a restaurant inside of a small market... It's a great find! 4 stars Arteaga's!

Best secret in Long Beach! If you drive by their location, you'd swear it's just a hole in the wall market from the front. Easy to miss and parking isn't the greatest but the real treasure is in the back; their restaurant. Their menudo is a must-have, probably the best I've had. Take it to go, there's not much room in their dining room but you'll come back for their cheap prices and awesome quality.

The pozole is a must ! i usually do to go all the time to make sure i can eat at my own comfortable home

So bomb ! My favorite food here has to be the burritos. I just tried the chile relleno burrito, to die for. Family owned business, very warm and welcoming feeling !

Me and my boyfriend went here on a whim because it was right next to the laundromat and we were craving Mexican food. The front of the store has some basic inventory but nothing crazy. There is a butcher at the front as well. In the back they have a kitchen and small eating area that may remind you of your abuela's house. The cook took our order and it came out hot and ready within 5-10 minutes. We both got asada burritos and they were delicious!!! The only complaint was that the burritos were not wrapped well but everything inside it was delicious. The service was great, a lady, the owner maybe, greeted us and made sure our order was correct. Definitely a hole in the wall but don't sleep on this place!

This is one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Long Beach.There food is so good from tamales to burritos. I usually get the wet burrito because it is the best. It is very easy to miss there is a market in the front and the restaurant in the back I recommend.
