Ambala Sweets & Spices - Anahiem

I stopped by Ambala Sweets and Spices in Anaheim, thinking this was the same sweet shop that is in Little India (Cerritos). The inside of the store seemed to be, as they had the similar/same kind of menu with a display case of sweets as well as snacks. I asked the woman working there if it was and to my HORROR she said no. As it turns out the one in Cerritos is called Ambala Sweets & Snacks. How deceptive! Is this even legal? I figured since I am here I might as well as get some sweets to try. So I picked up a selection of mithai (India sweets).Mithai (Indian Sweets- $13 lb.) - First off this is $3 a lb. more than the Ambala in Cerritos. I got Pistachio burfi and Milk cake. I was assured by the lady working there that they were soft. Nothing could be further from the truth. The mithai wasn't soft and didn't seem super fresh like the ones I had at the other location.Overall, I was so disappointed with the Indian sweets here. It wasn't fresh and also way over priced. I don't know how this place can have almost the same name as the other place.

On the way towards West Hills from Irvine after a conference, me and my wife were hungry for some hot Indian food and upon googling and yelping, found this gem of a place hidden in a stripmall. It is a Indian grocery store, combined with a small restaurant and a full Kitchen behind for snacks and healthy eateries. We ordered the Aloo stuffed parathas, which came with curd and pickles, and then had the Aloo chat papadi. The papdi chat was very flavourful with nice creamy curd and spicy chaat masala. The only downside was it was a little cramped and the seating was the back beside the restroom and the crampiness was astute among sacks of rice and wheat . It doesn't give the full experience of being in a restaurant . But the food is great, the parantha was made fresh and they came out hot and the papdi chaat was excellent. If you don't mind the craziness of the store plus the restaurant, please do give this a visit.

The food is very oily and the oil quality used is like very harmful if you eat their food then make sure you write your Will & last testament. Another one of those places "run Forest run" they can charge more but serve healthy food but no they have to charge more and serve harmful food on top of that.

I have been going to them for food & other things for quite a while now and I would like to say that they excelled in their Service every single time. I will definitely recommend them always.

This review is for this location's sweets and customer service.CUSTOMER SERVICE - the young gentleman working on a Wednesday night was super helpful seeing as I didn't really know what I wanted to order other than gulab jamun. He was so nice in explaining me what the other desserts were and everything sounded so great! Very nice service and could come back for that alone.DESSERTS - from what I tried (milk cake, gulab jamun, jalebi are what I can remember), all that I got was really yummy. Such a treat and will come again to try the rest.I'll be returning to try their snacks and other desserts. Tucked in a corner but definitely worth the find.

I don't know what is up with these people, but they clearly have no clue what customer service means. Each and every employee is rude beyond belief and the owner is the worst of the bunch!The stale food is not worth the trouble either. I caution anyone to stay far away from this place. Don't flush your money and time down the toilet here.

This is by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had at any store, let alone an Indian grocery store. We were told by a young lady working there to wait outside for the floor to dry while they were mopping, which we did for a full 10 minutes. She then told us it was okay to go inside, so we walked in--only to be met with hostility and rudeness from the staff. The man behind the counter started shouting at the young lady in Punjabi, asking why she let us in when the floors were wet. Then, the lady owner came out and yelled, "Why are they walking on the wet floor? Are they blind?" This was completely uncalled for, offensive, and disrespectful.We waited as instructed and followed their directions, only to be humiliated for no reason. This isn't just bad customer service--it's outright discrimination. After reading other reviews, it's clear this place has a long-standing issue with treating customers poorly. If this is how they handle basic interactions, they should be ashamed. Save yourself the headache and shop somewhere that actually respects its customers. Get your act together!

Food is great. Ate there on whim. The sweets were delicious. We ended up using Ambala Sweets as caterer for our wedding sweets. It was a great decision. Our guests complimented us on our sweet selection. Thank you so much Ambala Sweets. I highly recommend you ask for Parmjit. He is great to work with. Very reasonable pricing in my opinion.

This place has the most pathetic customer service and stale groceries! The woman who runs this place is very rude and extremely cheap! Do yourself a favor and avoid this place if you want to be treated with courtesy and respect! Wish I could give negative stars!

The ingredients they used were very old.First : It was papdi chaat and they used pani puri's Puri.Second: She used the products that tasted so bad.This store should not have the right to sell food.Waste of money not at all good ambience.Service was ok.DO NOT GO!
