I came here Saturday night for a concert and I really liked this venue/Bar.For parking if you get here early and are lucky there is a small lot with parking spaces. If not it looks like there is street parking. As mentioned on their website DO NOT park in the auto zone parking lot. You will get towed.The doors opened at 8PM this night and they kept it on time. They check your ID as this is a 21 and over establishment and they do check as one person in front of me was denied entry for not having his ID.Once they check your ID they scan your ticket. its a pretty simple process. On this night the concert was sold out so there was a separate line for people who were trying to get tickets that were going to be available later on at night. Once you are scanned in you are at the patio where they have merch, one food vendor (or at least on this night as I've heard there is not always food) and some benches. Don't quote me on this but I would assume this is also a smoking area?On the right hand side is the entrance to the Bar. Its pretty small venue with a long bar and plenty of open area to stand and enjoy the concert. There is very limited seats I would say no more than 20/30 seats towards the back of the venue so if you need or want one get there right when doors open as these were all gone within 30 minutes or less of doors opening. The show started close to 9pm with 3 opening acts. Main act did not get on until about 11:15PM and they were on stage for about an hour.Drinks prices are not to bad but one weird thing is that the prices were not consistent. I ordered a Captain & Coke two times from one of the girl workers and was charged $9 but when I ordered from one of the guys he charged me $10 so not sure what happened there.I would for sure come back here to see another band here as its small and intimate venue.

It was so early on a Saturday we didn't really know what to do so we came here. They had drinks I had water since I wasn't feeling great and needed to pace myself if I was going to try and last a few more hours to enjoy the rest of my birthday night lol. But love the atmosphere and decor. Dark and big inside they had a DJ playing oldies music which I love but it was empty since it was still early so it was putting me to sleep lol. They also have a photobooth so my bff and i took pictures together haven't take photos in a photobooth in years. The bartenders were really friendly, we just sat at the bar. There was a few people inside but not many since it was still super early. But would come here again I like the vibe and they also have a stage which is awesome too I'm sure for live music and bands. First things first. We have an excellent bill with the old LA punk band X playing. Just that made this place a very cool venue. It is not a large club and opportunities to slam dance were there but given the age of the crowd very little of that was going on.We had around 10 people in our group so it was hard to stick together given how crowded it was. The bar service was a little bit slow, but it was a full house tonight so that is expected. There is excellent decor on the walls and importantly, after the show was over many in our group hadn't seen each other in a while. They allowed to hang out drinking and dancing in the club for easier another hour or so. easy parking either in free lot or street parking. Kudos to a great club providing a great night out at a cool club.

Came here for a concert, the acoustics were great and the people were very cool.It's a solid venue! Only down a star because the bartender to people ratio is slightly low and its basically a large room with a bar. Still great thoughh.

Fun ambiance; parts punk, kitsch, retro and dive bar. Most people go here for the musical acts which tend to crowd the mostly standing room only space. Drinks are decent. You'll need tickets for nights with musical acts but may be able to purchase at the door, I didn't chance it and purchased ahead but had to download the DICE app to be able to use them. Will definitely come back if there's a band I think I might like.

Alex's bar in Long Beach is a legendary home to such rock performers as the Melvins and the Reverend Horton Heat. It's small and dark with an original punk feel nestled in the heart Long beach.

In February I went with some friends who were visiting Long Beach. We bought three Jameson's whiskey. Then we placed it along the side rails, near sound engineer's booth. Then my friends to the bathroom. I walked away from the drinks for just a few minutes to greet some other friends I saw. When I returned to the side rails, the drinks were gone. I went to the bartender to ask about my drinks. She said it wasn't their responsibility. I told her that the bar back probably took the drinks. She said that wasn't possible. I asked her to play the video recording. She would not. Then one of my visiting friends got involved. The discussion became heated. Then all of the sudden the bartender told the security to kick me out. We paid $45 plus tips for the whiskey. This establishment is notorious for this.And last night, I spoke to the general manager Brad and the owner Alex. I told them what happened, but they didn't care. This management, owner condones this practice. Because most patrons will put up with it and just buy more drinks. I would not recommend anybody visit this bar. There are manhy other bars in Long Beach. Do not give them your business.

Fun little bar to watch live music if you like rock and roll and Punk rock type of stuff.I believe they filmed some vampire shows there.Cool little gothic type bar.

One of the best places to see a show. Great vibes, great bartenders, great sound, and killer bands! I wish more venues had it together like this. Oh and the guy cooking the food outside this past Saturday is the real deal! Highly recommend.

On this, my 2nd visit to this establishment, for the second time my drinks were cleared as I swiveled my bar-stool to engage with the crowd behind me. The most dissatisfying thing was when I asked the bartender to make it right, she absolutely refused to acknowledge the mistake. She was defensive, even combative when I answered her questions about what had happened. She wasn't looking for the truth, she was trying to give lip-service. Gail. I was honestly shocked by the dismissive treatment.I won''t come back, and hopefully this is not typical behavior.I REALLY wanted to LVE this place*ps Mae has served me both times I've been invited to Alex's, and BOTH times she acted like she didn't recognize me when questioned by her colleagues about whether I had drinks.Look at the register...
